There are alot of reviews that say this series is unrelatable and unrealistic but I actually found it really comforting as an asexual person who also gets flustered by the idea of sex. It takes a very mature person to understand what relationships are wrong and not glorify them, as well as have these conversations in a healthy way. These are high schoolers who are curious, and the main girls are not overtly sexualized for appeal. It is important to note these are kids and the show acknowledges how that plays to their inexperience. Its awkward and uncomfortable in the way that adolescence is awkward

We rockin with the LGBT! No but seriously I thought this series would just be another transfem romance drama but I really love the conversations on identity and romantic feelings, it got the whole spectrum of queerness which makes my trans masc aroace heart happy. Obviously it centers around the main transfem girl and the childhood friend but it goes into depth about how feelings for others can affect your own identity or asks questions like do feelings form your identity and some great answers on self discovery in different scenarios from rejection to acceptance and many areas in between. This is the first yuri anime ive seen that has openly talked about periods, gender, and sexuality in a way that doesn’t feel mocking. Its a bit pervy considering these are middle schoolers but i do love the rehabilitation and generational fulfillment aspects of it. I wish there was more backstory explaining why mihari thought it would be better for mahiro to be a girl like some more transcoded stuff from their childhood but considering the lack of trans rep i see in media ill take what i can get.
