They are VERY different with their settings and their themes, but the way the story is told is surprisingly quite similar: Both are long epics spanning many years through the main character's life; Characters die and new characters are introduced, but the story continues.

Both tell a story about a loser in life. Both also have a same kind of dark humor style. Difference is just that Tatami Galaxy feels like NHK on drugs. Dialogue goes bulletspeed and animation is "inconsistent" and trippy. In a good way.

They have the same sort of humor: Everything is exaggerated to the max. Student council members are like the big bosses that rule the school. If you break school rules you're basically dead. Kangoku Gakuen is, however, much more graphic and daring. TL;DR Same kind of humor, Kangoku Gakuen is just much more hardcore in every way.

Both have somewhat similar looking spirits that they have to fight. Both have quirky, fun characters. The dialogue in Noragami is almost as good as in Bakemonogatari. They are both simply pleasant to listen through.
