Just as a warning, I am not an anime lover, (funny I know because I'm on this site that was recc'd by an internet weirdo who likes hockey and all my girl friends who are strange) I wouldn't call myself a huge anime fan. BUT, I binge-watched 24 episodes in one day. For me, this series is probably Japan's 2001. Rightfully criticized for being slow paced and abstract at times but all the same leading to deeper introspection. It isn't immune by any stretch to the standards that those who watch anime expect, at times its corny/cheesy at times its very strange in it's approach

Seeing as this is one of the animated outliers on Letterboxd's top 250 narratives, I decided to check it out. Doing my due diligence I watched the TV series, which was captivating. In the end you will understand the themes and message of the movie as a standalone, but watching the TV series before hand gives a grander appreciation. While I described the TV series rashly as "Japan's 2001", Looking back on it, the series is far too cheery and cartoonish ...

The dub of this movie sucks straight up. need to rewatch the sub version. Fun themes and cool visuals. Some of the characters felt lacking but the bikes were pretty epic. I also hate the government so bonus points for that! I think kanye really liked this one but tbh he seems more like a lain guy idk i just get those vibes from him yknow? anyways this is my first MAL listing and it says i ned to have a childish 105 word count like some bullshit english class not sure whats up with that but enjoy your grammatical high horse nerds.
