After watching Ahren-San for a few episodes, I ended up seeing some similarities between it and Kaguya-sama. These cute, school-based slice of life rom coms have such similar senses of humor?! If you get laughs out of the Kaguya sama characters, you’ll likely end up enjoying Aharen-San. :)

Mystery. Struggle. Grief. Some gore. As a fan of Steins Gate, I was pleasantly surprised with Summertime and I found the shows comparable!

Both anime are great light, funny, slice of life series. If you need a comfortable, chill anime to relax to and have a few laughs, both are great options. Working’s setting is a business with the cast being coworkers. Kaguya’s setting is school with the cast being classmates.

Vampire in the Garden

So many times during the viewing of Vampire In the Garden, I thought to myself, “This feels like a sapphic version of Howl’s Moving Castle, and I love it”. The dynamic of not belonging and going off with some elegant stranger happens in both stories. The relationship development is very similar. The monster forms of our MCs are a bit similar. Both romantic interest MCs are running from their duty & position and must eventually face the music... There’s a background of war occurring during both anime. If you love Howl & Sophie, you’ll probably love Fine & Momo.

DW and KNT both go on the list of shows with lots of potential that fell short. Like they literally seem unfinished. These are really interesting, dark shounen series with a survival game element. KNT walks into the conflict by choice. DW is forced into the conflict and struggles much more, especially emotionally. Both shows have a big group of interesting side characters, and some of their backstories will be explored. MCs have an opposite sex character who influences his life.

The beginning episodes of Inuyasha really remind me of Mushishi. The settings, the otherworldly creatures causing some kind of havoc for villagers, the creative story telling, and the problem solving all have a very similar feel. I think those that grew up with Inuyasha will probably love Mushishi.

Both anime highlight the journey of self-exploration as well as the hardships societal rules could place on its citizens. Both stories are presented in an original setting. Both anime have underlying dark and adult themes dealing with adolescent characters. Both have anthropomorphic animal characters. Both have love triangles.
