Story: 9/10. I know this is based of a video game but we are talking anime here- almost each and every episode is fun to watch. The subtle humor and the eagerness of Uzuki makes this show more entertaining to watch. The concept of a producer making the girls' dreams come true by helping them become idols performing on stage sounds fun and challenging at the same time. I don't see much dullness overall in each episode.
Characters: 9.5/10 Uzuki Shimamura is the best girl, followed up by Rin and Mio. All characters in the anime have unique personalities and they are supportive of each
...
other which is satisfying for the viewer like me. Producer-san has a good heart and cares for the girls. Everyone in the anime is likeable, so I pretty much don't see any reason to dislike them.
OST: 9/10. Music is great, not much to say.
Art: 8/10. Art style looks dated but the complex animations such as the girls dancing are well animated.
Overall 9/10. I love it.
Its an underrated anime in my opinion. I was hoping for more episodes but it is what it is. I would never thought I would fall in love with this anime and demand more from the Cinderella Girls series so much.. again this is based off a video game, but good job A-1 Pictures for adapting this series very well. I recommend it if you are a fan of idols and a bit of drama added to the mix.

I am writing this review as of rewatching this anime a couple months after I finished it watching the first time. I am aware that this is not everyone's cup of tea, so I will provide my review based on the following criteria:
Story: 7/10 -
Some unpredictable moments here and there, but it is satisfying. The pacing is good, and the "fillers" other claim try to claim it to be are crucial to the story as it helps deliver context and backstory which will make sense later on in the anime. Some shounen cliches used in the anime are apparent and tend to be overused
...
and generic at times but generally speaking those do not impact the story that much.
Sound+OST: 9/10
OST: 9.5/10 , VA: 9/10
OP 1 is one of the best I've ever listened to, compared to all of animes. I watched this OP on YouTube before deciding to watch the anime a year later, and thankfully it did not disappoint. The ED and OP 2 sounds good but not as good as OP 1.
The OST during the anime is great/excellent and is executed nearly perfectly based on the intensity and the scenario.
For Sounds, Eugeo on the other hand, was delivered to near perfection by Shimazaki Nobunaga. 9/10 for overall voice acting.
Visuals: 9/10 -
Visually speaking this is one of the most visually appealing anime to watch whether you are a fan of the series of not. The combat scenes are fantastic, and every scene in general looks just as fantastic. Those animators did not half ass for one single bit! The composition is one of the best of any anime. Huge props to A-1 pictures for making these visuals, combined with hand drawn animation appear as professional and eye-appealing as possible.
Characters: 8/10.
Eugeo gets a 10 from me, because he, unlike Kirito has much more flaws that he later overcomes (for the most part) and is overall a more interesting person with a much more interesting personality. The story doesn't explain much as to why he is more fearful to violence compared to Kirito, yet later on the story goes on to say "I couldn't do anything, sorry." I've probably missed it so I have to rewatch it to hopefully get the grasp of Eugeo's source of his fear/lack of strength. The development for Eugeo is satisfying as the story goes on. What I like about him, is that he and Kirito somehow share a similar, but different philosophical view. For example, compare the scenes where both Eugeo and Kirito first meet Cardinal, and the scene where both of them first meet the girl at the elevator. Take note of who takes the first initiative. Those little details matter a lot. The only thing I wish never happened was his death. But again, he's essentially an AI generated by Rath so I don't think much is lost in the story.
Tiese, Ronie, and Cardinal get a 8/10. Others, including, Kirito, get a 7/10.
Enjoyment: 8/10
Overall: 8.2 > 8
To be honest after I finished watching this, I still wasn't sure if Alice was fully cured of her synthesis even before Eugeo was deceased, because even after seeing Eugeo at the last floor, I was hoping Alice would be just as happy to see him again the same way during their time as young children which wasn't the case, leaving me a bit unsatisfied. But later on it goes to reveal that Alice had a "thing" for Kirito which for me made sense, but still left me thinking: "Is Alice still recovering her memories after the final boss was defeated?" because she isn't as cheerful as before but I may just be overthinking this. Only thing I didn't like is Kirito's VA. Doesn't suit him as well. Maybe voice acting could've been better, or probably could've been chosen by someone else but I guess in terms of identity I guess it does make sense. If Kirito had a different VA this would have possibly been a 10 from me, but of course there are other minor flaws that contribute to this rating.

High School DxD aged like fine wine. Have watched this a year ago and still feel invested into the series and rewatching the entire anime for the 5th time as of writing this review. Fantastic anime/series for anyone watching even after over a decade after its release. I can (almost) promise you, you will be heavily invested into DXD, meshed perfectly well with romance, ecchi and comedy.
The story leaves no confusions and gets straight to the point, the animation is still good and holds up to this day despite more professionally drawn anime being produced as of writing this review. Art style is still
...
pleasing to the eye, and so are the characters. Once you understand their personalities and their character traits- it's (almost) impossible to hate them after you understand their backstories and behind their motives to do such life-changing things.
Voice acting is spectacular even to this day. The best part about the series? Character development- doesn't feel rushed at all and makes you feel for the characters at the Occult Research Club.
Music is great. Not much to say about it.
STORY - 10/10
ANIMATION - 10/10
CHARACTER - 10/10
OST - 9/10
ENJOYMENT - 10/10
OVERALL - 10/10

Before rewatching this series, I thought this was very bad, but decided to give it another chance and my thoughts on this changed (and can safely say its an interestingly good anime).
Essentially is all about protecting the female protagonist Mio from being attacked by the hero clan, by the male protagonist Basara Tojo. Interesting stuff as it does bring inspiration from High School DxD.
Story: Good, you never know if Lars or Basara will reign supreme over the other throughout the series. Basara and his harem get stronger by the harem by forming a Master Servant pact so who knows how much stronger they
...
will get as the story goes on. In terms of ecchiness, it is too much for my liking and if they toned it down a notch.
Artstyle: Very good and detailed characters, seems dated but still watchable as of 2022.
Sound: Good soundtrack, brings back the DxD and Date a Live vibes together in the OP and ED.
Characters: The most composed Harem MC out of all other harem series, Basara knows what he's doing and is intelligent in making negotiations (as seen when making deals with Lars for the sake of saving Mio from danger) His harem can be too tsundere but hey atleast they are busty, right? If anything, Basara is the smartest, most clever harem MC out of all others.
I enjoyed the idea of the story, though the ecchiness is too much for my liking. Had they toned it down I would have rated this an 8.
Tldr; If you finished watching DxD and want an alternate yet similar storyline that you will like then this is for you. If you can tolerate the ecchiness then this will be great to watch.

This is one of the first of the 5 animes that I have ever watched at the time I started actually watching anime, since then, I watched a ton of animes and my view on this anime still remains consistent: 3/10.
Compared to other harem anime this one is rather bland, generic, and has too many clichés at the same time.
CGI is used excessively. Much prefer if the robots/machines were animated in 2d, no one would mind minor errors here and there. Other than that the art style is OK at best.
Soundtrack is meh.
Main character is 3/10 because it is, you guessed it, a
...
generic dense MC thats probably even more dense and predictable than other harem MCs.
Other characters are generic, boring and add absolutely no value.
Too many questions left unasked in this series, but doesn't matter since the first few eps already show how boring and predictable the rest of this anime can get.
Typical Tsundere girls with overused tsundere phrases, there is almost nothing original with this series in terms of dialogue and story- does it even exist? Who knows. If anything it's more like a ripoff of Date a Live/High School DxD, but much worse.
Summary:
It's bad. Hard to find this enjoyable, had to stop watching halfway since I lost interest in it.
If you haven't watched yet any harem anime, then you should watch this to get a taste of the genre. Not terrible but not good either. Maybe if you like robots then I guess this is for you.

Not a typical fan of slice of life anime but thought I had to give this one a look since the trailers seem promising to the art style. Stopped watching it halfway since I kinda got bored of watching it.
Here's some good things about it:
The art style is fantastic, each frame shown in each episode is worth like, what, 10,000 dollars?! Jokes aside, it is very crisp and clean and consistent at the same time. The overall animation is outstanding, and I find myself rewatching the OP for the sake of it.
The Story is reasonable, just not entertaining and it gets boring throughout the
...
series; Akebi goes to school to make friends and is the only one with a Sailor Uniform with a blue ribbon. As fun as it sounds, it was unfortunately not my cup of tea.
Soundtrack is good though nothing to be shocked about.
To summarize: If you're a fan of slice of life anime and want to witness what is possibly the best animation/art style of this decade then you should absolutely watch it.

Tetsuya Yanagisawa, the Storyboard Director for Seasons 1-3 of High School DxD, is a pure genius when it comes to managing a storyline from the light novel and implementing the altered version in anime form perfectly. Despite it not being a 1 to 1 copy from the Light Novel, it is the best DxD adaptation I've watched yet, better than the LN adaptation in my opinion.
Story: A rollercoaster of emotions- literally no dull moments whatsoever. Pacing is great and this one ticks all the boxes: Sadness, laughter and pure satisfaction. This applies to the rest of the seasons as well. Oppai scenes are a
...
plus, I guess.
Art: Dated, a bit on the contrasty side of things but still perfectly watchable in this day and age. Eyes on characters look inconsistent at times but its no biggie. (Applies to past seasons as well)
Sound: I can dance to the Ending song all day. The rest of the OST is great and fits with the anime perfectly.
Character: Main character (Issei) is a straightup funny character and cares for the rest of his harem. He may seem dense to some people like other harem MC, but it is understandable as to why he is the way he is after watching the past seasons.
Character Development: it is one of the best out there. No character is left out of the story and they all each have their obstacles which is represented as you watch thru the show. Each one of them has a unique personality and gives you a deep insight on why they are the way they are in terms of personality. The bond between members in Rias Gremory's clan grow stronger over time and it is very apparent and interesting to watch.
10/10 in terms of Character Develoment, 9.5/10 in terms of MC.
Enjoyment: Each episode felt like 5 minutes, time flies real quick when you're really into it! I really, really enjoyed it, I'm glad i watched it.
Overall: High School DxD BorN is in my opinion the best season I've watched in the best anime series (yet). The Storyline, character development, and the perfect balance between comedy, emotional, and ecchi remain consistent throughout the entire series.
After watching tons of anime including harem anime and other trending anime, I've updated the rating for this from 9 to 10 since this one still can't be topped, and I highly doubt it will anytime soon.

Straight out of the bat, coming from watching the first three seasons of the anime series I was left very concerned over the art style. Sure it may not be for everyone but this is a hit or miss- it does resemble the light novel much more than what TNK has done and looks more modern in general, but the inconsistency in the character design is very apparent- feels a bit rushed. Sometimes the faces on Akeno or Rias look weird and chibi-like, and Kiba does not look like Kiba at all. I'm probably being a bit too harsh but its just my opinion.
...
Now on the good side of things, the story and character development is amazing and consistent throughout the series. The fight scenes are epic and enjoyable to watch. And many questions I was gonna ask are answered in this season. Soundtrack is good and the overall story is fantastic. I'm highly anticipating for the next season to come!
