Oh where to start with Nisekoi? This anime was all over the place from the very start but it definitely became worse towards the end. It wasn't all bad though, so keep your mind open.

The storyline was non-existent, at best. There was little effort put into actually making it believable and worthy of anyone's time, and it definitely showed. So two students are "forced" to pretend to be boyfriend and girlfriend in order for their mob families to get along. That was such a cheap trick to create romance I could barely swallow it. This manga was nicely written. It was not predictable and it didn't preach. The characters were flawed and real, made good and bad decisions and suffered the consequences. Being someone who had to go through similar situations and emotions, I thought those were played really well.

Up until the ending, that is. I found it quite cliché and unbelievable. I found it forced into the type of ending that would please the crowd and rather than the one which followed the storyline. It was like the mangaka felt the need to change the course of action too suddenly for me to be satisfied.

Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo is one of those mangas you pick up and can't put back down. At first I was not expecting a lot from it; the storyline seemed overplayed and the overall feeling was that I would be reading something cute and nice enough to keep me entertained for a while.

But Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo is a lot more than that. Sure, the story is not extremely original, but if there's something that I've learned from life is that it doesn't matter if you're the first to come up with an idea - what matters is if you're the best at ...
