- both are pre apocalyptic fantasy anime where there is a dark mystery to be solved .. - similar way of thinking, discussing and drawing conclusions .. - both are intriguing and engaging for the viewers ..

-There's something about the female leads that makes them very similar -The setting is quite similar ( clubs, school festivals etc..) -The path that romance is taking is kinda the same (misunderstandings , bad timing ..)

to put it simply Gargantia is just a recyclation of used up anime plots not only the story but even characters are recycled and shamelessly voiced by the same seiyuu .. I can't say much cuz it counts as spoilers but I can say this much: - both are mecha set in an alternative world one where the whole planet is a desert and the other where it's fully covered with water - both have some weird technology relative to the retro feel they give off - the characters are too similar to ignore pinion X Kamina Bellows X Yoko ..etc remember, the deeper it gets the more similarities are disclosed .. so if you don't mind watching the same story with a different approach .. suit yourself

both are about troubled girls with little no self esteem both focus on the transformation of these girls ( looks & personality ) both of the guys are out of their league .. both are bullied by people they consider best friends .. the art is also very similar I thought it was the same mangaka at first if I continue I'll never stop , in short if you like one you'll most definitely like the other

both have a rich guy falling for a girl on the first sight .. both girls are almost super-naturally strong & flexible .. both feature some gang , action , romance themes .. the art of the two mangaka is kinda similar especially in other works. .

I'm surprised no one recommended this so far ..

so many that I don't know where to start .. - same setting and overall atmosphere .. - both main characters move to a new place with a difficulty to fit in .. they kinda look alike too .. ( mikado x ganta ) - both have a childhood friend , very protective and provide comic relief .. ( kida x shiro ) - both have a character with tough looks, enjoy slashing their enemies and pretty cool (shizo x crow) - both have a character that enjoys manipulating others as some sort of a game ..(Izaya x tamaki) - both have mysterious conversations under nicknames that make sense later .. - both have mentally disturbed crazy people .. - they also have some common voice actors .. (shizo x nagi, anri x shiro, celty x toto, shinra x rokuro, yoh x walker ..) - badass soundtrack ..
