So I'm bored, and I'm really bored and I want a new manga to read. And then I find this, which seemed to have pretty decent reviews but man, they do total injustice to this series. I can say this is one of THE most crappiest of mangas I've ever read.
To make this as short as possible, I was first intrigued by this story because it was similar to Skip Beat, and I love Skip Beat. They are, however, on completely different levels. Girl wants to join entertainment industry for revenge. Heh. Unlike Skip beat, the main girl is absolutely pathetic. She's weak, has
...
no will, and is one of those shoujo heroines I loath to the core. I'll say no more about the other characters apart from the fact they all irritate me. Did I enjoy this manga? No. I kept giving it chances, but every time, it lets me down. What is up with the plot?! No straight storyline at all. I found this a complete waste of time, and I'm adding this manga to my list of 'Memorably Crappy Mangas'. The only near-to-positive thing I can say about this manga is that it has ok art. Not the best, but it isn't the worst. I hated the blushing and the expressions though. Made me want to punch the laptop screen and it took me all the will-power I could muster to refrain myself from doing so. To conclude, I give this a 2.

Is there seriously no review for this manga yet? Really? Oh well, this'll be the first one then
Story 8/10
Ok, in my honest opinion, I wasn't expecting very much from the plot. It is about a young princess, Yona, who has the a near-perfect, care-free life like any old princess would have. She has a loving emperor father, a hot cousin crush and everything she could ever ask for. But when incidents occur (basically Soo won, her cousin crush murdering her father to gain access to her throne) she is forced to leave her easy life to start a new one on the run, with only
...
the company of her annoying bodyguard (though others join later on). It isn't the most original plot, but hey, I liked it more and more when I read on, and I can say with no hesitation now that I love the story. I also liked the slow romance and the touches of comedy within a rather serious storyline. It just made me happier for some reason.
Art 9/10
The art is beautiful and very shoujo-esque. It is detailed, but not too over-the-top, and expressions are done well. What can I say? There isn't much to criticise with the art.
Character 8/10
From the storyline, I was half-expecting a weak, pathetic female lead that always had to be rescued, and would make me drop the manga within a few chapters. I am so thankful that this worry was almost non-existant in the manga. Yona started off a bit weak, but I grew to admire and love her personality which really developed the further the story went. Her desire to grow stronger, and her recognition towards her responsibilities as a princess was truly admirable, so I found. The male lead, Hak, was also very strong and loyal to Yona, no matter how much he annoys her and she annoys him. There were some characters I found irritating, but hopefully later chapters will reduce the feelings I have towards them.
Enjoyment 8/10
Yep, I enjoyed it. Interesting plot, appealing art, likeable characters, I loved it all. And hopefully it will get better later on.
Overall 8/10
I give it an 8 overall because the series is still ongoing, so I think that it would be too early to give it a 10. It has great potential though, and I hope it will continue to exceed my expectations. Recommended for fantasy/historical/slow-romance readers. For those who enjoys realistic stories about high-school etc, maybe this isn't for you, but give it a try, and see if you like it. I most certainly did.

Hmm...surprised that nobody has written a review for this manga yet. It's a cute read.
Story 8/10
It's a sweet, light-hearted story about a plain girl, Nakamura Mei, who once was a popular child model, but due to certain reasons she quit the modelling world and went on to a normal school-life. One day, while at a cafe with her friends, she bumps into a famous model, Shirou. She apologises, and that's when Shirou immediately senses something about her. Grabbing her to a private place, he mentions her past as a child model and reveals something surprising about him...and due to this meeting, Mei is suddenly dragged
...
back to the modelling world.
Not the most original story, but still quite heart-warming. People have mixed views about the ending, but personally I think it's very realistic and completely satisfying.
Art 9/10
I have always loved Takagi Shigeyoshi's art. It's so clean yet beautiful and compliments the story very well. Once again, she never fails to let me down with her art. I have always thought that her and Morie Satoshi's art was very very similar, and it turns out they're twin sisters O_O
Character 8/10
Haha, I love all the characters. I found Mei to be really sweet and charming, and Shirou's true character was quite surprising, but I still love it. All the other characters were also amusing, and I didn't have the feeling of wanting to punch the computer screen because of an irritating character, because I didn't find that any of them were. Well, maybe a few were, but they were only side-characters. The character development was quite good too; Mei grew stronger throughout the series and so did Shirou.
Enjoyment 9/10
I really enjoyed this series. It was so sweet, fluffy and touching, perfect for those who just want a light read to wash the hard feelings away. For those who want something more serious, maybe this isn't the manga to read, but even so, I found it quite memorable.
Overall, I give it an 8/10. I really wish that the series was longer, but that's my only criticism really. The ending, I found was nice, but some parts of me really do want a sequel. Ah well, good read though. Another great work, Takegi-sensei!

For some reason, this manga just happened to catch my attention when I was scanning through Mangafox for latest updates. It was a new manga and I was curious about what it was like. Taking up this manga was one of the best decisions I've ever made, manga-wise.
Story 10/10
The story is quite fresh and original and pleasant to read. Hori is one of the most popular girls in her school, but she's completely different at home. She has to act as a parent to her little brother and take over all the housework, due to her parents who are away at work. Because of this,
...
her social life is limited. However one day she meets a silent boy with glasses, Miyamura, whom everyone assumes is an otaku and a bit nerdy, but he himself is hiding a few secrets. Outside he is a friendly guy with lots of piercings and with pretty much average grades. Due to a sudden accident, they both stumble upon each others' secrets and decide to share this half of their lives with each other and develops a friendship. It is an interesting plot, and will hook you in for sure.
Art 9/10
Personal opinion here, but I think the art is amazing. Its simple, effective, clean and humorous at times. You can identify the characters easily, even though some look quite similar, and the mangaka can display facial expressions well, and not blank like some other mangas I've come across. I'd give it a 9/10.
Characters 9/10
You have to love all the characters. Hori isn't a typical airhead, she's smart, hard-working and strong-willed. Miyamura is friendly, out-going with a slight punk-ish side but he is funny and nice. Hori's little brother is amusing and irritating like brothers should be. There are still more characters to be introduced I'm sure, since there's only 4 chapters.
Enjoyment 10/10
I enjoyed it completely. Even if there are only 4 chapters.
Overall 9/10
Too soon to give it a 10, but I'd love to. So far, it has been interesting and not at all cliche. highly recommended!

This is my first review so here goes:
I stumbled upon this manga a while ago when searching for latest updates, and when I read the synopsis, it sparked interest but I had no expectations. However, after reading the first few chapters I realised how strong the plot was (even though it wasn't completely original) and how fresh it seemed.
Story 8/10
As previously mentioned, it was a strong, gripping plot and it will hook you in once it introduces the problem. A case of school bullying, in which a duo of 'invisible' youths are willing to stand up against. Touches of romance, heaps of drama and
...
humour to revive a good, meaningful shoujo. There are several mangas that are similar to Pika Ichi, such as Hana Yori Dango.
Art 9/10
One of the best artworks I've seen, it is truly amazing. You'll be laughing when you see the hilarious expressions! It isn't so detailed that you must stare at each page admiringly and forget the whole storyline, but it is satisfying and adds to the enjoyment.
Character 9/10
The male and female leads used to be what you'd call 'forgettable' and 'unnoticed' but once they witnessed the bullying, they quickly came out of their shells and built strong characters. The main bully is some what mysterious and at first you'd probably feel hate for him, but later on you'll definitely want to know more about him and his past. I came to love them all, especially the eccentric school doctor who helps the hero and heroine introduce justice to the school.
Enjoyment 8/10
I enjoyed this manga for its freshness, the clear and compelling storyline, the great artwork and the determination of the characters. It was amusing, some moments are tense enough so you could hear your heartbeat, and of course the humour and cliff-hangers would make you mad with impatience for more.
Overall, I would seriously love to give this a 10, but it is too soon, so an 8 it will have to be. A great manga to read!
