Blue Heaven is sure to please those who like short plots that pack a punch. At a mere 24 chapters, the themes are well developed and the story is brought to a neat conclusion.

What I liked the most about the plot of this manga was the unpredictable twist that is brought about concerning character roles. The despicable antagonist, a homicidal maniac and terrorist, who is rescued by the unsuspecting crew of a high-class cruise ship, is shown as the general bad guy for a good part of the manga's beginning. However, a cruel turn is taken when the other antagonists are introduced: people who turn ... out to be so much worse than the "demon child" that once seemed so vile.
Maybe I just have a thing for anti-heroes, but for a few moments the evil rescued killer managed to garner some affection from me.

The shortness of the manga and the strength of the plot are very attractive, and are a sweet breath of clean air after the length and watered-down plot of some mainstream mangas. Overall this is a great dark psychological thriller that is sure not to dissapoint.
