Peculiar and eccentric are the only words that are used by Suzumiya Haruhi's classmates to describe her. She looks like an ordinary and beautiful girl at first glance but when she started to open her mouth you would take back the good things you said to her. During their class introduction, she stated that she isn't interested in ordinary humans and prefer to meet theoretically unbelievable beings such as aliens, time travelers, espers and sliders. All of her classmates are dumb struck and doesn't know if she's joking or not! No one even bothered to know what's going on inside her head until her seatmate,
...
Kyon, started talking to her. Her oblivious, obnoxious and arrogant behavior and also her cute face drew Kyon closer to her. During their conversation, Kyon gave Haruhi the idea to 'make something interesting' and they started to form a club known as the SOS Brigade which is the acronym for --To Save the world while Overloading it with fun Haruhi Suzumiya's Brigade-- while, literally, dragging Kyon to her unbelievable world.
From the animation studio Kyoto Animation, Melancholy is a must watch because of its one of a kind story, uniqueness and flawless animation. The animation of this top-notch because the backdrops and object are surprisingly well drawn for a character driven series. Both the animation and voice acting are nicely done which makes this a must watch. This anime is a must see for it really is a masterpiece. Oh!!! I forgot to mention the ending sequence of this series is a well choreographed one and another plus for animation because the movements are flawless and also the song it's very catchy. Based on Tanigawa Nagaru's visual novel, art by Noizi Ito, KyoAni goes all out in this highly addictive series...the surreal madness just draws you in before you know it, you're already mired in the depths of inevitable absurdness!! Laugh, cry and ponder as Haruhi and her SOS brigade blow you off with a on-of-a-kind and out of this world anime experience that should never be missed!

Strawberry Panic is a 26 episode anime series directed by Masayuki Sakoi and from the studio madhouse who also made Claymore, Cowboy Bebob, Beck:The Mongolian Chop Squad, Chobits and Death Note. I find this series entertaining but sometimes a little dragging. The animation was ok and the art....you'll get use to it. This series may not be the one of the best that Madhouse made but still it's nice to watch. The BGM used are sometimes a bit off and you'll also get use to it. Even with some flaws strawberry panic is still fun to watch because you'll get attached to some characters. I
...
pity Tamao because she was the one always helping out Nagisa and she was always the one who supports her. In the end Nagisa was with Shizuma and I think Tamao was like broken hearted. Nevertheless, the ending is still good and a bit unexpected and I liked the pairing of the characters especially Shizuma and Nagisa.
It's my first time watching a yuri series. To those who don't know what is yuri then I'll explain it briefly. Yuri in japanese, is shojo ai or in english it's like lesbianism. Back to the series, good thing that this series doesn't have intense scenes and good thing this is not hentai or else my parents would kill me for watching it. For a yuri series it is surprising that strawberry panic doesn't have a R-15 rating like Full Metal Panic TSR. All in all this show was great I enjoyed it and "kinilig" ako sa story. At the end of this series it will make you crave for more maybe because i don't know what will happened afterwards especially to the characters who wasn't able to be with someone they really love and in the end has to give up. This series in neither good nor bad and it's up to you to judge it but for me I think the show is nice to watch when you have the time.

Code Geass is a 25 episode series directed by Goro Taniguchi and written by Ichiro Okouchi. From the studio Sunrise who brought you Gundam Seed, Inuyasha and Visions of Escaflowne goes all out with this addicting series. This series is like the combination of Gundam Seed and Death Note but much more cooler. I like the story because there are many interesting plot twist and every episode you won't be bored. The pacing of the story is just right and the fight scenes are awesome. The character design is very beautiful and that is to be expected because the character designs are made by CLAMP.
...
I really love Lelouch and C.C., Lelouch is very intelligent and hot while C.C. personality have catch my attention. The first opening entitled COLORS by FLOW is very catchy and I also like the 3rd OP HITOMI NO TSUBASA by ACCESS is also nice. I don't really like the first ED song but the second AD song is ok. The voice acting is nicely done because Jun Fukuyama the one who voiced Lelouch has done a superb job and it suited the character. This anime is really one of the best and it even garnered an award because really this one is really nice. I even watched it the second time and it didn't fail to entertain me.

Let's start on what took my attention in the presentation, the animation in superb, character designs are gorgeous and music is very catchy. Like all Gonzo made anime, the visuals are very outstanding but what lack is the story because there are holes left in the story and unless there will be a sequel I can forgive them (well there is a sequel so its understandable). As a mecha show like Gundam this has less action but has comedy to make up for it. In the funny scenes you will always find Souske trying to protect Chidori by all means possible its really hilarious its
...
really hard not to laugh. In the action scenes, it is well animated and you'll find it top notch.
The characters in this series has excellent chemistry they really suit each other and that fact makes the plot holes forgivable. The love team of Souske and Chidori are one of my favorites in anime. Their relationship to one another is like on and off but that what makes their relationship interesting.
The opening song Tomorrow and the ending song Kirenai Hana by Mikuni Shimokawa is very catchy and it suits the series very well. The bgm is also nice because they fit in every scene they were put especially in the ones use during fighting scenes.
Really, there are some unanswered questions left and that left me unsatisfied. The questions like what are the purpose of Whispers? How does the black technology work? Is Gauron really dead? etc. There are so many questions that I can't write them here.
By the way, this anime is base from a light novel written by Gatoh Shoji. The studio that brought this to life is Gonzo(Vandread, Gate Keepers, Chrono Crusade) and is directed by Koichi Chigira.
Thank goodness this has a sequel and that will fill the Souske and Chidori emptiness in me. Well this anime sure isn't perfect but that's forgiven because I like the characters and visuals so I give this show a 4/5 stars not bad for a Gonzo anime.

The visuals are great but the story has more holes than a swiss cheese. I've read the manga and I like it but what the heck did they do to the story? Sometimes I really hate GONZO mainly because they are not loyal to the source material. Well I think I could praise the character designs of this show because all the girls here are adorable and cute. This show is funny sometimes but usually its annoying. It's full of panty shots and every episode you will SEE panties I guarantee you. I also have to complain about the battles because its like 'monster of
...
the day' battle and are usually defeated easily.
Fine I admit that I enjoyed the comedic scenes of this anime but I don't really like how they played the plot. The manga is way better than this so I suggest that you should just read it than waste your time watching this but if you like shows like this then I think you will quite enjoy this.
It is said that there is a second season to this anime so the fans of this show will be overjoyed by the news.
For me this show is worth 1 out of 5 stars but I think I could forgive the show a bit because I admire their character designs and I even like some characters like Mizore Shiraiyuki.

This movie is based on a light novel by Nasu Kinonko, a writer for TYPE-MOON that brought us Fate/Stay Night and Tsukihime. Before watching this movie, I've read some chapters on baka-tsuki and I find the novel confusing so I decided to read other novels from that site so in other words I watched this movie with only little knowledge but what the heck?? This show is awesome!!! Good thing I saw the torrent link in animesuki and I immediately downloaded it.
What really caught my attention in the movie was the outstanding visuals. The studio ufotable was able to make KyoAni's animation look like Gonzo.
...
It's evident that the studio was given big budget and I think they used it very well. The water effects and camera angle are so awesome that it's breathtaking. The character designs was lovely and I'm in love with a new Tsundere Ryougi Shiki. The movie is quite bloody but I think most people could tolerate it. The bloody scenes are only for just a few moments. I don't find it that gory mainly because I enjoy watching this kinds of things
The voice acting was also superb especially how Maaya Sakamoto voiced an apathetic, male sounding voice of Shiki. I really find her VA appropriate for Shiki, it fits her character.
The story was at first confusing for me because I don't really know the story. There are so many questions in my head like when did Shiki got those eyes, what happen to her, is Kokuto her love interest etc. but good thing this is a movie series so I hope the sequels will clear everything up. This movie also touches up some philosophical things about life and there are also some inspiring quotes. I like the quotes about suicide and flying vs floating. Your thoughts will get provoked by this movie, I promise you, it will left you wondering during bedtime.
The character I liked in the movie was Shiki alone because the other characters are just so-so. I like this girl, she's strong and tough and to boot that up she's also pretty and if ever she became a boy I think she's handsome. This movie is full of moe moments like the 90 seconds ice cream(Haagen Daaz) eating and the pouting Shiki at the near end.
The music/sounds was also appropriate with each scenes. The story is has an eerie athmosphere and the bgm gives more emphasis on that. During action scenes the bgm was pumped up and if it's just conversations it's slow but the mystery-eerie feelings are still there.
All in all this is the best anime movie I've watched so far. It has pretty visuals, awesome female lead and an interesting story that makes you crave for more. This movie is quite serious and it requires your concentration so you shouldn't watch it with tired minds. I really love the movie and I'm excited on the sequel because we get to see the background of Shiki and Kokuto.
The next movie is entitled Kara no Kyoukai : Murder Study (Part 1) and I've watched it already and it's also awesome. I don't know when will I be reviewing that together with the 3rd movie but I hope that I won't be possessed by the spirit of laziness so that I can make a review.

Aria Series Review
This review will cover season one up to three of Aria. Since I marathon it, it would be proper to post a review that covers every season. It would be difficult to review this one because this series is more about mood and feelings. I’m a person who finds it difficult to express what I feel into words so I hope you can bear with me.
Aria is set in Neo-Venezia, a city that resembles Venice. It is located in the planet of Aqua which is formerly known as Mars but during the 23rd century it was terra-formed and became a planet capable
...
of supporting life. Aqua became a planet engulfed by vast oceans stretching miles from one land to another so in Neo-Venezia, the main transportation is through the use of gondola. In that very city we follow the lives of apprentice undines (gondoliers) as they encounter different events and people.
The colors and hues throughout the series retained its pastel-like tone and it touches the anime’s soft theme. The character design is also well done because it compliments their personality. What really overwhelms me was the very setting which is Neo-Venezia. The absolutely crisp details are breath taking and the architectural designs are really detailed. If ever Neo-Venezia existed, I would love to live there because it has the most glorious architectural design, people there are nice and the undines are so hot so what more could you ask for? The animation is not really important in this kind of show but I was amazed because even if the animation was not that good in the first season, they made sure that Neo-Venezia will still look awesome. In the second season, the animation was a little better but in the final season the animation really kicked off. For a slice of life show, the animation in the third season is top notch. My only rant was the side shots of the characters in season two because that drawing looks kind of awkward but you’ll forgive it mainly because it’s just a minor quirk.
There’s no real plot in this series, it’s just all about the adventures, experiences and hardships of our undines. Throughout the previous series, it’s easy to believe one is watching a series of disconnected, episodic slice-of-life adventures, but in this series it becomes clear that everything in Aria connects to an overarching story about the lives of its characters. To tell you the truth, I’m not that fond of watching slice-of-life anime but after I’ve watched this I was blown away by the disarming messages that could make you appreciate little things in life, try to be a nicer person and to always look on the positive side of life. This anime is like a medicine because before I first watched this I was very stressed about what I’m doing with my life but when I watched this it, I felt better. This is the most influential series that I’ve watched so it was able to reach my top 5 favorite anime show of all time.
All the opening of this series was sung by Yui Makino and her songs was able to compliment the calm pacing of the series. I’m impressed, mainly because as the series progressing, all her songs just kept getting better and better. Even though the songs are slow it is really catchy and very calming. I even find myself humming her songs whenever I space out. In the first two season of Aria, Round Table sung the ending song and it kind of sends a message ‘see you next time’. I also love their song because after watching the anime, I don’t know it left me grinning and feeling light hearted. By the way in season two Round Table has sung two ending songs entitled “Natsumachi” and “Smile Again”. I also like those songs but I liked Rainbow better. There are also several insert songs and bgm and the scene where it was inserted are very fitting. An example of that was during the last episode of ‘the origination’, I think I cried 3 times in that episode because the bgm was very fitting especially in the scene where Akari thought that Alicia already left (that was a tear jerker scene). I would also like to add the insert song during the retirement ceremony was also fitting and that was also a tear jerker scene. I’m trying so hard not to cry but in the end I cried. It’s the first time I cried this much while watching an anime series because usually I could hold back my tears (that’s my talent, keeping my emotions to myself). Unfortunately, the third ending song was not sung by Round Table instead Akino Arai sung the song Kin no Nami Sen no Nami. I don’t hate that song it’s just that I find it a bit inferior to other ED of this anime. Nevertheless, I still like it after listening to it a couple of times.
This series has been awesome mainly because the characterization was superb. I was able to relate to the characters especially Aika. I think you could also relate to them because they are just like any human beings living their lives and having some flaws. It’s very rare to find an anime that has good characterization that’s why I’ve gotta praise Aria for being able to accomplish that. My favorite character would be Akari because she is very optimistic and she sees everything positively. I also admire her honesty because she could easily open up to others and due to her positive attitude she could attract other persons to her side. My second favorite would be Alice because at first she is afraid of opening up to others but because of Akari, she was able to become a bit more friendly. Even though she is a genius she has a cute side like doing some ridiculous challenges. Sigh, to tell you the truth I like all the characters of Aria but those two are my favorite.
The voice actors of the series really suited each of the characters. They did a good job but I noticed that most of the main voice actors of this series have only starred in few series. Even though they are not famous they were able to bring to life the characters with their skills. I like the voice actor of Alicia and her memorable “ara, ara *giggle*” and also Aika’s “Hazukashii serifu Kinshi!.
I really enjoyed this show because every episode was able to make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. It even made me appreciate little things in life and to have a optimistic world view. If I could compile each and every one of the quotes in this series I would because I was able to relate to it. At first I thought the lessons in this series are for kids but as you ponder about it, it is really directed at older audience. Who says anime is only entertainment? Anime could teach you lessons that you can’t learn in real life and this series proved that. I think everyone could enjoy Aria for a price of opening their hearts. Most people doesn’t like this kind of show but I tell you, even if you find some lines in this series cheesy, you’ll be disarmed because of the show’s honesty. I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone because not all people like this kind of show, all I could say is if you feel stressed watch an episode or two and you’ll feel light hearted. I think this type of series should not be marathoned because you’ll end up sleeping because of its calming mood. How can I describe it? Arghhhh!!! Just watch it…..it’s really difficult to convey it into words. Overall, I love Aria and I’m sad that it ended already. Thank You Aria…..
