Everyone has been trying to compare this amazing series to those who cannot be compared, Gurren Lagann and Neon Genesis Evangelion. The 3 series only have one thing in common, and that is the Mecha genre.
Darling in the Franxx does a masterful job of delving into and following through on social issues, sexuality and adolescence. Neither GL or NGE even touch on any of the aspects that DITF touched on.

I tried watching BNHA when it first aired in 2016, I got up to episode 5 and dropped it there because I couldn't deal with Izuku's crying. However recently I got back into it and I'm still not impressed. Not only did it take Izuku nearly the entire first season to stop crying, throughout both seasons he still injures himself after using his power. Even after Aikawa lectured him about control he managed to change nothing at all. He controls it in a few instances and not at all in others, I don't understand. He's had this power for over a year.
