Both have flashy animation and a great soundtrack with a group of friends brought together out of one commonality. Main character is defective in an obvious way and doesn't fit into society with trauma.

The show has a similar vibe to it with a naive, cheerful main heroine, Teresa, much like Chitanda in Hyouka. The main character, Tada, is also very similar to Oreki, and though he is more carefree than Tada he also has a childhood friend who is a polar opposite. Something that also caught my eye was the dialogue between characters, and like in Hyouka, Tada-kun has meaningful conversations that seem natural and don't have forced reactions. This sets up a relaxing vibe for the entire series and makes it more enjoyable. It is different though because at times, emotions and reactions in Tada-kun seem forced and unnatural, but that is not the majority of the time and the meaningful conversations mean a lot more to me. Additionally, the romance is much more extreme in Tada-kun, but overall, it is very similar.
