Sublime. Ethereal. A perfect movie.

Mamoru Hosada's magnum opus, "Wolf Children" depict the story of Hina raising her children, Yuki and Ame as a single mother after her husband died mysteriously. Through all of the hardship and challenges, through all of the sweat and tears, she kept struggle for life, sacrificing her time and desire, for her only hope, her child. Such a moving character.

Wolf Children is a heart-wrenching movie with an amazing character development, supreme animation, and breathtaking music score. Not a single moment is wasted, every moment, every scene is used to it's fullest potential. It teaches us how strong a mother ... figure could be, because of love for her family. I couldn't praise this movie enough, this is the movie that makes me wanted to do better in life, as a reminder someone out there have a harder life, that is why I must not complain. I certainly will revisit this movie sometime in the future.

Without a doubt Wolf Children is a storytelling masterclass.

"Knowing someone, liking someone, hating someone, feeling happy when you're with someone, feeling bored when you're with someone, holding hands with someone, hugging someone, arguing with someone. That is living. If we were alone, we wouldn't know that we exist."

I Want To Eat Your Pancreas tell story about an asocial boy accidentally knowing about Sakura his classmate's terminal disease. Knowing her life isn't that long anymore, Sakura decide to spend her remaining lifetime to do things she wanted to with our main character, although it's mostly done by forcing him. Little by little as days gone by, the feeling of comfort grew between the two ... of them, the anime suggest that the relation between them isn't a romantic one, but Haruki Shiga and Sakura Yamauchi are definitely in love with each other.

I Want To Eat Your Pancreas tackle with the idea of the value of time you spend with other people, it may be someone you loved or someone care the most. In my country the relation of someone with their God is at upmost priority, that being said, I grew up in the same environment and I considered myself pretty religious. I interpret this story as "Only God knows when you will die", that's why you got to appreciate every moment and be grateful all the time. Be happy when you are happy, celebrate every moment you can celebrate, and spend your time with those you loved, because that is what made life worth living. That is what I Want To Eat Your Pancreas about.

This manga is criminally underrated.

Ghost Writer at Twenty-Five O'clock revolves around Tsugumi, a young and talented novelist that experiencing a writer's block in his career. Until finally, he decided to go into seclusion to seek inspiration, the place Tsugumi choose is his old house, it's the house where he used to live 10 years prior from the current setting. In his seclusion, Tsugumi recollect his past memories with his dearest family, friend, and most importantly Nico, his first love.

This story is mostly about letting go and accepting yourself. Such a short read for such a beautiful story, despite the ending that was a ... bit rushed, Ghost Writer at Twenty-Five O'clock successfully deliver what it needs to be delivered. This manga featured really interesting character dynamic, backed by the absolutely stunning art, this is the type of story that can definitely be adapted as a movie.

Gankutsuou is an anime adapting a book by Alexandre Dumas, titled "The Count of Monte Cristo". The story is about Count of Monte Cristo who has been framed for a crime that he didn't commit and his revenge for those who did him wrong. This story is *impactful*, it's not just any story that offers enjoyment and exitement (not to say that those are bad), but there is a clear purpose that this anime want to told to the viewers. It's about friendship, love, freedom, and struggle.

"But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." - Matthew 5:44

Despite Gankutsuou ... being categorized as a revenge-story, at the end of the day forgiveness is what truly shines in this anime. There is nothing good comes out from hatred, one of the part of the story is when Haydée finally gets her revenge, what she got from it is not a feeling of satisfaction but a feeling guilt and sadness, and man... that is not the best moment in this anime, there are a lot of more impactful-touching-heartwrenching moment in this piece of art.
