very meh arc

While the training arc is kind of cool and there are good moments all throughout, all in all, its kind of boring. The last episode does get you hyped for the next arc though, but that's kind of the problem in itself, the next arc doesn't come out for some time.

So this arc: while probably great in the grand scheme of the story, was overall, kind of like a giant beach episode where nothing really happens, except the setup for the next arc.

Great animation still and tanjiro is still the goodest of boys, and it does do some character development here and there, ... not a bad arc but there was nothing of significance that happens until the last episode.

The Manga overall was great.

I love Watsukis art and his paneling/page layout is uniquely exceptional. The flow of the manga is really smooth and there are never moments where I feel a fight drags on too long. Some of the action pannels are sometimes hard to follow, but nothing is completely incomprehensible. He also uses a lot of Ink Splatters when Kenshin hits people but kenshin never actually cuts anyone so why would there be blood splatters? It's something I had to just accept as a stylistic choice, but it did break the immersion for me at first.

Although the story is fairly historically realistic, ... there are some fantastical things thrown in like a functioning robot puppet. The more fictional elements still feel realistic. Watsuki finds way to explain them being there in a way that is plausible for the time period.

Speaking of which, the time period is set in the historical Meiji period of Japan, where Samurai are no longer around and it is illegal to carry a sword, unless you are working for the government.I often times would, stop reading to open up a wikipedia page to look up things that were discussed in the story and he included a lot of references to the actual Japanese history. I very much enjoyed being able to learn more about japanese history through this manga.

If you like historically inspired stories and sword battles/ martial arts, you will very much like Rouroni Kenshin.
Just don't look up "Watsuki Arrested" until after you've finished the story, depending on what kind of person you are, it might lower your experience of the work.

Honestly a great little piece of fanfare that looks at a more grim version of the marineford war.

You can feel that the production team put in so much love for this little project. The art style is much prettier than the typical one piece anime episode. The story is short and sweet, but has great emotional moment's for the amount of time it gets to spend with the little girl character.

If you're a fan of One Piece, you will love this. If you haven't watched or read one piece, I'm not so sure that you will enjoy this as much, but it might still ... tug at your heartstrings a little at some parts.

The best parts of this season are the intro: Bling bang bang born, and the ending: Tokyo Way. Honestly don't even want to skip them which is a big positive. I also liked some of the characters showing off their magic powers. Some of the abilities were just cool conceptually.

That's where my compliments end. The rest of the season is the same boring jokes, one note characters, and contrived plot as previously. Only last season at least it was new. The "loser" wizard (honestly don't remember his name) almost has a character growth moment, but hes just dues ex machinaed by mash. The whole story ... just feels so unbelievable and forced, there is never a point where it doesn't go exactly where you think its gonna go.

The only reason the show has as high a rating as it does is because fanboys vote for it as 10/10 instead of giving it an honest rating.
The gags are stale, the animation itself is quite alright, but nothing spectacular. The plot is stale, the characters are one-note with no growth.

If you just want something on in the background as you're doing chores, I guess its an alright show; you won't really miss much of the plot. Otherwise, I cannot in my good conscience honestly recommend this show. 4/10

I actually don't understand how this series became as popular as it is. Is it bad? NO. Is it Great? NO. It is barely above mediocre?

The main protagonist doesn't really have any personality, his character traits are that he is strong and he likes cream puffs. The side characters are diverse in personality, but overall kind of generic. There are some giggle worthy moments between them, but nothing that had me dying of laughter or anything.

The story is just so uninteresting, the main protagonist is just OP, and he needs to pass magic school as the Valedictorian to prove to the world he is ... OP. If you think well one punch man is op and does the same thing... this is not One Punch Man, in one punch man there are character moments that make you cry and feel like the fight between the sea king and mumen rider.There are never moment's of suspense when it comes to a fight. The villains just call him weak because he doesn't use magic or he doesn't have two magic lines and then they get punched in the face. He never has to train or anything to win a fight. There is absolutely no character development at all. The main character just kind of uses a "muscle magic" move and is able to win because plot armor. There was kind of some suspense and creativity in him trying to hide the fact he cant use magic like the broom flying episode, which I actually kind of liked. But, it doesn't last.

Idk why I watched it all, because of its popularity I thought maybe it'd get better, but it is just the same jokes, the same villains, the same contrived plot.

Boring 4/10
