TLDR: The show is fine. If you like typical shounen power fantasy or if you like isekai you'll probably find this fun. There's nothing inherently wrong with the show I just wish it wasn't such a typical predictable edgy shounen power fantasy. Ultimately this is less of a sports show and more of a shounen battle show flavored as a soccer show.

This is 100% spoilers. If you don't want them then just know that the beginning of this show is a fun and enjoyable GL romcom which I would recommend. The last third of the show is filled with contrived drama that ruins the fun of the beginning.
The story was great until the last few episodes. The female lead's original crush comes in and the female lead openly displays a significant amount of affection towards them that is not show to the protagonist.
