Contains spoilers!
Taiso Zamurai had a really good premise, a series about Aragaki who is a gimnast but now seems to have lost his touch and for everyone around him except for his daughter it's his time to retire.
The characters overall are really ok, Leo in particular has a very good background story and the way he interacted with Rei was cute and nice. The ninja setting was kinda weird, but after the first 3 episodes you get used to it.
My problem with the series is that we never really explored the relationship between Jotaro and Leo, they never had to time to talk about their
...
ideals and inspirations, and the only moment they tried to do it, was short and rushed. I thought that maybe Jotaro would learn some of his moves by watching Leo dance, but it was not even close to that, everything was just "you can do it"and "motivation" and that was something Jotaro didn't need to begin with (Rei was already giving him that kind of support), he needed inspiration to try new things, something fresh for someone used to doing the same thing.
Also what about the main rival? well... nothing? I mean we didn't actually get to know about him, he was just there and his competitiveness was just because he somehow admired Jotaro? I think he deserved more screentime to get to care a little bit about him.
Also that last chapter was meh! really! the weird idea of chasing Leo to the airport, unnecessary. The super grandma customed car, the girl who somehow knew kung fu? everything was out of place.
The series is entertaining and fun; has some great moments, but just that, could have been better.

It started so good, I was really into the story and characters until the entire manga became two subplots: shipping and combat.
The artstyle is really unique, the scenery and the characters were so great drawn, the character design is a little confusing at the beginning, but after some chapters you get used to it. The jokes were really ok and the characters were interesting, until I got to the last arcs of the series...
Beware I made a whole rant and it contains spoilers.
...
The story started pretty good, presenting the cast with our main character being Nagate in his fight against the mysterious beings called Gauna. I really liked the interaction between the characters in the first arcs, it was fluent, you got to know them well, and there was also a very scientific background to everything that it was being added to Sidonia, the experiments they conducted on Gauna.
The part where the plot started to decrease was when the first chimera was introduced. Tsumugi was not a bad character since she was there to show that in some way a Gauna with human mind could be helpful to Sidonia.
Why didn't the story focus on that?, explaining what were the Gauna to begin with, what was their purpose, how did the Ochiai's mind work, why the Gauna were attracted to the Higgs particles! nothing was explained in the end! it was a whole mess!
The subplot of romance between Nagate and Tsumugi was so disgusting and horrible, she was a newborn child! and she was the child of Hoshijiro's mutated Gauna's placenta!! come on! it was extremely forced, if the Gauna ended up not being bad but beings trying to learn from humans or something, maybe the shipping could have worked; but it was not like that.
Nagate is such a horrible MC, I mean he felt in love with Hoshijiro and was sooo into her as to fell in love with the placenta that resembled her. When she was abducted I though he would react like a normal human being... but nope, he forgot about her and focused on Tsumugi. He was the best pilot of Sidonia and it was obvious, he never failed. Every reckless decision he made was considered ok and always ended up in victory. He was too perfect!
Ochiai was the bad guy just because! I mean I would have prefered to ended up with humans contacting the Gauna and learning more from them, understanding or even decided to leave the energy resource to stop them from coming. But no...
Suddenly the story became a harem where every single girl was fighting over Nagate's attention, even the AI robot. After episode 45 or something the series stopped being interesting, it became a chore to finish it. The pages were all explanations of how the weapons of Sidonia were made of, whole chapters focused on destroying a single Gauna (with too many shots from the information HQ received) and the ending was the worst of all. Nagate ended up with Tsumugi, who suddenly didn't die (not even by being totally incinerated by a star's energy) and ended up turning human. Izana (who became a women for Nagate) ended up with a Yuhata who decided to turn into a boy for some reason, I mean she was always showed to have interest in man.
Ughh it was horrible! wouldn't recommend the series at all, that ending was the worst. After it started being realistic and scientific, it ended up being like fantasy story where everything works, killing the villian saved everyone and even the imposible ship was made canon.

SPOILERS WARNING
Ok so practically this anime took the idea from Wotakoi (Love is hard for an otaku) and adapted it for "science people" I mean the fact that the science is taken too far is what made the anime not so enjoyable for me...
Some jokes can be ok, but having a bunch of scientists work really hard to explain something that was too obvious made them look so stupid.
The main characters are boring, just scientists that are too intelligent for being normal high school students, a super cute but "strong" girl, the super smart but small and cute girl and the dork who shouldn't be
...
in the club to begin with!
I think that watching those two trying to accomplish love by experiments made me feel so awkward! Specially when they started trying kissing and dating. I have to say that even that could have been more enjoyable if the characters were a little bit more human, showing more than the steoreotype they are based on; but there was nothing relatable about them.
They even had to add a "crazy mangaka" as the villian in order to get those two to kiss! I mean, you don't need a villian to make a love story work! you just need more time for the characters to accept how the feel, experience more together and all that, not that cliche part of:
"Oh no she broke her gift for him! she runs away (even though being so smart she decided to run like crazy) and trips, Oh no! he has to go and save her!"
That was over the top even for an basic anime like this one.
It can be fun at times, specially if you get the formulas and ideas they are talking about, the animation is ok but the art is really generic.
If you like science you may find this one a little bit entertaining, but If you want something more relatable and more of a love story then there are plenty more and a lot better that this one.

SPOILERS ALERT
Mmm there's nothing much to say about this anime, it was boring and predictable...
The main character acts like a child when its already a College student; she needs everybody to help her, she doesn't even have a clue where to find her friend despite being friends for so long! I also found her voice to be really annoying.
The final episodes were really bad, her friend lied to her and she didn't noticed (obviously to get more tension in the last episode) and the classical let's run to her, trip and get motivation to get there.
The characters also cry a lot for someone they just
...
met, I mean with Itsuki is reasonable but even the guy from the shop?
Also the trauma Itsuki had after the earthquake was not being able to draw again? I mean its ok but I thought she was scared because of the earthquake?!! The whole "I thought you hated me" I mean why would she? she doesn't even know you can't draw again!! why would she hate you if she came all the way to look for you? That's just to add emotional but nonsense value to the plot!
The series is trying too much to be cute and charming that the plot and characters get nowhere, they don't develop, they just cry...
Also the music was actually pretty bad, the ending song was good but the music they played during a "funny scene" was irritating!
The only thing I liked about the series was the art, it was colorful, like a paiting and the animation was ok.

The series is fun to watch, it has an interesting concept and overall you can enjoy watching it.
The best character is the assistant, that girl had feelings, development and a lot to tell. I really loved her story and it made me teary when watching it.
The world had a great concept, but it needed more episodes to explain better how everything worked.
The stories of the people that get to Quindecim were really good, nice way to tell them and a lot of deepness in the death idea. I did enjoy that part of the series.
The main problem I had with the series was that it
...
was too short, it didn't have enough time to develop the main characters. I wanted to see the grow of Decim a lot more than it was. He ended up fulfilling the job of the stereotype butler that is too serious and never smiles, I wanted to see him experience more emotions: happiness, sadness, hatred, fear, loneliness. At least giving him one per episode could have made him a lot more lovable in the last episode.
Also, I think some characters were unnecessary for the series (Ginti for example did nothing but stealing a complete chapter for nothing, no development, no background, nothing)
Oculus with his weird powers had nothing and did nothing to the story, just being there trying to play billiards with Nona.
Mayu was annoying and had too much screen time for being nothing but a client.
Nona was an interesting character, but we got nothing about her, not her origin, we didn't get to know what her job was (just being the boss?)
So overall I think it's an enjoyable series, not the best but the worst. It could be fixed easily by adding more chapters to develop the main cast, the world and the idea of being arbiters.
