Addicting. It's all I can use to describe this manga.
from the amazing art to the likable characters, i could not stop reading it! I literally finished it within 2 days and now I'm feeling down wishing there was more.
art: 10
But honestly , this really was a great read. the art is clean, beautiful, and just so attractive. within each page you can tell how delicate the mangaka was and how they took their time drawing out such breathtaking images.
story: 9
cliche romance manga, but it has it's own unique touch on it that really distinguishes it from other manga. "Daytime Shooting Star", I really liked
...
that. In later on chapters you kinda forget about the main characters love for these shooting stars but I really like how they connect it from how the phrase is used in the beginning of the story and repeated in the end. It brings a nostalgic feeling and I loved the feeling of the story being completed in such a cute way.
character: 10
I must say, most romance manga characters annoy the hell out of me and it all comes down to the personality of the main lead characters. You are given a chance to see every single character develop and mature through each chapter and I really enjoyed that. Especially the main, Suzume, was unaware of what love truly is but she goes through many obstacles to figure out that really, she must look within herself for the answer. Other characters such as Satsuki (the sensei) also had great character development, and I liked how Suzume's friends off to the side also grew along with her as well.
Enjoyment: 10
I loved each and every single chapter, no matter the circumstance or situation that was going on. Serious chapters would get my heart racing, because this manga really does have a lot of twists and turns and you never know what's going to happen next. But then on the other hand, serious situations for the most part turn into hilarious ones (especially when Yuyuka is involved) and you will never be dissatisfied. Personally, even when I didn't like what was going on, I would still get excited for the next chapter because this manga is just so enjoyable that at that point, I didn't care about my own feelings. I just wanted more!
Overall: 10
I would give it a 9.5 but that's not an option :P
I just want to finish this on one point; the ending. I know a lot of people didn't like it, which is understandable. Most manga endings leave a lot of people unsatisfied and left hurt because they spent so much time reading it, only to get utterly depressed because the ending wasn't up to par.
Don't let this turn you off from reading, the ending was done in a way that tried to give each character an ending that that was satisfiable in terms to their journey in the story... and for that I believe the ending was wonderful given the limitations that the author was given.
So if the ending dissatisfies you, I'm sure that there will be countless of of moments in Hirunaka no Ryuusei that you hold dear and you can go back and relive.
Hirunaka no Ryuusei overall has been an amazing and addictive read and I had a tremendous time reading it from start to finish. I highly recommend this manga to romance lovers!

I have to be honest, when I first watched this anime through I was going through a phase of loving reverse harem animes where the main lead girl was surrounded by hot, attractive guys.... and this anime was just that.
I liked it, but when I looked back at what I had watched I realized it had quite a lot of flaws. I don't like writing super long reviews, so I'll talk about one thing.
The main lead is a cute girl, and luckily enough she ends up having all these attractive step brothers. They all want a taste of her... and no matter how much
...
they annoy/or sexually harass her... she does frickin nothing?? she is the most emotionless lead character in an anime I've ever watched in my life. she'll blush and just stare into the face of the boy, saying nothing because she's either too "shocked" or "surprised" at the current events going on. It just bothers me that she had no personality, because the premise of this show wasn't too bad. I was left feeling disappointed by the end but I don't know what else I was expecting.

This manga started out amazing, it was paced well and the romance wasn't going super fast. Usually slow romances bore me, but this one, aside from not being the slowest romance manga out there, actually entertains you throughout each chapter giving you just enough as it leads up to the romance.
What bothers me is (spoiler?) chapter 37. Don't worry, I won't say anything.
It's just, I read it all the way up until what is released so far and I've started to feel disappointed. The manga doesn't have any plot to be honest, it gives you something new in each volume to entertain us. My problem
...
is that it went from being an innocent, slow paced romance into something completely different. My guess is that the author is having a tough time figuring out where she wants the story to go, and is just throwing in whatever she can think of to get readers excited and surprised. But when you start a manga one way, you must finish it that way. The feelings I had for the manga are slowly changing, and for the worse. I just hope it takes a positive turn, for the sake of the romance being depicted in this manga to have a happy, well thought out ending.

I absolutley LOVED this anime. I had high hopes for it since the beginning, and it didn't let me down. I have put a hold on the manga for a while but this just reintroduced me back into the world of Ao Haru Ride.
I really wanted to give this a 10, but it just didn't meet my FULL expectations. It's probably because all the good stuff happen later on and they just couldn't put it into 12 episodes, but oh well. I really hope it gets a season 2, the series deserves that. I over all really enjoyed the story and character development. Futaba and
...
Koa have a really nice relationship between them both, and to see how desperate Futaba and the rest of them want to help Koa, a boy in a horrible place with himself, warms my heart.
