Attack on Titan is a great show, very visceral and this show attempts to capture some of the same popularity with it even using some the same director but fails miserably. The less can be said of Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress.
The main character is your typical hot blooded mess that robs from Eren Yeager a lot. Then there's that tough action girl(Mumei) that they then proceed to ruin over the course of the show. She's definitely no Mikasa.

are mostly unlikable upside anyone from Attack on Titan. There's no Levis here who are super cool. Kurusu probably is the closest to Levi here but he's not as cool.
Now Biba when he comes up towards the end is the best part of this show hands down. This show is another case of the antagonist stealing the show pretty much towards the end.
It's also worth noting that Kabaneri lacks the complex plot of AOT and seems to just rely on action/survival horror as it's main plot until Biba shows up and he complicates matters and gives backstory on Mumei.
I mean it's worth a watch I guess for the action, just the characters are very mediocre and not worth it.
