I got a similar vibe between the two stories. Both Kitchen Princess and Shinshi Doumei Cross involve brothers who have issues that are rooted in their childhood and that both feel a strong bond to the heroine of the story. Another similarity is that the heroine chooses her high school in order to find and get closer to the "prince" who saved her in the past.
