Me, several dozens chapters into a manga literally called Chichi Chichi and so far has had incest, rape as comedy, age play, hypnosis, an adult male character who looks like a child and is explicitly said to look like one, and the line "I was suddenly wearing a diaper, and your sister was insulting me while giving me a titty fuck" : maybe manga bad?
Without the rape as comedy, incest, and a main character that is pretty much the male equivalent of a 100 year demon who looks like a young girl, I could get it as an OK harem hentai manga where the plot

It is hard to write about why I dislike this manga without spoilering the ending too much.
Outside of the ending, it is mostly a normal crossdressing manga where the protagonist thinks the crossdresser is extremely cute but doesn't want to admit it. This is also true of manga where the crossdresser character is more accurately described as a trans woman but nobody in the manga seems to have ever heard of trans people. If Boy Skirt did not have the ending it did, it would be an OK if unoriginal guy falls for crossdresser manga. Usually in this sort of manga, the protagonist realizes they ... Apr 20, 2019

The manga was cut short, but I am not sad about it if the content that does exist is any indication. This manga felt like it was made on a bet to see who could make the most cis heteronormative manga.
You already have the "girly boy turned into a girl and boyish girl turned into a boy" cliche, but the manga makes it positively offensive by having the girl turned into a boy be clearly and continually stressed by it and the manga just treating it as wacky fun. Depicting gender dysphoria as just silly comedy is one of the more annoying things about ... Mar 22, 2019
This manga is a storm of offensive cliches and an awful protagonist that is vastly worse than the creator thinks he is.
Even for 2002, the treatment of the trans woman character is complete garbage. The story takes the extremely offensive "...but it is gay to want to romance her," a protagonist who should be the villain, one dimensional characters, and various other standard crossdressing/trans manga written by cis people cliches and blends them into a disgusting slurry. Even by the standards of a lot of similar manga, the manga quickly wears out the scenes where the protagonist ogles women like a sex offender. These types of stories ... Jan 31, 2019

Combining a real world thing like intersex and a slightly more grounded setting than a lot of similar gender transformation sort of manga ends up making all the standard tropes creepier than the norm is for the genre. This is a genre with a lot of extremely problematic tropes to begin.
The protagonist's decision to transition is treated as a given and his opposition to the idea when they find out that most people don't do that is overridden by their parents with bad joke justification. The reason the protagonist gives for transitioning is that they wouldn't look like a man or be able to be ... Jan 31, 2019

The story was pretty good.
Characters generally have motivations that made sense and didn't conflict with what they were doing in the story. I liked most of the characters a lot. My main problem with some characters were how they were portrayed as not being monsters like the one love interest who is a serial killer. The character became a serial killer for extremely selfish reasons and yet the manga depicts the character as being more just a regular bad boy love interest. While there is plenty of vampire on vampire murder, killing humans is a crime in the setting and they don't need to ... Jan 31, 2019

I found the story to be poor. The ending feels like it was extremely rushed. More than that, I felt the story didn't make good use of the setting. It is overall a fairly standard revenge story with a twist that feels out of nowhere and leaves a lot of questions unanswered in a very unsatisfying way rather than as something that feels intended not to be answered.
There is the occasional mention of how badly women in the country have it, but it doesn't really deal with that much and is more just in the background of the focus on revenge and as a way ... Jan 31, 2019

I really like this manga. I know it is nothing special and doesn't have much time to develop into much that is special, but it is the sort of thing I would have loved as a kid who didn't know they were trans yet.
The protagonist very much reads like a trans girl. The protagonist uses a glitch to play as a female character in the game and the character is what the protagonist thinks is an idealized version of themself. The story of a person who gets to become a female superhero in the real world and get a girlfriend thanks to playing an ... Jan 31, 2019

Overall, Utopia of Homosexuality was fine except for a few things I had a big problem with which are hard to talk about without giving some idea as to what happens towards the end.
Potential spoilers Without getting into too much detail, it has some cliches common to two best friends stories I dislike strongly. I don't think any character mentions bisexuality in the story, which makes a change in the relationship of the two main characters at the end of the story sting a lot more. I much more strongly dislike the feeling throughout much of the story that people who really care about each other ... |
