My first manga review goes on this site to this because I'm so frustrated.
Akatsuki no Yona WAS one of my favorite mangas. This fact was changed after chapter 180. Let's get to the reasons:

The story got stuck and focused too much on the past. Mentioning the past is necessary for this story, yes, however, it continued for endless "not so well paced" chapters. It was very hard to care for those characters... In addition to that, new characters popped out everywhere. The story was mostly focused on Yona's development and we didn't get much of the old side characters anyway, even so, the ... author kept adding new ones and focused on their development. It's obviously dragging.

Yona is not that strong main character anymore: She became the pushover queen. All the character development she had gone to the garbage. Are all the past resentments about Soo-won buried under a mountain or something? His story is an interesting one but Yona and Soo-won together are not supposed to be "a thing". Her character is swept under the rug when they're together. Also, did everyone forget that she was nearly killed by his soldiers at the beginning of the story?

Main characters got separated: The reader of this manga obviously loves the main group together. Why separate them for this long?

We are nearing chapter 250. I expected the story would be finished by now but no, the author had to drag and ruin it.
I'm SO very bitter and sad to give this a 5.
