As a fan of the manga who loves it very, very much, I'm honestly rather disappointed by the adaptation. Yes, only 4 episodes have aired, so I am hoping my enjoyment will increase since I know the plot will eventually pick up.
Story: 8
Obviously I'm biased because I read the manga so I appreciate the plot more than others and know what is to come. The general premise as mentioned by others is that two guys go around and do exorcisms and are also in the process of trying to help a detective solve a long-running murder case. There is a large element of BL in
...
the way the exorcisms are conducted, and in how submissive Mikado is to Hiyakawa in all elements of their "relationship". I admit that I myself wasn't too into the story around this part of the manga and didn't really know what direction the plot was going in, but I know very well it will get better, thus why I give a generous 8. I will update if I don't feel the anime does the entire story justice.
Art: 5
Honestly, was expecting a lot better. I loved the art in the manga and the anime just does not cut it. It seems cheap and just...off in a way. I hate to be so critical but I'm just so disappointed. The creepy, dark moments in the manga are drawn beautifully but the anime is just not as effective.
Sound: 8
Nothing major to say, I overall think the OST is quite good and fits the tone very well. Definitely a highlight of the anime. Not too big of a fan of the opening, but I think the ending is great. Really good choice of voice actors too.
Character: 6.5
At this point of the anime, the two leads definitely don't seem too remarkable. I don't know what it is about the anime, but I don't enjoy Hiyakwa's character as much as in the manga. He comes off as controlling, creepy, and a little too weird. Mikado is very submissive and sometimes it's a little ridiculous to see how easily he goes along with what Hiyakawa says. I know that their characters will become better once their backstories are delved into, and I really hope the anime does a good job on that.
Enjoyment: 8
I'm generous with this because seeing it animated makes me happy nonetheless, but man do I wish it were better executed. My main issue is the pacing being wayyy too fast. I get that they only have 12 episodes but it's clear that they want to cram all 10 volumes into the season and I just don't think it's working that well. I think the characters need more time to expand upon their chemistry together and to flesh out the world in general. It just feels like you're thrust right into it all and there's just one thing after another happening so fast. But, it is still entertaining and interesting to watch. If I was unaware of the story, I would be quite curious to see what is going to happen next.
Overall: 7
If more time, care, and money were put into the anime, I feel like it could have been soooo much better than what we got. It's decent overall and it's nice to have a BL anime that has an interesting supernatural plot. But...it genuinely feels lacking. I hope that it will become better as it goes on, and will for sure update this review if I believe it does. Or if it gets worse. In general, at this point I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone unless you've read the manga or just enjoy watching any and all types of BL.

Came for the yaoi, stayed for the outstanding plot. Man, was I ever surprised.
Became interested in this manga when I saw that an anime adaptation is being made, and became further intrigued when I saw the lack of scores and reviews on its page. The plot sounded interesting enough, especially with the inclusion of yaoi. Though truthfully, I wouldn't call it completely a "yaoi" as you only see such elements (and not in the typical way) in the first couple of volumes. It is rather BL in nature, but later on the plot does overshadow this. Nevertheless, it could switch focus eventually, but I am
...
yet to see that (I'll update my review if such happens).
Story: 8.5
So, yeah, I was and continue to be really blown away by how well-written the plot is. What starts out as the two main characters going out on little exorcism jobs and cleansing curses, turns into something that was slowly being revealed all throughout the chapters. It is clear that the story was well and fully thought out, and delivered very well. In fact, I was bothered at first by how fast the manga moves in the first few chapters, with the one main character being too dramatically interested in working with the other main, but only much later did I realize the significance of this and of what was said. The integration of the side characters in the story is also very well done, with them all serving a purpose and assisting in the effective world-building. In terms of the BL elements, they are mixed in quite well and as I said, the manga becomes much more focused on the actual plot itself later on (though again not sure if this changes at the end, will update eventually). If you do want to know how the "yaoi" is conducted, I'll explain it but if you don't want to, then skip the next line :)
Basically, when the two mains do their exorcism work, the one "uses" the other by......touching the other somewhere (usually the arm) and inserting himself spiritually in order to give himself more power, causing the other to get aroused? Man idk, it's a bit vague even in the manga itself but you kinda get the idea lol
Anyways, the plot is great and only keeps getting better and better the further you read, with sprinkles of BL here and there to make it even better ;)

Really clean and beautiful in my opinion. Love how a lot of the eyes are drawn, and how well done the creepy imagery is as well, which I also was surprised by. Some pictures actually genuinely disturbed me a bit lol
Characters: 9
A solid cast of characters all with some pretty interesting backstories, with one in particular being extremely, extremely unexpected. I fear anything I say about any of the characters will be somewhat of a spoiler, since they are typically introduced earlier on but you only really get to know them slowly throughout the chapters. I have enjoyed all of them, with the side ones especially being very well done. Very interesting to see how every character clearly has their own morals and reasons for doing what they do. In terms of the mains, Hiyakawa really stands out to me as being just such a fascinating character. Well-written and a joy to see his quirks. I don't really have much to say about Mikado tbh, my only criticism is that he seemed way too fine with a man he barely knew to be using him in exorcisms like that, especially without understanding much of what was going on. Still a great character though :)
Enjoyment: 9
Haven't even finished the manga yet and I love it so much. Wasn't sure what to think of it at first, even after the first couple volumes because I couldn't tell what direction it was going in, but man did it ever develop into something special. About 25ish chapters in, I kept questioning if it really was the same manga because I couldn't believe how good it was getting. Truly a hidden gem that I am so excited to see animated.
This manga definitely deserves so much more love and attention (at least here in the west), which I expect and hope that it will receive when the anime adaptation comes out, as long as the studio does it proper justice.

TLDR: This manga is a wonderful short read that I'd highly recommend to anyone who wants something that's cute and doesn't mind a moderate amount of smut.
Story: 8
I'm not gonna say anything specific about the story since 1) others already have/the synopsis does a fine job and 2) I went into the manga not knowing much at all, and I think it was better that way. Overall the plot was quite good, nothing too crazy EXCEPT for the second/third chapters. I don't want to spoil or allude to what happens, but for me those chapters were my favourite part. The rest is still good, but
...
wow was I thrown for loop during chapter two/three.
I'd also like to mention that I loved how characters' pasts were explained and everything felt resolved at the conclusion, with no loose ends. The story flowed nicely, was never boring, and I felt the relationship between Shohei and Mito was developed very, very well.
Art: 10
What else can I say other than it's simply BEAUTIFUL. Seriously! It seems like a lot of care was put in to every panel to make it as nice as possible. Something about the art felt really refreshing and I found myself constantly admiring it.
Characters: 9
I can't think of a single thing I disliked about the characters. Shohei and Mito were wonderful mains, with Mito in particular being quite fascinating. Their dynamic and interactions were constantly entertaining (and adorable, for the most part! I'd say what it was like in the smut scenes but you'll have to see for yourself ;) ) and I really loved seeing them grow as people and have good conversations together. Now, I seriously have to mention that there's one character I couldn't get enough of and who, though I really didn't like him at first, surprisingly became my favourite. Is it a spoiler to mention him? Maybe? Well at the very least, I'll confess it was Minato. I really want to say why but for the sake of not spoiling, I won't :) Really though, I was planning on reading Therapy Game anyway, but now I'm extremely excited to read it and see more of him.
Enjoyment: 10
There really is nothing bad I can say about this manga (other than it was too short, and only one volume >.<). I had a lot of fun reading it and fell in love with all the characters and their lives. It made me laugh, smile, and gasp. I'm so glad there's a spin off, because I'd feel so sad if it all ended here.
So yeah, I love this manga. A lot. I definitely recommend it! But do know that it has a fair amount of smut, and it's very graphic. If you can tolerate that/if that's your thing, and you want a cute manga with a fun story, then you should totally read this little gem :)

Lemme just say flat-out say I absolutely adore this manga and found myself almost always smiling while reading it. Also, I'm all caught up on the English volumes, i.e. I've read the first 4 and not the newest/5th one. I might allude to spoiler-ish things but I won't outright spoil anything. Okay!
Story: 8/10
It has a really great premise, don't get me wrong, but if I'm gonna be fully honest, it's quite predictable. Lemme also say that, I swear, there were many times where a problem could have been solved if. they. just. communicated. But hey, that's life isn't it? But I digress, the story was
...
still executed extremely well! It's funny and light-hearted, with some nice serious moments here and there. But I do kind of wish there were more instances of them doing fun stakeouts like that one chapter in the middle of the second volume though haha
Art: 8/10
It's nothing AMAZING, but it's very nice nonetheless.
Characters: 10/10
Aight yeah to me, this is where it shines the most. The two leads play off each other so well, and their relationship feels very fun and natural. Nothing feels forced or uhhh problematic and the conflicts they had felt realistic (albeit yea like I said, they could have been solved in an easier/faster way but I guess that makes it more real?). The clash of their personalities is fun and they both have considerable development throughout the series, which is pretty cool. Neither of them feel like some stereotype or cookie-cutter character; they're both dynamic and have depth to them and have a lot of personality. Even the side characters, especially the two from the 3rd and 4th volumes, are really great too.
Enjoyment: 10/10
Like I said at the start, I would often be happily smiling (and laughing too, honestly) when reading this and just really loved it all. Where the story lacked, the characters carried and fully made up for it. Oh, one thing I haven't mentioned yet is that the sex scenes aren't much of a focus/they don't span that many pages, and so they don't really feel like pointless hentai. I love how the relationship feels very natural, healthy, and fun. I look forward to the story continuing in the future!
Overall, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys yaoi in any aspect or anyone who would like to get into yaoi since it's a nice, light-hearted story to start with. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I do ^^

Let me just start this by saying I decided to make this account purely because I wanted to give this a review, since there's only one so far :) Let me also say I had pretty low expectations and didn't really know what to expect from this manga and got it on a bit of a whim. I also won't spoil anything in this review!
Briefly put, I couldn't have been more surprised at how good this actually was. Considering the fact that it is a standalone manga with only six chapters, I felt that the story was done very well. The plot was what drew
...
me to it and it was overall quite interesting but a tad bit predictable.
As for the characters, I'd say they were pretty good overall, though there wasn't a whole lot of character development, which is to be kind of expected for a story of this length. Still though, the small amount that there was, was satisfying and better than I expected.
The one thing I want to say about the art is that I absolutely loved how Yamada's eyes were drawn throughout the manga. It was perfect for his character and really added to his personality.
Also, yeah, it is indeed a yaoi so uhhh yeah be prepared for that if you read it, however it's not toooo heavy of a focus until the end.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this manga for its mix of horror and yaoi and would formally give it a 7.5/10 but round it up to an 8 for the MAL rating system :)
