I finally got around to rewatching this show, and it's just as amazing as I remembered it from my first watch. I used to be somewhat into One Punch Man, but I could never understand why Mob Psycho wasn't as widely discussed. While it shares a very similar art style with One Punch Man, it stands out for its expressiveness in its fighting sequences and transformations. The characters are all very strange but still charming in their own ways. Even though it has been years since I was deeply into anime, this show continues to hold a special place in my mind as ... one of the most expressive and creative shows I watched when I was younger. Season 2 is on my watchlist, and I hope that the same energy from the first season carries over into the second season.

Beastars works well as a coming-of-age story with well-rounded complex characters that get you invested into their personal lives. Definitely had different feelings towards the show after rewatching it 2 years later. Then again, perspective with media changes over time. That doesn't dimmish the appreciation I have for some of the themes followed in this show. The animation style can be jarring, but not as jarring as shows like Berserk(2016) was for me with its uncanny animation. The animation occasionally will change styles for flashbacks or other specific reasons and those animation styles are quite engaging and very visually cool. It is an odd watch, ... but the characters and world are worth the time to viewers patience with the slow burn storytelling.
