Hey there!

I go by Shroomy. ^^

I've been focusing on going through my visual novel catalogue recently. Just recently finished playing through Chaos;Head NOAH's common route after 60 hours! I will probably play through Totono or Subahibi next.

Favourite genres: psychological, slice-of-life, horror, denpa. Barring genres, anything that evokes immense pain is good for me.

Themes I prefer: Loneliness, isolation, alienation, found family, "Doomed by the narrative".

I'm willing to give most things a chance so pretty much nothing is off limits. Dropped anime will not necessary stay dropped either.

Feel free to fr or chat with me :) I follow back as well!

Lots of stuff in my completed list i watched like 5-6 years ago. That's why you don't see many of my ratings, and also why my ratings skew high right now. I'll probably re-watch all of them at one point to determine ratings.

"A drama has a progressive thought, an emotional climax and a resolution, but our lives aren't like that. All we get day after day, are a bunch of vague anxieties that are never really resolved."

I usually rate based off enjoyment/impact and not actual criticism. So don't kill me plz for my ratings D:

☆ ☆ ☆
HOW I RATE:
9.5-10 - Masterpiece. This has inspired me and changed how I view the world. Doesn't need to be perfect, just needs to have had a big impact on me. This is purely a personal category.

9 - Outstanding. Little to no errors in execution. But doesn't hit the right buttons for me to consider it a masterpiece.

8 - Great. But has some errors in execution that are too big for it to be considered outstanding. Anime starting from this category would be definite recommendations.

7 - Good. Has interesting plot points, but there are some errors in execution that are way too jarring to go unnoticed. Anime starting from this category would be considered good.

6 - Okay. But there's some positive elements that would raise it from being just average e.g. good voice acting, nice animation, intriguing characters.

5 - Meh. Painfully mediocre in every aspect. Meaning it lacks any semblance of personality or originality.

4 - Bad. Just leaves me sad and confused after I watch each episode.

[I usually drop the anime that fall below these categories]

3 - Very bad. Same as 4 but worse.

2 - Horrible. But there are some things that prevent it from being atrocious.

1 - Absolutely atrocious. Would never watch again, even if I was held at gunpoint. The anime/manga would have to be HORRIBLE to be in this category. Which would be rare for me, because I am fairly liberal in my ratings. Also I would've probably dropped it too early for me to give this rating anyways.

Anything equal to or over a 6 means that it was enjoyable in some way for me.

Note: This might be obvious but keep in mind that I use decimal point differences as a way to rank series on a micro-scale based off enjoyment/impact. So 0.1 differences and such may not mean there was that much to criticise in between the two series (especially within the masterpiece scale), just that one series impacted me more than the other.

In other words, it's not that serious lmao

“Anywhere can be paradise as long as you have the will to live. After all, you are alive, so you will always have the chance to be happy. As long as the Sun, the Moon, and the Earth exist, everything will be all right.”

The universe has a beginning, but no end — Infinite.
The stars too have beginnings, but their power accompanies their decline — Finite.
It the wise who are the most foolish. History has taught us as much.
The fish of the sea know not the world of the land. Were they to possess wisdom, they too would experience decline.
It is more absurd that humans should surpass the speed of light than it is that fish should start living on the land.
This concerns those who have defied God’s final warning—

An epigraph of their ardor.

El Psy Kongroo.

No matter where you go, we're all connected.

Let's all love lain!
