Episode 1: Impressive beginning, lackluster ending
I've really been waiting for this ending. We've all been waiting for it for 9 years. Based on the amazing experiences that viewers have witnessed throughout the 4 seasons of AOT, it's not hard to say most of us have high expectations for the final 2 episodes. I was no exception. I will not specifically evaluate the obvious and separate content such as Art, Music, ... because we have one more ep ahead. I'll just focus on the emotions, the story.
The story is divided into chapters, and ep 1 consists of 2 chapters. Regarding chapter 1, I would probably like
...
to give Hajime a compliment, this chapter has a very well maintained appeal from the end of ep 12 of season Final - Part 2. The rumbling of the colossal titans and the aftermath of this is told very genuine. Although there are a few places that are a bit rushed, it still causes obsession to a certain extent. However, accompanying this story is a rather confusing character development. It's Eren. I don't know how to feel about him. Eren's thoughts and feelings cause confusion for viewers. This has been shown in many episodes of the final season, and I'm sick of seeing Eren's unclear views. If he's a good guy, show the viewer proof of that. And if he's turned evil, or it's some compulsion that makes him the bad guy, don't let the viewers see him cry with regret, and then he act very brutal. In contrast to that, Armin's relationship with Annie attracts attention in a positive way. It can be said that the interaction between the two of them is the highlight of this ep and perhaps the whole AOT story. Very sweet and natural. It can be said that the next two impressive characters are Hanji and Floch. They all have very cool and bright scenes. The other characters do not appear and then disappear. They each have their own value in the story. I'm pretty sorry for Gabi, she gave the playing field to other characters. In general, chapter 1 focuses on psychological development, so the action scenes are not much. I was also a bit disappointed. But the experience is still great.
But by chapter 2, which can also be said to be the end of ep 1, it was a bit of a letdown for me. Nothing particularly impressive. The fact that Eren communicates with people using Wifi-Eldia waves (I guess) only makes the story quite funny and unreal. The new details from Falco's dream are still only a small amount of interest, everything seems to be saved for ep 2. As for the fact that the members of Liberio unwittingly gathered in the place of the final battle, this is what makes me feel... bored. There are no surprises here. Even the white beard man - the general expressing the feelings of the entire human race through the loudspeaker... this is a bit childish. And the end is all in one place. End. This is not what I expect at the end of an important ep. Even though everything is still in ep 2, I was disappointed. That's the problem.

Please redeem my feelings in the last eps of this season. Because it's not worth it. I know there's a long episode finale ahead, but that doesn't mean I have to appreciate a season with slow-paced last episodes and full of flashback scenes at the end.
As always, I'm going to judge this season based on factors, and I'll be doing a quick review of the episodes as well.
After the explosive first ep to continue what was unfinished, the 2nd ep is less exciting but still in an interesting arc. The next 4 eps are the most surprising and best I can imagine, they give me
...
expectations, eps 7, 8, 9 have tested my patience, even though there are many remarkable psychological developments. Unfortunately, ep 10, 11, 12 did not meet my expectations, although there were still life and death situations, dramatic. Especially ep 12. I feel like my feelings have been stolen.
Now, I will evaluate the first thing, Art. This part I said on in Final season - Part 1, but I will say further, the segments of titans appear to be produced in 3D MAPPA style, there are scenes look cool, but there are scenes that have It feels a bit fake. I think this is the reality viewers have to accept. Some people will love this, but others will prefer WIT's art production. In particular, I paid attention to the portrayal of the characters' faces, which I was not very impressed with. Some scenes of the characters' faces when they stand in the distance don't look real. Even so, the battle scenes, explosive bombs, water surface... are very beautiful. I rate: A
The second is Music: This is what I feel is great, the first eps, the music is a great highlight, so many good and familiar tunes appear at the right time when it should appear. However, there are eps where the music is applied too much, many melodies are repeated and lack of freshness. But perhaps to me, this is still the strong point of AOT. OP and ED songs are so good as well. I rate: A+
Characters: I don't know what to say, there are characters that are developed very well, I especially like Gabi, her story was formed very well from Part 1, and it is perfectly upgraded in Part 2. The other characters all have their own highlights. Even other "normal" characters like Hitch have their own imprint in the hearts of viewers. However, the most unfortunate thing about this season is that there is no character that is the "center" of attention. No character shines like season 1's Annie, 2nd season's Ymir and 3rd season's Historia. In particular, Eren's psychological development is unclear, interrupted, leading to confusion for viewers. Is he bad or good? Does he act out of hatred or love? This is not perfectly developed. Anyway, I rate: A+
Next, the story. This is the part I want to make clear. First of all, I have to admit two things. Firstly, the author is a very good person at "hiding" important details. He hides the fact that Dina is the smiley titan, Reiner's identity, Frieda's sweetness, and now Grisha. Second, the author is very good at zoning the story. For example, season 1, everything happened in Trost and the giant forest, in season 2 it was Utgard and the giant forest, season 3 was the titan cave and Shiganshina. I can only admire Hajime. But this is a strength, as well as a weakness. When the story leaves an important place, it means that everything around it also loses its appeal. The surprises of Eren and Zeke's journey to the past take AOT to a new level, which opens up a lot of possibilities. However, towards the end of the season, these abilities were abandoned. We have to temporarily accept everything as Eren's fault. It's all because of him. While the door of time is a very cool concept. Admittedly, Annie's awakening was a "known from the beginning" surprise but still caused excitement, but the next developments were not as shocking and rushed as the previous seasons. The assault on the harbor was interesting and dramatic, but it was too little, compared to the level of expectation. I rate: A+
And finally, emotions. What do I feel when experiencing the final season - Part 2? It can be said that when the characters are so familiar and close to me, what I care about is probably their safety. Inadvertently, this deceives us from the emotions inherent when watching a movie, a show or an anime. If you look at it from that fundamental perspective, this season doesn't meet my emotional needs. I want to cry, scream when I see the characters plunge into dangerous battles, open my mouth in surprise at the unexpected things that happen to the characters. Apart from ep 3 and ep 11, I don't have much to say about my feelings. In particular, ep 12 made me a bit emotionally disappointed, although the story of ep 12 is still quite good. I rate: B
All in all, as the story has expanded beyond Paradis, it has also become more difficult for the author to complete the characters' stories. Maybe at the last minute, all the characters should hold hands and die? Or do they all live happily ever after? What is the ending we expect? In my opinion, given what happened from season 1, I would expect a "crazy" ending. In true AOT style.

It can be said that, normally as the story goes deeper, it is difficult for everything to keep the mystery and attraction, but I am quite impressed with the final season - part 1, especially the storytelling.
I will comment specifically for each part.
Art:
This is the first season produced by the new studio _ MAPPA, compared to the WIT studio of the previous 3 seasons. With the WIT studio, the characters are clearly depicted, especially the facial expressions. I don't like this point with MAPPA studio, the faces of some characters are very strange and there are no clear and special expressions like WIT studio did
...
before. The childhood characters also do not have clear expressions. Some scenes look at the characters as mannequins.
Regarding the visually stimulating scenes (like Eren rushing through buildings in Trost in season 1, Levi being chased by Kenny's gang in season 3), in this season, I have never seen such a scene.
Regarding the action scenes, this part I prefer MAPPA. Notice the 3D-rendered titan Rod Reiss in season 3, meh~ it looks fake to me. But in this season, the scenes of titans fighting look quite attractive and natural.
Honestly, if possible, I would like these two studios to work together. Each studio has its own strengths and weaknesses.
Score: B++
Music:
The opening and ending songs of this season are very good. Especially OP. But maybe rock isn't my favorite, so I'm more impressed with the music, remembering ep 15, when Xavier reminisces about the past, wow the music was so good. And many more passages with impressive music. Score: A
Characters:
The characters in this season do not have too many things that impress me. Some of the characters are cared for in psychological development, like Reiner, Zeke, of course they will have the sympathy of the viewers, but other characters like Eren, Levi, Hanji.. all just above average, they just do what they still do, there's nothing new about them. Eren's change from good to bad still doesn't convince me completely. The new characters aren't too unique either, although they all have personalities.
Story:
Yo here's the part where I need to give the author a round of applause. The storytelling of this season is amazing. From the way it started in ep 1 to the last eps, everything was streamlined, perfect. I can even say this is a new level of AOT. It's the great storytelling that elevates all the characters, even though they're nothing special. The dialogues between the characters, the motivations for them to act, every word... are at a high level, like an Oscar-winning movie. The theme of the story is also very contemplative, with real relevance, especially the way young people deal with burdens. Of course, the gentle, romantic segments are almost absent, this is also what I feel sorry for this season. But remembering how the story hides Eren in ep 3, the way things happen in Paradis from ep 10... is enough to give an A+++ for storytelling.
Feelings:
My feelings are not too explosive, but the appeal of the story makes me unable to take my eyes off the screen, the drama, the suspense, the fear, the tension, all there. Even when the Paradis and Marley factions fight against each other, I can't tell which side I'm cheering for.. But I love it. It can be said that this season has brought completeness to my heart. A+
In short, this is still the season that I recommend to everyone, very enjoyable. And as the story goes this far, I think we start to feel like we don't want to leave the AOT world, thing is about to happen soon.
I'm starting to feel sad lol

The first 5 eps is great about emotions, the second 5 eps is logical and explanatory.
It can be said that part 2 of season 3 is a special case, I can divide these 10 eps into two parts.
Part 1: Battle of Shiganshina
Indeed this is what I expect from AOT. Both season 2 and part 1 of season 3, at the climax, I still feel those battles have not reached the level of excitement as season 1, but here things are different. The battle with the Beast Titan at Shiganshina was so dramatic, thrilling every second and made me unable to take my eyes off the
...
screen. The fighting scenes between survey corps and titans are not only good in terms of action but also in terms of war tactics.
The characters all have their own moments. There are some very interesting characters, so their ending makes me feel sad. I was expecting a more epic ending for those characters.
The music is really the bright spot, I'm always immersed in the atmosphere of the story very quickly.
After the battle ended, I was waiting for the next eps to explode, so I had expectations.
Part 2: Explanations for the Mysteries
If someone was waiting for the tunes of the final episodes to be as dramatic as the battle at Shiganshina, they'd be a bit disappointed.
This stage describes the aftermath of the war and the secrets are revealed.
It can be said that the tempo of these eps is slower and softer. The story of the mystery of the titans is explained quite reasonably, especially with the "important key" details connected to the previous seasons, I really like these two points.
However, everything is too exciting in the first eps, so when the story of the other world is described, everything becomes new and the viewer will have to try to remember new words, new concepts, and accidentally lost the drama inherent in the first eps. After all, the past is only for explaining the question.
The flashbacks are the whole episode length reveal the mysteries, and I have said in the previous reviews, the mystery is revealed, the attractiveness is only at a ratio of 50/50.
I have a lot of respect for the stories about titan that the author tried to bring to explain the world of AOT. But no matter how hard I try, the appeal of this answer cannot be maintained at the level of the eps talk about the current battle - Shiganshina.
In particular, although the supporting characters and main characters are impressive to some extent, the only thing missing from this season is the interaction between the characters, I mean the love between them. This has not yet been shown convincingly. The characters behave too mechanically, talking only about plans, heroism, and battles, instead of gestures of intimacy or concern for one another. The part where Eren-Historia interacts in the field is a short romance, it's too little compared to the number of young boys and girls in the story.
And in the end, the main character is put into a sluggish, miserable mood, no longer connected with people. Right now, love is the only thing that brings the character to good, but this is inherently rare from the beginning.
Art is not the highlight, compared to season 1.
The ending brings many facts, many strange concepts about war, between one race and another, instead of bringing the viewer into a state of emotional satisfaction.
If anyone is looking forward to a complicated story, many questions want to be answered, here are 10 eps worth enjoying.
If anyone just wants to see exciting battles, heroic characters, they will prefer the first 5 eps.

The story is revealed, but there's been a price to pay.
I will talk about the relevant aspects of this season (first 12 eps) and rate them accordingly.
First of all, art. I don't remember there were scenes that were too special, but the art was still somewhat maintained, there were a few scenes where the art was flawed, and since my standards were already in season 1, the result was: B+, and I want to repeat that I don't like 3D art scenes
Music, there are not many special scenes, but the OP and ED songs are quite good and have emotional lyrics. The result is: A.
Story:
...
As I said above, the story of the titan is discovered, we also know a few more secrets, but maybe I prefer everything kept in a circle of mystery, and I want to say the story is pretty good, however this's not the best way to tell about titan history. I expected things to be a little more complicated. Result is: B++
Feelings: This season is still worth enjoying, and because of the great character development, the drama is still maintained, but those who are waiting for the epic titan fights will probably be a bit disappointed. A.
Character: This is probably my favorite thing about AOT. The characters are described perfectly, from the action to the emotions, the stories of the new supporting characters are told wonderfully, memorable. I could tell many good characters here: Kenny, Uri, Freida, Rod, Historia, Erwin, Hanji, even Carla, a very minor character, who died in the first episode of the first season, also left a mark. The central characters have not been properly noticed, this season is also reasonably developed, like Eren, Mikasa. Result is: A+++
Personally, perhaps from a cinematic perspective, this part deserves praise, but from the perspective of an anime with bloody titan battles, perhaps this season is a bit "gentle".

Personally, I think emotionally, this OVA doesn't reach perfection like No Regrets, but it does provide value to perfect the characters. Here is Annie and Mikasa.
In terms of art and music, I have no opinion, because I don't see anything special compared to the TV version, but the ending song of the story about Annie is too good. It's like a connection to the story, not just an ending song.
I would really recommend this OVA to everyone, especially those who feel like learning more about Annie, and confusing watching Mikasa behave. This will be the most satisfying answer for these two characters. To be honest,
...
I had high hopes for Mikasa before, but the more I watched it, the more disappointed I became, fortunately, this OVA showed me a part of Mikasa. And thanks to that, I understand her better than before.
About Annie, this story will surprise you. I don't think there is such a strange and good story like this in AOT. The only regret is that Annie's father, I had hoped he was involved in the disappearance case Annie was investigating. I mean the relation between the two families. Hope Carly doesn't meet any titans. I am quite concerned for her fate.

I would rate this season based on three factors: things that shine above expectations, things that hold up from last season, and disappointments.
The bright spots, first of all, the supporting characters, I can't believe they create such great supporting characters. Last season, it was Annie, Erwin, this season: Reiner, Krista, especially it's Ymir. Her story is truly a gem in the anime world. I almost cried when I saw her story. It is thanks to the well-described complicated side characters that the story that revolves around them is also better and worth watching. The quarrel between Reiner and Eren, Ymir is truly one of the
...
brightest scenes of this season. The battle at Utgard castle was also a bright spot. The supporting characters in survey corps all leave an impression. The scene of two groups of survey corps groping with torches in the night looking for holes in Wall Rose was dramatic and nerve-stimulating.
All the mysteries are slowly being revealed, and I can't say I'm satisfied with this. I like that every mystery is kept. However, the way the story is told is also fascinating in some ways.
Now to the things their quality have been kept from season one, first the music, although I don't like the lalala melody used in the ep 12, but the final melody in the last ep is very great. So in general, the music is still amazing. The shocking details, the plot twists are still effective. Some characters still show charm and impression, specifically: Major Hanji - oh my god she's so good, Erwin, Hannes, comrades from survey corps, these characters all have their memorable moments.
Finally, what I don't want to mention, are the disappointing points. Art, I was really looking forward to flying moments like in ep 5 of season 1, instead of the colossal titan with fake quality, and armored titan running on the plains like in the 2000s game. Please do 2D art next time, thank you. The last eps, well, I didn't like the last two eps. Although there are still interesting moments, everything is a fake mess, and in the end, Connie's the key character of the story? okay. And some of the characters are the most disappointing, they're bland, boring, fake, missing important moments, nothing special, conflicting personalities, too stagnant compared to who they were last season, not connecting with viewers: Mikasa, Levi, Eren, Armin, Bertholdt, Pixis, Jean, Sasha, Connie. Especially Mikasa, I liked and expected a lot from her.
Anyway, if it's about enjoyment value, this season still has that, so I still want to recommend it to everyone.

This is exactly the OVA I want.
When it comes to OVAs, we often think of behind-the-scenes stories, parody plays, humor, generally of a quality not equal to the main story. But this is an exception.
Along with Ilse's journal, this is a story of a higher quality, if not better than the main story.
Art still maintains its form. The views from the top of the wall are so beautiful. Get A+
Music: that soft German song won over me, and the sad melodious piano at the end of the ep 2. Score A++
Characters: Wow this is a show for the characters to shine. Levi and Erwin are
...
so well developed. Even Isabel and Farlan and the other characters show personality. Get A+++
Story: This is perhaps a profound, metaphorical and coherent story. Completeness. Score A++
Personal feelings: Levi's story is deeply sympathized, and we all understand Levi's pain. I feel like I'm watching a movie, not an anime OVA.
In short: Perfect.

These are 3 eps with completely independent content, so I will comment on each ep, of course, the art is of the same high quality as season 1, so I will not judge the art or the music.
Ep 1: The content is a new and interesting story, I think this ep is better than most of the eps in season 1. It arouses curiosity and has a strong connection with the story of titan. The survey corps characters also shine. Get A+
Ep 2: The content is half-hearted, the humor is not good and the drama is not there. Maybe it's just a relaxing ep, weirdness,
...
and that's it. Jean is ruined because of this ep. I expect an opponent of Eren, also in terms of psychological value. Get an F
Episode 3: The content is quite simple. A tribute Marco. Behind the scenes story. And especially: the characters are nothing new, nothing interesting. Simply seeing them become friends again, yes Annie... generally a fan service ep. Get a D

More than just a Titan thing
I know this is Anime with the #1 popularity so I don't feel the need to recommend it to anyone, I'm just voicing my thoughts on this anime.
Firstly about OP-ED, this is the few anime that have a variety of languages, in addition to Japanese there is also German (which matches the characters' names very well) the OP songs are epic and I'm all very excited every time. What about the music in the anime? Great, excellent, wonderfull. That is enough. Get an A
The characters in the anime, I especially like the leader characters, the main characters are also
...
interesting, but I like the supporting characters more, like Annnie for example. There are some points of compulsion, absurdity in the evolution of some characters. There are characters who have not reached their full potential. Score B.
Art. So perfect. A great look. Very impressive. Get A++
Story. This is a war between humans and titans, but there are special points, mysteries, I think a little further, it is the battle of generations of teenagers against evil, depravity, even they hide under false goodies. In the real world, it represents the desire to contribute, to live as yourself. It involves many families. I won't say more. Get an A.
Feelings. Very effective. The character's emotions are fully connected with the viewer. Especially sadness and anger. A bit ostentatious at times. But effective. Some of the characters' jokes are a bit bland. But I think they don't affect the enjoyment. The beautiful message of youth and pain can be easily misinterpreted as promoting violence and undermining tolerance. But the story has high enjoyment. Get an A
