As I really enjoyed the first season of AoT, I was really looking forward to season 2.
All the characters involved were kind of interesting. Except of Eren.
This continues. As a person Eren is one of the most useless guys ever be on screen. He has Titan superpowers. That`s his only reason that he must live.

INstead of forcing the main story, get more background of the TItans, the city, the conspiracy, history of all, etc.

No! We are forced to watch the story of Ymir and Christa. Damn it! That`s one bunch of crap!
Yes, No, I can`t, is this the truth, I lied to me, ... to everybody bla bla....

Reiner and Berthold have potential, but at least one of them should have died, and some more story to them would have been helpful.

The whole season felt like a huge filler episode. The main red-line is still interesting and hopefully well crafted next season.

In fact it`s very clever. Season 2 was so bad that season 3 can only be amazing. The open story lines can only get good with teh 3rd one.

Just finished the whole manga a second time; Was again a binge-read within 8 days;

Got hooked on the Manga after watching the first season of the anime on Netflix; If you saw the anime you know the main direction, but there are differences, major and minor;

Basically:

* Action/War/Survival in space with mechas
* the world is a mixture of dystopian and utopian elements
* one main enemy (most of the time)
* characters are not very multi-layered; but the whole story isn't too;
... * the story does not go very, very deep
* Easy to have an overview, there is basically only one main story (survival, destroy the enemy) and very, very few sub-plots
* Happy End

MEGA-Pro for me: NO philosophical questions; NO existential questions (maybe some hints)
Thank god something like this exists!!!

Also be aware: If you are the kind of reader that needs an explanation for everything in a story, do not even start; There are so many open questions at the end, but that`s just like reality and I do not mind that; You can't get an answer for everything that happens.

I really loved it!

It´s always hard to write sth. about ones own favourite anime;

Probably the last humans fight some alien race/monsters; permanently on the edge of extinction on a gigantic space ship; Planet earth seems to be gone!

Amazing space action? Got it!

Friendship till death tears it apart? Got it!

Group dynamics? Got it!

... Slice of life? Got it!

Social problems/questions? Got it!

Comedy? Yes even that!

What else: Some romance (not finished), some conspiracy, politics etc.

All on a level where you never think it´s stupid; The MC is a little bit dense (girls) but a "battle ace". Did not find an anime yet, that was soo catchy from the beginning to the end. If at first you think the MC is an idiot, give him 2-3 episodes; he`ll get cool!

PS: Never listen to the intro song when driving on the highway; You`ll speed up automatically!

I try to sum it up:

Ecchi, Zombies, Ecchi, Action, Romance, Ecchi, Seinen due to Ecchi, Comedy and.... Ecchi + Nose bleeds! Dawn of the dead meets "Hentai"

Yes that's fairly it!

Unfortunately I have to write more!

... There are background stories for every character; some are good some are stupid.
There is some romance and a lot of zombie slashing.

The red line is: Survival! and of course some teenage problems, parental issues, love triangle, P/C.T.Z.D (post/current traumatic zombie disorder), slashing, gore, violence, martial arts... just to give you some hints! It`s no disadvantage that our main protagonists do not act that fu**ing stupid than in other zombie movies/series!

You like: animated chicks, zombies, action, comedy, group dynamic, action and mind relaxation? Check it out!

You like: Deep thoughts, politics, questions about the sense of life, religion, conspiracies? Go watch some documentary!

IS: What to say! Some guy rolls into a school full of girls! ==> Screams: Harem, Romance, Comedy, Action!

Yeah, that`s fairly it!

What to expect: Nothing! Just lay back and watch the most stupid main character (when it comes to girls!) evolve itself!

The red line is so thin that you really have to look for it with a microscope!

... Consider this anime if you are really so f**ked up from your work that you do NOT want to watch sth. with a meaning and a sense! It´s really narrowed down to a very, very, very dense MC, action, battles for nothing and a polyglotte harem!

You will definitely enjoy the meaningless plot after a hard days work/school/study/whatever week!

I really enjoyed it after a harsh week of meetings!

Got hooked on the anime on Netflix and just wanted to have more FMP! The characters are so likeable; of course they are all a lil' bit dense and teeny-weeny, but damn it, the environment they are all living is exactly the contrary! A real a**hole!

Teenage romance paired with global (counter) terrorism, battlefields, brainwash, sci-fi etc. Damn it! The only thing missing are evil aliens!

Genre mix at its finest!

Every character is explored; for me they all are quite interesting; without any sucking characters; (imo); It's also good balanced with comedy, action and serious stuff!

Action: Blasting! Battlefield like!

Romance: Yes! of course a little bit dense ... but clear from the beginning with (SPOILER:) HAPPY END! *\^_^/*

Story: Thrilling! Brain wash sci-fi meets "flat" military action!

To older readers: Do not leave cause of "shounen" genre; It's more packed into FMP!

We got following genres mixed:

Action, Space, Sci-Fi, Romance, Mecha, Military, Horror and if you want Psychology; (AND definitely DYSTOPIA!!)

Our main male protagonist: From zero to hero to asshole and then back to hero!

Our main female protagonist: From asshole to heroine!

Our main antagonists: From easy level 1 monsters (even if they encountered the whole earth and are a real thread) to more advanced level 10 jerks!

... Our settings: Earth crowded with monsters and some survivors in really, really bad shape and a space station with hardcore (cause military) hierarchy and a quite sterile feeling (with human monsters; at first!)

Movies that are mixed: Starship Troopers, Resident Evil (sorry, no Zombies), Black Hawk Down, Mutiny on the Bounty, etc.

EXTRA: Real feelings (Yes we have a love story!), real suspense, quite real human decisions (Very rare!)

Damn it; Why is the rating for this so low!!!

I tried Baccano! (Never forget the exclamation mark!!!) because it was said to be mature stuff with action and some real plot that gets you thrilled and thinking or else!

The only thing I was thinking is that it sucks really bad! The protagonists and/or antagonists are all idiots and do not have any likeable nature.
SPOILER: They are immortals trying to make some cool stuff but are all losing cuz it's just not cool!

The story telling is mixed; So you have to deal with episodes occuring at different times. Maybe it`s thought to be clever or just confusing; doesn't matter! For me quite ... all of the episodes were just boring acts happening at different times and places or universes or whatever. I was so cross after finishing this anime to waste my precious spare time on a crap like that!

Trying to send an epic message to the world but horribly failing! That would be my overall description.

The whole series itself (for me) was an obstacle I had to master to get out stronger (=nerves like steel that I sat it through!) Probably the makers want to mirror real life (without the immortal stuff). Then I have to say they really succeeded! It´s a piece of sh*t without any meaning in the whole stream of time! (But I wanted to get entertained! So: FAIL!)

I rather have another finance meeting at work than watching that show again!

One positive thing: The intro song has quite a rhythm!

Dystopian present mixed up with: Action, Comedy, Sci-Fi!!!

Human race (on the edge of distinction) fighting battle cruisers/u-boats personified as mainly "hot" chicks!

Need more? C'mon that's already enough!

Most characters are explored, even the personified battle ships while they gain some human feelings. Story is not flat and even mixed with politics and some conspiracy. Action is really going on. The logic holes are there but do not matter or are annoying.

If you want, the anime throws up some question about humanity and technologisation; The mist fleet (main antagonists) can be seen as the answer (source unknown) to keep the human race in their ... boundaries so no further violation of mother earth is possible!
If you want to think like that!!!

But you can also just enjoy the story without asking questions; Cause you already got stuffed with enough real sh*t that`s going on in the world or your everyday life!

DANGER: The ending of the anime is not proper and you will definitely get hooked on the manga!

PS: TAKAO rules!!!

Got hooked on it on Netflix! Was one of my first animes ever.
The mc is a young badass. The action is there and also good. Brothership and family issues are explored. Most of the time it's about teambuilding, working together, respecting each other etc. (Shounen stuff)

But it's really very funny to watch with hardly any episode lacking thrill and action.

Logic holes? of course!
Stupid behaviour? of course!
Weird characters? Only!
Flashback to ones own youth? Definitely!

... I got the feel that the anime does not take itself too serious; that`s quite good.

Really had some entertaining time!

Also check out the movie; Quite funny but nothing special.
