Don't Cry, Girl. This title along with its picture got me hooked as soon as I was searching for age-gap romances and when I started reading it, it did not disappoint but the ending is another completely different story.
Basically, the reason why I gave this such a score was that this just had so much potential.
Breakdown:
Story: 6 - Fair
The parents kick her out, no reason whatsoever was explained in the manga, even the part about her not crying. (I mean, yes, she got kicked out but I can't easily sympathize since no reason was explained). I like the *green* jokes though, not gonna lie
...
about that HAHA, and honestly, the ending was too rushed, it was too sudden. Although it can't be helped since there's only one volume but I mean the ending could have been done differently and definitely better.
The jokes could not have saved the story/plotline.
Art: 10 - Outstanding
One thing that attracted me was the poster of this, the look of Taeko and I was not disappointed at all when I read the manga. It was really pleasing to the eyes plus the A+++ scanlation of the scanlators. :)) No more words except that the art is definitely a strong point in this manga.
Character: 7 - Good
Taeko was fun, her type of main character is definitely the kind that I would want to read about although the end just displeases me so much that the score for the characters had to go down.
Nudist guy was a refreshing twist to the story, definitely something that you don't see in everyday shoujo manga but you just can't see him as a 31 year old, even his actions in the end really called for a facepalm.
Enjoyment: 8 - Very Good
I enjoyed the start of this, the first few chapters, I was laughing so hard with all the jokes and the nudist guy and his friend's aloofness but the humor was really fun and with Taeko getting angry and everything. Even though the manga took a wrong turn with the ending, I still enjoyed it a lot.
Overall: 7 - Good
The thing that disappoints me so much was that this manga had SO MUCH POTENTIAL.
Even if there is only one volume, I believe a much better take on their romance could have been written (but I'm not the mangaka sooooo). The jokes and humor stood out, the art stood out, the story was kind of cliche (with all the cohabitation) but the romance part of it was the worst of all. It was rushed and it did not even feel like the guy was 31.
I just wish that this was given a lot more volumes so that the characters could have been more developed and given more depth, I really wish I could give this a higher score but I think this deserves the score (It breaks my heart. Such a rarity that you could see a shoujo manga with such green jokes and it doesn't even come out as perverted as it should have been, and let us not forget the art and the 30 year old bishies)
A lighthearted read, definitely will recommend to anyone who wants to pass their time with a one volume manga, but I will just say once again that the end was not fulfilling, even for a oneshot.

This anime is like eating a sandwich packed and full to the highest level. It looks good but somehow parts of it fall off and it's a waste.
Story:
The start was really good, even the synopsis which is why I expected a lot from this anime, expecting it to be one of the best this season even but somehow even with the cute romance part between Izumiko and Miyuki, the end really failed to leave a satisfying ending.
There's a lot of confusion in my part maybe because I haven't read the LN but that just makes it more reason that the story should be properly explained
...
especially to non-readers. Some parts left me confused: Why did this happen? What is the reason for this? Who is this person? The end was disappointing. It did not leave the feeling of completeness to the series and failed to shed some light on some things. It's like it left a lot of holes and nothing to fill it with.
I like the concept of it but it failed to deliver. 6/10
Art:
The art was the one thing that's holding me to this series. That and the fact that I don't drop series even if they are on hold for so long already. Art is one of the strongest points, not a surprise since this is from P.A. works. Sceneries are good, character art is also good. *cough*Miyuki*Cough*
9/10
Sound: OP is catchy, I don't watch the ED much and the sounds when Izumiko is dancing is also good. 8/10
Character:
7/10
Izumiko and Miyuki develops at the end. The triplets somehow make a development but at the same time I feel like there's something lacking. I just don't like the part where the characters aren't properly explained. For example, what is seriously the deal with her mother. I don't know why technology doesn't work. (or maybe I failed to catch on). Why does Wamiya and Takayanagi look the same? (Or maybe I failed to catch on that too) I don't even get the gist of the judges thing. Nevertheless, the story fails to expound more on characters, their decisions and even on the triplets.
Enjoyment:
Not gonna lie, even if the story did fail to deliver, I was still somehow kind of hooked on the plot with all the goddess thing and during the times Izumiko does great things inspite of her insecurities. One thing that I really enjoyed was Miyuki and Izumiko. I love their end, but not THE END itself. Although I would have really loved it to see them kiss at the end. :C But like I said, too much confusion so 7/10.
Overall:
6/10
Even though I love those fleeting moments with Miyuki and Izumiko and the art, the story is still an important point and I feel like it's meant a 6 (Fine) rather than a 7 (good).
I wish they had more episodes so that it wouldn't feel so fast paced and won't leave that much confusion to the watchers part.
So much potential for this to become a good anime but 12 episodes butchered it or maybe it was the story board, who knows.
A sandwich is still a sandwich and it's still fine.

Story: 9
The story is simple, thus making it easy to take in. There wasn't much of a big drama or cliche drama. I also love the relationship between Eiko and Moe and how it developed. The pacing is also good, though it was kind of fast in the end. The romance part at the end was also nice and sweet.
Art: 9
The art's also great. I wasn't accustomed to it much at first because it's different from other shoujo mangas, but it's really nice and cute and really makes reading it much fun.
Character: 8
I hated the guy at first, but I love his wittiness or
...
maybe his straightforwardness in the end. The way Moe and Narugami are around Eiko and the way they all developed in this story was nice. But I was a little bit pissed off at Narugami, I can't grasp how he did those things at first.
Enjoyment: 9
I love reading this and I know for sure that I'll reread and reread this since it's short and I just love how the story goes. Since the art is also nice, it makes me keep on going and trust me when I say that I read the manga with a smile on my face.
Overall: 9
I think I give a lot of things high scores and for me, Tomodachi no Hanashi deserves it. It's a beautiful and light story about friendship yet it also adds the sweetness of romance in it. It's quite the stress reliever actually and it's a breather from other shoujo mangas out there with not only its story but also with its art. I suggest you should try reading it, it won't take up much of your time. :D
Editing this a little bit when the extra chapter comes out. :)

After a year of hiatus and a release every 2 months, the manga is officially done.
Story
So your future self sends you a letter and everything that is written happens. It gives you advice that you have to save this guy because he isn't in the future anymore.
I've only read a few mangas but I think this kind of plot is unique. I first started this review 3 years ago and now that it's done, I'm editing it to reflect my view on it.
Since 3 years ago I've read a lot more shoujo than I did before and still, even though yes, there
...
are still cliche moments that would make you want to smack the protagonist, the other gut-wrenching, heartstring-pulling scenes are still enough for you to overlook it. (I mean really, tell me one shoujo manga that doesn't have a single cliche scene in it.)
The story also tackles with time travel and those things but even though she didn't focus on those things, the author got her point across in the end.
Art
Wow. The art. I seriously love the art in this manga. Maybe that's one of the reasons why I enjoy it so much. The characters are drawn beautifully. I have no words for the art except that I'm giving it a 10.
And three years later, the art is still truly exceptional. Takano Ichigo is amazing when it comes to drawing her characters. It's like their personality comes through with what she draws them with.
Character
The characters are really enjoyable and fun. Since it switches from the 16 year old time to the 27 year old time, we could see how they all grew up and how Kakeru changed them. There's only a few chapters out now and already we can see that the characters, especially Naho and Suwa, have the potential to really develop. Also, Kakeru since he has to struggle with a lot of things especially during his teenage years.
My favorite character is Suwa okay. You'll understand once you read it. I love how they all care for each other and how they all work together for their friend. Like what I said before, there would be a time you'd want to smack either of the protagonists, but eh, don't we all have imperfections? Anyway, their group is pretty fun and seeing them interact is pretty fun.
9 for character!
Enjoyment
Don't be fooled by the pretty art and the shoujo tag. There's also the Tragedy tag there. By the end of the second chapter, you feel these strings of emotions and come the fourth chapter, you'll be filled with giddiness. 8th chapter, your heart will hurt and at the same time you'll be surprised with the turn of events. The 19th chapter will give you the feels and the 22nd, well. The end's the end. Feel what you want to feel because there won't be anymore chapters.
I'm giving it a 9 for enjoyment.
Overall
I'm giving it somewhere between a 9 and a 10 overall. Too high?
I think it can be justified with the art, characters, and unique story line that it has.
This manga is really a refreshing feel even though it's tragedy, maybe it's the art. So if you're looking to read something new that's not your usual shoujo manga (lol cliche line), then pick this up. Just don't blame me when it will hurt so much since there's only a few chapters out and you are smothered with feels.
Maybe I should read the manga from the start again and edit this.
Hmm.
