Well This anime....
Art 7 - The art is really pretty I liked it, nothing felt out of place like all the characters belonged, and they all looked different enough to not confuse one character for another, you can see this just by looking at there eyes and face shapes. From the art we really get a sense of the characters different personality's like one of the main character's Kensuke showing every worry thought and feeling including lies on his face. There are not to many environments which does help not get to lost where you are and what the characters are suppose to be

doing can be a downside to some because not much variety. The op did annoy me but I will explain this a little later but what I did appreciate about the op and the only good thing I will say about it really is the colour choice I thought the brightness was refreshing and nice and all the colours went well together as well the character's still felt the same in the opening because of the art.
Animation 4 - if animation doesn't bother you just move down to the next paragraph. Animation has never really bothered me in anything before but at some points of the anime I felt like I was being shown a power point presentation if we take the opening as an example it is loads of pans and still frames and the very little animation going on is not very interesting, which is why I can't stand it personally because they could have done so much with an opening like that but it felt so wasted. I also can't help but laugh every time I see a character run, it is so unrealistic it feels like a parody of some one running elbows out wide animation gets really janky in these parts if you like a bit of weird animation this will be right up your ally. I feel like the animation is lack luster in general.
Character 6- As mentioned in the previous section the art really helps build on the characters and gives them so much personality and uniqueness but there are some things of note here, not all the characters were as interesting as they could have been I feel there was so much squashed potential here. There bond was apparent though and its nice to see really especially in a later episodes with Shige in the flash backs you really see the momentum of this friendship. With the back stories that are reveled you can tell why the characters act like they do but it would have been nice to find out just that little bit more about the supporting characters so we could get a sense of where they fit in. A major factor for the 6 is there could have been more development but what we got was still nice to see.
Sound 5 - Wasn't much music choice either it wasn't what I would say bad or good just bearable but the music did express the scene well and I feel it is the sort of background music that grows on you as you find out where they use it why they are using it and how it fits in to the scene but the first few times hearing it I wasn't such a big fan. I hated the op music though I am the sort of person to never skip it but this op just grated on me, I think it might have been because of the animation though. I felt for this opening it felt like it should have been more upbeat for the bright colours and images that were getting shown but it felt to slow and low energy, although music is defiantly one I recommend listening to yourself to get a true picture of it.
Story 6 - The first episode sets up a very interesting premise with the stand point of a hero, and through out the anime they kept coming back to the original story point which for people who love continuity this anime is very good because everything links together in some way from the past to the present. There were some things I personally couldn't stand like in the beginning of the series the relationship between Kensuke and Hasekura felt a bit like sexual harassment with the way Hasekura was acting towards Kensuke and also felt like he was holding his friendship over his head using that to his advantage. As well with the student and teacher relationship it is illegal no person in there right mind would ever do what they did half way through the series although this relationship still felt more real because of the buildup to the ending, with the directions the story take. The story normalizes Gay relationships rather than saying it is weird just accepting it for what it is which is refreshing to see in a genre like this, it dosn't need to be hidden, besides the student teacher part that does need hidden. The ending was worth it building up to that moment all anime it was very satisfying to see it executed at the end.
Enjoyment 5 - For my own personal enjoyment it was to be a 5 some of the smaller thing kept annoying me like the opening that pulled me away from it while having amazing things like the overarching story keeping me pulled in. I wanted to mention the comedy here because there are what I seen as funny moments and sweet moments which really make you feel just happy to be on the journey with the characters.
Overall 5 - The art and story and character really shine in this anime and if this is what you prefer about your anime it is going to be an amazing watch for you and I highly suggest so. I feel like this is an experience that most of us could pass up on though and not really have missed anything amazing from our lives but it has its sweet moments and even a bit of re watch value. If stuff like music or animation is the most important thing to you I would suggest looking the opening up separately and deciding from there or just giving this one a miss. If you decide to watch the show I hope you enjoy it and if not I hope you found something fun to watch.
