There is an uncanny misconception floating around in regards to "overpowered characters" and that according to such existence the whole show is deemed bad from the get-go. Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei also fell into this rabbit hole and apparently even our savior Tatsuya can't do much to stop all the lies from spreading. I didn't mean to, but you leave me no choice - I'm putting an end to this pandemonium.
--------------------------------
After 5 years of agony waiting for a sequel with only a side-story movie put in between, the second season of Mahouka came in all of its glory featuring one of the fan-favorite protagonists in
...
all of anime and a much-loved yet inexplicably controversial show in itself. Back in 2014 when it first aired, some people with dicks in their mouths raised their hand and asked one question only: Who in Alabama made this anime - to which everyone within a 5-mile radius simultaneously answered - it is much deeper than you think and they weren't wrong at all since to understand this anime and why it matters in their life, you need a 5-year degree of stay on Facebook and 2 in their most repugnant groups so that your IQ will increase and come into the realization this anime is not simply a self-insert shtick with incest added to flavor it up.
It's about Tatsuya and his teachings that we must appreciate. The story of a simple fellow who never wanted and never thought of becoming who he is now but because of this great power he has no choice but to use it for the greater good even if it means the worst outcome for lot of. A not easy task to fulfill but one that must go until the very bottom. With him there's his sister, the core of the nonsense controversial people think it has. She's there to help her brother but whenever she's got the chance she tries to suck his dick but Tatsuya has better plans for her. He's playing the long game here and acting that he doesn't care about her in a romantic way and that he's just tempting her where in reality he's waiting for the moment Miyuki's defense is at a bare minimum so he can strike a big maneuver on her. With the advantage of 69 no imouto would be able to resist his true behavior and may God have mercy on Miyuki's pussy on that faithful night because he's gonna crush it.
--------------------------------
I saw Mahouka back in 2017 and liked it a lot, so much that it became a personal favorite of mine. At the time I had (still have) a certain love for the overpowered characters and the whole concept of Mahouka, as well as the characters and their quirky personalities, made my heart Doki-Doki (although it wasn't the first time). Tatsuya's interaction with her sister was indeed a blast - her blushing for every word her onii-sama said made me undertake a non-healthy path I never thought I'd take - to self-insert to guys like him and be successful as I've always wanted - surrounded by a bunch of girls, making them do naughty things to me or to each other, and much more I don't think you want to know. Unlike back then, I rarely do it anymore, but I still appreciate it enough to tell the tale and what a riveting tale it was. Despite my early years of watching anime and the fact at the time I could've liked perhaps everything, Raihousha-hen it's almost as good as its predecessor. It would have been better if we had gotten a 2-cour season instead. Not only we would have fleshed out some prominent characters more but because the story itself needed more time to get it done in a more impactful way, albeit it was great anyway.
Despite its predictable premise, Mahouka never goes downhill as each character is written in a nuance that enhances the story the right way but still makes the protagonist shine without making it seem forced. One of the ways they go about is the dialogue and is DONE RIGHT. Unlike LoGH who is there to pad for some time, here it has an identity within its story and not only serves as a tool to give the little exposition we need to understand the next puzzle pieces but also give some growth to them as well foreshadows what will happen to them later. While it's obvious Tatsuya has the most important role, others are no less either because without them even Tatsuya wouldn't have much against certain situations and it's a great way to show how much he growth but also that he's not simply an "overpowered character" with no purpose at all. He has his friends, his adorable sister and a bunch of other guys and honestly, that's just for the better.
Mahouka is not a bad show AND I'M ANGRY YOU DISLIKE SOMETHING I LIKE. GAH.

Works like "Peter Grill" have always intrigued me as it's never sure what its ultimate goal is.
On the one hand, it's meant for people who have a strong sexual desire to fuck anyone remotely sexy. On the other hand, it wants to satisfy all NTR fanatics. In the midst of all this, there is also rape which tied to the other two. There is no clear indication of what kind of people this is precisely targeting, but nevertheless, if you are a weird person, this may be what you are looking for.
"Peter Grill" is about Peter becoming the strongest warrior in the country
...
and as such marrying the king's daughter. Apparently, the king doesn't want Peter to marry her because he himself wants to plant his seed inside her. Yes, the king is a psycho and wants to fuck his daughter real good. If that wasn't enough, many characters, oddly all sexy, have been sent by their clan/tribe to fuck Peter because they want a strong successor among their kind, and all of this just to indirectly humiliate an innocent girl.
Now, the thing is, Peter Grill is nonsense. Not only does it shamelessly promote NTR as a good thing, but it also wants to trick us into believing that all men are like Peter, these greedy assholes who just like to fuck. The truth is, if you genuinely love someone you wouldn't betray them in any way. It ain't happening. However here it does. Why is that a thing? I'll tell you why - Peter loving Luvelia is a lie. Peter not being able to refuse any of the girls from having sex is also a lie and that he likes to do it. What pisses me off is the way the anime uses the "rape" shtick to make Peter look innocent when he is clearly strong enough to get out of any of the situations easily and unharmed. You even see him at the end of each episode spout some random quote or tell us, the audience that he still "loves" Luvelia even though he just NTR'd her.
The rest of the characters are a big mess. Nobody gets even slippery growth that would make sense and apart from Luvelia everyone is unlikable. If you are a male you are the Klein of Sword Art Online and if you are a female you are somehow interested in Peter and most likely he has fucked you already. None besides Peter, the evil mastermind he is, gets victorious. Am I supposed to root for him? Sure, he's the protagonist and all but you have to give me something to work with. Having to see a fuckboi mess with the feelings of an innocent girl is something I cannot ignore and I hope he gets the School Days ending.
All in all, Peter Grill is abysmal. Whoever thought of this must have been cucked at some point and in need to take revenge this anime came to life. Perhaps this is not even its final form and until then I may have to train very hard to get to its level. Jā.
Just skip it and listen to the ED instead.

Uzaki-Chan is fucking cute!
Stop denying the truth, folks. Accept her as your (only) waifu.
"Uzaki-chan wants to hang out" is exactly what the title suggests - just a girl who likes to have fun. It is neither deep nor unique. It is wholesome. That my guys is more than enough. I am someone who doesn't demand much from anime because by doing so I could reach a point of disappointment beyond any help, but I was utterly pleased with this and couldn't be happier.
Uzaki-chan talks about Uzaki and her senpai Shinichi spending their time together. She is this little girl with dekai tits and her
...
senpai is an associated guy. The two will love each other but never before senpai gets bullied. Although, it's sweet bullying. Something that doesn't hurt but makes you feel better. For Senpai, this is a fine task to pay to get Uzaki. He loves her but can't confess to her. He's embarrassed to even though for most of the time he stays composed. He's what I personally would call "gentleman at its finest".
Senpai loves Uzaki's dekai tits and can't live without them. They motivate him and give him a happy life he so deserves. She is sometimes indecent and this a good thing for senpai. Think about this, who would want to live for the entire life with a non-perverted girl? I personally wouldn't and fortunately, neither does senpai. He knows to have chosen the best girl ever - he knows that if he leaves her now someone else will take her and that someone else will be the happy guy instead. That mustn't happen.
Uzaki and Shinichi enjoy even the little moments that fate has prepared for them. They waste nothing and try to be happy. Does everything need a reason? No, it does not. It happens because it happens and it works because it works. Who are we to intervene in their relationship? Who are we to speak ill of them? We are nobody and we must strive to be like them - If you are in a relationship, be like them, behave like them, learn the hardships of life like them, and you too will be as happy as they are. Perhaps, this is the only way to go about.
May we one day all get a girl like Uzaki.

--- The review contains spoilers---
I hate Oregairu.
I hate its characters. I hate its themes. I hate its predictable outcomes. I hate how Yukinon always wins but others don't. I hate how everyone doesn't mind Yukinon for looking down at them instead of genuinely hating her. I hate how everyone's okay with what Yukinon says but with others not. I hate Yukinon and this fucking anime.
But, I have good reasons to back up my claims. Alright then, shall we begin?
...
My biggest problem I have with Oregairu is its premise because it's done in such a nuisance that favorite some characters more than anything. The two characters that get this treatment make everyone else look like shit because the author truly doesn't know how to write a story without resorting to that, doesn't he? I'm talking about Yukinon and Hachiman. Only these two can win. Only these two can do everything supposedly everyone's not capable of. Only these two can get the love... undeservedly of course.
Part of the main characters is also Yui who is there just for the sake of a love triangle. Yui loves Hachiman, Yukinon will love Hachiman later on and Hachiman will be the classic average light novel protagonist to make the final decision. Have these writers ever thought of making the pair evidently since the start? Like, I don't know, make Hachiman love a certain (Iroha) and make him end up with her without some superfluous drama? Yui is also a main character because she's retarded. Just like in Steins:Gate, when you have a lot of "smart" characters as part of your story it's imperative to add painfully stupid folk as well to balance everything out.
These characters are written to "help" others. I have to emphasize this because it's something that per se makes no sense. "Help" what does that mean? Like, help? I see, why though? Why would anyone need these guy's help? Why would they even accept to help anyone in the first place? Ah, I see because the whole concept of Oregairu is about adolescence. What adolescence has to do with any of this, anyway? Are you telling me that everyone going through adolescence has to get help? Why by people of the same age? Why can't people specialized in the subject take care of this? Because they don't understand them? Not true, they understand them, perfectly, but because everyone wants cute/hot girls instead we ended up with this abomination.
Oregairu is filled with a great amount of characters and among them all, only two are likable. We know that no one's getting any development so the best one could do is to determine its likability based on their personalities. Iroha and Totsuka are the chosen ones. For what's worth, they're great. Everyone else isn't. There's barely any character besides these two that isn't a dick. They all have been written in a douchebaggery way and it's worth asking why. Is it because so they could change? Well Einstein, next time you write a story of this type make sure to not focus on one of the main characters 99% of the story, kay? In doing so you might give some other characters more screentime too, you know, to cool off.
Do you know what Oregairu's purpose is? To change the two main characters' points of view. Hachiman is a secluded folk and Yukinon this douchebaggery looking-down-at-people gal that both fail to socialize with others. In other words, they like staying alone. The problem I have with this is that no one has the right to intervene in their lives and for some reason, they're forced to do this way without a single objection on their end. Even so from other characters whose the holy trinity tries to help. I also hate how the trio is so persistent when helping others. When someone says no, they don't take it for granted but keep pursuing the case until they achieve it, which - spoiler alert, they always do.
A good example would be the bar scene that features Saki. Now look, everyone knows that just because you don't finish school it doesn't necessarily mean you won't find a job, whether a good one or not. I think this goes without saying. What you also need to know is that Saki's "change" was unnatural and to prove it to you I will project myself as her and act as I would if I had been in her place; If I had been working in some part-time jobs and had seen these three mongoloids approach me, I would, of course, talk to them and perhaps answer some of their questions as well but never listen to them and quit everything because they were persistent and whatnot. I definitely cared of my family and was working for my brother. That my folks is awesome, perhaps the greatest thing ever. Do you really think some people I have barely talked to would change my mind? It's not happening. No matter what they would have said I would have never quit any of part-time jobs. Everything would have worked perfectly nonetheless. The real version of Saki instead quit everything because Yukinon did talk better. Have you noticed this trend? It's an awful trend but one nonetheless. Yukinon is so smart that she has an answer for everything. She can convince everyone because she talks better. She's Ben Shapiro of Oregairu. Not matter whom she's talking to, she'll always win. Wanna know why? Dunno, ask the author. I'm sure he's jerking off to her as we speak.
The premise to help other people is nothing new and neither interesting. Some anime (Mnemosyne) have a nice approach to the subject and most don't. Oregairu is perhaps the worst of the kind as it shamelessly does everything whatever is convenient for Hachiman and Yukinon. I understand they're the main characters but this is NOT the way to go about. They basically force everyone else to change for their own interests and everyone seems to fine with that, apparently.
Oregairu is also pretentious. You have Hachiman bombarding us with the supposedly "meaningful" quotes since the dawn of time. Yukinon from time to time does that too. "The society is bad, being secluded is better, being alone is comfortable, doing everything alone is the best solution" etcetera. These guys are stating some pretty obvious things. There's nothing to learn about when the characters say stuff a 4yo kid should know already... Wait for a second, they're 17+? Carry on!
The truth is I hate this anime with all my passion. The whole thing is the biggest lie ever. The fact that it has become so popular and lovable makes me consider life itself. Were we really created just to witnessed this piece of putrid? Is this is a sign of the end of the world? Hope so, at least we won't be encountering it again.
Final verdict:
Season 1 - Gets a 1
Season 2 - Gets a 1
Season 3 - Gets a 1
Season two is the worst followed by the third and then the first.
[in case you ain't getting the drift this is a review of the entire series. All 3 seasons in 1 review. Don't normally do this way but this is a rare exception because it features my most hated character ever - Yukinon] - [You're welcome]

Are you ready?
I'm going inside. You're so sticky and wet. I'm going all the way in. It's so warm and fits just nicely. Does it hurt? We're one now.
I'm just a mere being wandering on the hellhole that is earth and as such, I don't deserve anything worthy of praise. But when Gleipnir knocked out my doorstep I straight away knew that this was the present I've always wanted. Yes, because Gleipnir is more than an anime - it's a new experience to be witnessed at least once in our dismal life. Something that would make our hearts go full uwu.
Gleipnir isn't the usual story.
...
It's far deeper than you may initially think. In fact, I'd consider this on par with Monster. Just imagine Johan as Shuuichi and his sister, Anna as Clair. An indissoluble bond. In this case, however, they're not really brother and sister. Neither a couple nor friends. They're life--fighting for the freedom that some despicable beings have extracted from them. It's a harsh truth and yet, they don't surrender. They never will and with that only they'll make new friends. With that only, they'll have an adventure that's both fun and sad.
Gleipnir was a pleasant surprise. Because I thought to see something where the protagonist just gets some powers and with that only he'll get out of anything fairly unharmed. While I admit there's a bit of friendship power in here I would be lying if I said that the whole thing is to build on that only. Shuuichi never wanted to be in such a situation, yet he's there fighting all kinds of monsters. Without Clair, he'd be dead by now. She was an inspiration--no she was the will Shuuichi never had. Without her, he would have not done anything he has done. Isn't Clair great though? I'd say that she was the highlight of the anime. Indeed she's the best character with also the saddest backstory in the whole anime. Not only that--she won't let anyone down. If she starts caring about someone/something you bet your ass that she won't surrender until it gets that shit done. Some may consider that selfish I'd say it leads more to dedication. The dedication she has had is nothing short of a miracle.
The other characters are significantly meaningful as well. Everyone in a pretty cool fashion do what they're told to do in the first place. Some are edgy and some are not. Some are cute and some are not. Some are strong and some are not. It's a near-perfect cast of characters that exist to give our favorite duo a run for their money, which is necessary for their growth in the repugnant world they live in.
For you to understand Gleipnir you have to look beyond the obvious. Once you do that, you may come to appreciate its greatness.

[Spoiler Alert]
Never in my life have I felt so angry, depressed, displeased, irritated, and resentful as when watching this anime. It's the first time that this has happened and all because of a girl. It was not because of the hatred I felt towards her, but instead of love. The love that I had for her is not something that a mere being like me can express as she deserves but it doesn't matter, I know it's there.
Yes, I'm talking about Haru Nonaka - an 18-years-old girl whose only desire was to be loved. Did you know her Height is 153cm and Weight 42kg? You
...
probably have forgotten about that but surely I haven't. I remembered that since the first time she said it to Rikuo. The latter barely gave a shit even though, when "realistically" speaking he should have. People think "realistic" means stuff that might happen in the real world too, but without realizing everything we know is not that real, to begin with. What it really means is the way you envision it to be.
So, to make it fair I visualized myself as the main character and according to me, I'd instantly fall in love with Haru. Remember when in the first couple of minutes of the first episode Haru shows up and asks for a bento? Asking for such a thing, a cute girl with a voice of an Angel would surely make anyone fall in love. Unfortunately, in this abomination of an anime that didn't happen because the protagonist is an incompetent homunculus. He is by far the worst thing of the entire anime. Because of his inability to see through people's feelings (something he should be able to do with ease), he has made suffer over and over again Haru but the worst thing about this is that he never realized that.
When Haru said to Shinako that she wasn't going to lose to her, I immediately knew that the latter was going to be a pain in the ass. Which it turns out she was. Shinako (the main villain of the series) is the girl who had told Rikuo several times that she didn't want to date him and that they were just friends. The truth is, because of the contrived writing that doesn't turn out to be the case since you know, Rikuo has spent more time with Shinako rather than Haru, you know, the promised girl. In all of this, it also turns out Shinako has loved somebody else but in the present storyline, he is dead. As Rikuo wasn't enough to have gotten manipulated by Shinako, it also turns out she has also manipulated his once lover's little brother which it turns out, he loves Shinako, because of course, he does. Of course.
It's all confusing that serves nothing but to make Haru suffer, just for the sake of it. Is like, why? Shinako rejected Rikuo many times, yet, the two still meet but not as friends but rather as... I guess lovers? For the lack of a better term, I'll go with that. In the continuity of the story, it doesn't make any sense and it shouldn't have gone that way at all. I don't think there's anything else to talk about since it's the same stuff. Only misunderstandings that aim to solely wound Haru. Everything goes like that and It's repellent. It sickens me.
As for the finale - I would be lying if I said that I'm not happy for Haru ending up with Rikou, but there's a big NO here. There was little to no development here. It should have been more development on the two's relationship for that to work. What I saw was futile. Not worthy but Haru was at least lovely, so there's that. Still giving 1 for all the suffering Haru has gone through, though.
I'm sorry for continuously repeating "Haru" but goddammit if that's frustrating. Don't you think that way as well? You don't? It's fine - yet every time I see her being left alone, my soul gets empty. I can't avoid that. Do I really have fallen in love with her? Huh, it seems so.
