This is definitely one of my favorite shojo animes I've watched so far. The two main characters couldn't be any different, but together they make a perfect pair. Hotaru is on the search of the meaning of true love while Hananoi is looking for the one who will put him above anyone else.
Hotaru has trauma from elementary school where her best friend cut off her hair because of rumors that spread about her and a certain boy in their school. Hananoi feels neglected by his parents who work as doctors in the poorest countries of the world and don't seem to care at all about ... him.
As they get older and get to high school, fate intertwines the two unknowingly and they start dating in a "trial". Hananoi seems to have obsessive tendencies towards Hotaru and any other kind of friendship with other people. Hotaru on the other hand cherishes her family and friends and the time they spend together. After some time real feelings awake and the two begin to date officially.
In the course of the anime you can see Hananoi's development in coming to terms with the fact that he can't have Hotaru all to herself and how important friends and family can be.
I reallly enjoyed the plot of the anime and how you get to know the characters better with every episode thanks to backflashes to their childhood.

A girl wants to become a kind of virtual idol and is met with some hardships on her way. Luckily, she finds other idol-in-training friends at her school to help her overcome her struggles! I liked this anime because it was easy to watch and just gives you a good feeling. The different performed songs are really good overall. There is character development which I really appreciate and the animations are nice to look at. Do recommend for people who enjoy watching idol animes in general or for those who are looking for something cute to watch from time to time!

I actually wanted to start watching Fruits Basket after I saw an Instagram post about Rin. I found her so pretty that I wanted to watch it. The anime was pretty hyped back then so I added it to my list.
I myself was actually pretty looking forward to watching it because I love romance and the character design looked pretty neat.
Unfortunately, I did not really like it.
I can't stand Tohru at all. She's a really nice person and takes good care of the people around her and that's really good, but she's just so not understanding the situation she's in with Yuki and Kyo and ... it's making me lose my mind.
She's always apologizing and doing everything other people want her to do like SHE HAS NO FLAVOR and her voice is pretty annoying too. I also don't like her character design.
There are also some other female characters like Kagura or Kisa that I don't like. Kagura has a really weird personality and Kisa is kinda annoying.
I would rather have Hana or even Motoko as the main character because they're both pretty and they have CHARACTER, unlike Tohru.
What's also really annoying is that Tohru is kinda playing with Yuki and Kyo's feelings.

I'm looking forward to seeing Rin in the second season and I also want to know more about Yuki's and Akito's relationship.
