I don't know what to say other than this is the best piece of media I have ever seen, and I don't think anything will ever be able to top it. I'm not even going to go into that much detail because whoever is reading this just needs to go watch this movie immediately.
This movie follows our challengers, Riko, Reg, and Nanachi as they challenge Bondrewd and the 5th layer of the abyss. Bondrewd, being the monster that he is, obviously won't make that easy on them, and as such we have this movie.
In terms of the Made in Abyss arcs, this is absolutely the
...
peak of the story thus far. All of the events that happen over the course of the journey through Idofront are so perfectly executed, I can't help but wonder how Tsukushi does it.
Anyways, the main things I like to talk about here are the soundtrack, and Bondrewd himself. The soundtrack, first of all, is perfect. I genuinely can not think of a single issue with the soundtrack, every song is incredible and perfectly fits with the tone of whatever scene it is used in, Kevin Penkin is quite possibly the best composer on earth. From The Rumble of Scientific Triumph to Riko's Motherfucking Cooking, every song in this movie is perfect.
Final thing I want to talk about is Bondrewd, so spoilers if you haven't seen the movie yet.
I genuinely can not think of a better and more interesting antagonist. In all of anime. Or even all of media itself. Even when he lays dying on the ground after losing the final fight, all he wishes for is for our group to successfully continue on their journey, no ill will, no revenge swearing, just a simple wish for their journey to be filled with curses and blessings. After all the horrible things that he had done, even Nanachi, arguably the one most affected by this horrible monster, came to a sort of mutual understanding with him, because that's just the type of person he is. He doesn't do anything out of malice, he merely just wants to know all the mysteries that the abyss has to offer, and will go to disgusting lengths to do so.
Final thoughts, as for final thoughts, I really don't have anything else to say. The movie is perfect, everything about it is perfect, the staff put their heart and soul into this and what came out was the peak of all media. Thank you Kinema Citrus, thank you Kevin Penkin, thank you Akihito Tsukushi, thank you all for the incredible experience that you have given to us. From the bottom of my heart, i love you all for your work, keep putting in the groundbreaking effort to bring this story to life.

Lucky Star... One of the all time classics and my 2nd anime ever watched. Although admittedly a lot of the references and jokes in this show likely went over my head, I still had an extremely enjoyable experience. The characters obviously have to carry the show since there is no overlying story that continues throughout the show, and boy do they do that well.
Story: 6
I'm not going to write much here, as the story does not matter the slighest bit in Lucky Star, just know that if you watch this show, it is episodic, so there is not an overarching story, episodes may not
...
seem to continue into the next, and so on.
Art: 9
The art for Lucky Star is perfect for what it is. The character designs are exactly what I would look for in a slice of life if I'm being honest, they're so unique from every other slice of life I have seen, and I really respect that. I love when studios stray from the norm in terms of character designs and it was a massive hit with Lucky Star. As expected of KyoAni, the animation is also great, much better than what I would expect for any given slice of life show, so props there are deserved.
Sound: 9
The OST/sound design didn't particularly stick out to me too much, but the work put in on the OPs and EDs is some top tier stuff. I love the way the ED has the characters singing different songs (even from other shows!) as karaoke, that is something I doubt I will ever see again, but it was extremely welcome. And the easiest one to praise, Lucky Star's opening theme will always be one of my top openings of all time, the song is one of the most catchy I have heard in a while, with extremely fun visuals to go along with it. Lucky Star's opening will always stand the test of time as one of the greats for me.
Character: 10
Considering the noticable lack of story, you would have to think a show would have to have incredible characters to make up for that gap. Well, let me be the first to tell you that Lucky Star absolutely delivers on that front. The main 4 consisting of Konata, Kagami, Tsukasa, and Miyuki is one of, if not the best set of main characters in a slice of life that I have ever seen. Konata and Kagami particularly make me laugh nearly every single time they interact, while Miyuki is hilarious (I always like clumsy characters), and Tsukasa is a very entertaining little sister character.
(Also, side note: Anybody else notice how Kagami and Tsukasa are literally Kyou and Ryou from Clannad?? The lucky star manga started publishing like, a couple months before the clannad visual novel came out, so there's no way either of them copied each other, and this has always confused me so fucking much and i need an answer)
Enjoyment: 9
While I do tend to prefer there to be some kind of story to follow in shows I watch, just watching these 4 rays of sunlight fuck aroujnd for 24 episodes straight was more than enough to keep me consistently entertained.
Overall: 9
Lucky Star is one of the most classic SoL shows out there, and for good reason. It has aged pretty damn well if you ask me, and the cast is still one of the best to be found. Obviously it's humor takes a hit if you don't get the rediculous amount of references that are just thrown around constantly, but even if you don't get them, I think you can still find tons of enjoyment from the characters and scenarios themselves.

After finally coming back due to a postponing because of COVID-19, I am glad to finally be able to write a review about this show. As of now, I am only 4 episodes deep, but so far I have thoroughly enjoyed what has been presented to me.
Story: 7
I mean, it's just cute girls fishing. Never thought I would see a slice of life about that exact topic, but I'll be damned if I say it isn't a welcome one. Sometimes slice of lives just don't land because I'm not interested at all in what the girls are doing (See Koisuru Asteroid), but I've always loved
...
fishing, so watching a bunch of cute girls go into detail about some of the specifics of fishing is very fun to watch,
Art: 8
The character designs are extremely clean, a couple times I even mention to myself how clean they look, and that is to be expected of Doga Kobo, they always managa to make some great characters with top tier designs.
Sound: 7
Sound is always a topic where as long as it isn't awful, and fits the show well enough, I'll give a 7 or above. This is one of those cases, nothing too special, but nothing that takes me out of the experience or anything.
Character: 8
As much as they likely fall into pretty generic stereotypes, I love watching this group of 4 just play around together. Natsumi particularly never fails to make me laugh, while Oono is always there to make everything feel calm and under control. Overall the characters are nothing unique or incredible, but they do their job very well for what they are.
Enjoyment: 8
I mean, it's fucking cute girls fishing. What more could you ask for?
Overall: 8
Highly recommend this to anybody who considers themselves a slice of life fan. It's super chill to watch, and who knows? Maybe it will get more people interested in fishing, which is always a good thing!

So, this quarantine has got me so bored that I think I'm gonna write reviews for some of the shit i've watched. And what better place to start than the first anime I ever watched? Yep, I didn't start out with any of the big shounens or gateway anime, I started with a fucking less than popular slice of life. Crazy, huh? Anyways, the review
Story: 7
Now, as it is a slice of life, of course the story isn't going to be anything riveting, nobody expects that. But seeing a girl with massive social anxiety was something I could very much relate to, and I could
...
appreciate that. Seeing her slowly work on overcoming her anxiety by taking on various challenges that tested her in presenting herself to the public was enjoyable for me to watch.
Art: 7
Basically all the art that is necessary for a slice of life show is enough to make some cute girls that everybody can have fun watching for whatever the runtime of the show is. Hinako Note wasn't spectacular or anything, but I think the character designs were plenty enough to get the job done that they needed to.
Sound: 8
I don't remember too much of the songs played during the show, but if memory serves correctly, they absolutely did what they needed to do, but the reason I gave sound an 8 is because I enjoyed the OP and ED a bunch. So much in fact, that they were the reason I watched the show in the first place. Heard the ED in osu! and somehow that is what ended up getting me into anime, so I think I can solidly say that the songs this show has to offer were pretty good.
Character: 9
Similar to art, if a slice of life show can have cute girls with distinct personalities, there really isn't much more that they need to do to pass in my book. Maybe I'm just easy to please, but Hinako Note's cast is more than enough to keep me entertained for 12 episodes. Also, Kuina is best girl and you can not fight me on that.
Enjoyment: 9
Obviously there's not gonna be any epic story, deeper meaning or anything of the sort, but if you can just sit down, turn the ol' brain off, and enjoy some cute girls doing cute shit, then I can absolutely recommend this show for you. It definittely isn't the best slice of life out there, but I thoroughly enjoyed it for what it was.
Overall: 9
If you're a slice of life fan, I absolutely recommend this show. Not much more to say than that for my first anime ever.
