I really liked how this manga has such a realistic feel to it and how it can still give off this lighthearted vibe. It's nowhere as heavy as other sports shounen but still manages to convey the effort and feelings of the players.

I loved the story so far, how it's not just training-match-training-match and so forth but also focuses on the players and their quirks, you get to know each one quite a bit. Moreover, it's super funny without coming over as forced or insanely stupid so the humour is definintely a big plus as well.

This manga made my heart beat really hard of excitement. Its realism, though sometimes appalling, makes this an outstanding piece of art. Not only does it convey the feel of a real streetfight but it also deals with the psychological aspects of what we'd call a thug. Before I knew, I found myself relating to the main-character, who gets pulled into this violent world and starts losing himself. This is actually the first time ever that I've felt I had to write something to a manga. Why? Because it took me in from the first page, captivated me and wouldn't let me go - I read all 82 chapters in one go. Also, it's one of only 2 manga that ever managed to make me cry.
What I thought seemed to be most important in the story was morals. What is right and what isn't plays a big role here and you get the impression that the author wants you to decide for yourself on which side you stand. I loved that it came naturally ... |
