When I think about School Days, I think about my memories of high school when I would walk across the hall and how I would hang out with others in lunch time. Not anymore. Not ever since watching this series, where everything just went straight to hell. Literally.
Story 10/10
The title is quite deceiving, I wish they would add Horror & Psychological into the genre tag because it fits both genre's pretty well. Though it may not have the monster/demon aspect to it, the psychological part of this series is why it is so horrifyingly disturbing. Makoto Iko is a simple high school student, just
...
like everyone else, and has a crush on a beautiful girl while also having a good friendship with another friend. Though he eventually develops this relationship, his other friend (who happens to be a girl) falls for him as well, though it just doesn't end there..
Art 10/10
The art in this series was EXTREMELY GOOD. And there were even points when the art set the mood of some of the most disturbing scenes I have ever seen of students. I believe the Art was a huge factor when it came to those psychological experiences because it set the tone for a large part of the series. There were never lively colors during serious scenes, and the color of the sky even set the tone as well. Excellent.
Sound 9/10
Oh God. The music, was just disturbingly good. It was as if I was watching a horror movie with suspense while on the edge of my seat. Though I still wanted to know what was going to happen, the music just set the tone and made the horrifying scenes all the more disturbing and creepy in essence. The ending theme music even set the tone as well.
Character 10/10
When I first started watching this series, I thought to myself, "Oh great another guy who is just loved by every girl". But this wasn't just the case. Makoto is probably one of the most disgusting characters, and strangely even with his personality, girls were able to fall for him. He had a trait not a lot of main "hero" characters had which was selfishness, where as typically in SCHOOL Harems, the male character would be polite, selfless, and friendly. Makoto was the complete opposite, which made his character much more appealing than it needed to be. The two girl characters also played an extreme that I never expected, especially the girl that Makoto fell for in the train. The extremities were unbelievable in these main characters and there was a point where even I thought I couldn't finish this series anymore.
Enjoyment 9/10
I was going to give this a 1 or a 2 until I saw the caption of each rating. This anime was far from a dreadful or pathetic anime, but it was absolutely awful in a sense of a memory you just cant leave behind. I did enjoy this anime though, as it kept me to the edge of my seat while waiting for the main character to hopefully die. I was impressed with how this series turned out. Completely unexpected, and still gives me the creeps sometimes...
Overall 10/10
Yes, I'm giving this series, a 10. As much as I absolutely hate watching horror/psychological, whereas this anime fit both moods, it surprised in a good way. I was surprised especially on how the story came out and it ended in the strangest and weirdest ways that I wish I could just throw away in memory for the rest of my life. I did find it enjoyable though. For those of you who love Horror/Psychological/School/HowLoveTurnsToShit, this one is for you. If not, well... you heard it here first. Goodluck..

Probably one of the most curious movies that I have seen of anime. Second to Ghost of the Fireflies in terms of a psychological uncomfortable feelings. I have never been perplexed to go more in detail of a storyline ever since the Clannad series.
Story 10/10
The story of Evangelion 1.0 features a 14 year old young boy in a post apocalyptic world where humanity lives in fear of each and every day. After arriving at a destination, he gets thrown into a situation of misery, destruction and death in every essence. After his confrontation with the genocidal machine, he lives each day trying to understand
...
his purpose in life while trying to fulfill the responsibilities that have unfortunately have been thrown unto him. I found the story incredibly unique. Though machines were a typical part of the machina genre(obviously), it is rare to find a machina genre featured in the post-apocalyptic era. Especially one that is heartbreakingly satisfying such as this movie.
Art 8/10
I was perplexed to give this a 7 or a 6 until I watched the original anime Neon Genesis Evangelion and saw a couple changes. The Art in this anime wasn't up to par with beautiful art work, and even while watching the original anime (which was made in 1995), I couldn't tell the difference. The couple changes; however, were subtle which urged me to give it a higher rating than it should have, though the Art portion isn't the main fact that I am interested in.
Sound 10/10
The music in this anime was quite relatable, especially the ending song which kept the mood of "What the fuck just happened?". After watching the movie, and perhaps listening to the ending theme song, I was urged to watch the original series which made me understand the world of Evangelion much more.
Character 10/10
I'm pretty picky with my characters, and I don't tend to like a whole lot of generic characters, especially the ones that play into the "perfect" stereotype, but Shinji Ikari was a character that was both a character I hated and felt pity for. Having both of those traits isn't easy on a character, as viewers would usually lean towards hating the character, but in this case, the movie portrayed him more as a character that should have been understood. As he is thrown into a world he doesn't understand, while still developing at a young age is a lot to take for his character and Shinji was an extremely believable character to believe in. The psychological effects, horror, confusion, and frustration all tied up to a perfectly imperfect character in Shinji.
Enjoyment 10/10
I was utterly hooked. Not only did I start watching the original anime series, but I have also finished the first half of the series that night. The series did show a little more depth, but the movie portrayed the anime perfectly. I believe that Shinji will be a character that I will be able to understand in the long run. Perhaps it is due to these unbelievable circumstances that I may have been hooked on this series in the first place.
Overall 10/10
I enjoyed this movie, a lot. I don't have the best attention span when it comes to movies, and at first, I was a bit thrown off with the whole post-apocalyptic genre with machines. Evangelion, however; did not disappoint. After being thrown in the horrific world of Evangelion, I find myself wanting to dive in deeper into the story and into the character of Shinji Ikari. Hopefully you find satisfaction in this series as I have.

This is my first review, so hopefully I don't say anything to out of place. I've heard a lot about Macross from a lot of my classmates and I decided that I wanted to take a shot at it. I will say that I was not disappointed at all.
Story 8/10
The story of Macross Frontier features colonies of people that are scattered around the galaxy in mega-sized domes similar to earth. The story overall wasn't completely original. Hostile Aliens threatening to exterminate the human race. Mecha units that are reminiscent to StarScream of the Transformer series. The thing that caught my eye was how music
...
played a huge factor in the series. Macross has always had a history of having music have a large impact and in this case, music was an integral part. At times, there were moments when the series would sometimes get a little corny, but it was tolerable with some great action scenes that came with it. In my opinion, Macross has never made Jets look so cool.
Art 10/10
The Art in Frontier is pretty good to stay the least. The visuals were excellent, and since I was able to find a website that had pretty good quality in it, I was able to enjoy it much more. There were a decent amount of scenes that had the characters emotions shown quite vividly.
Sound 10/10
Macross has always been known for its music, and in this case it wasn't any different. The music was pretty catchy, especially the songs that were sung by Nakajima Megumi. I even downloaded one of the soundtracks. One of my favorite songs from her now is Seikan Hikou. The opening and ending songs were pretty catchy too which led me to enjoy the series even more.
Character 7/10
This is probably the only drop off point for me. The main character Alto is a pretty generic character that has been featured in a whole lot of series. He may have a few bravado moments, but he its the fact that he is completely oblivious to the feelings of the female characters that frustrates me. The next main character Sheryl Nome/Norm is one of the two heroines and she is a little bit more decent. She hides her true feelings with strength and seeing flashbacks of her past shows some reasons why. Though as I have stated above, I am still unsure how she can fall for a character such as Alto. The final main character Ranza Mei is the only reason why Im rating the character portion a 7. She is adorable to say the least, and her personality fits her character a lot. Since she is deemed adorable, she is one of the most likeable characters in the series. Though she may fall off as the damsel in distress at times, she does have some moments where she shows that she even has her own moments of a "fighting spirit".
Enjoyment 10/10
Even though the main cast may not have been perfect. I absolutely loved the fighting scenes. I even found it even more interesting how the much music was a large part of it which made me enjoy it anymore. Though Macross has been doing this for awhile, it has always been quite ambitious for them to have songs a part of an intense fighting scene. Some of the music that was a part of the fighting scenes were quite catchy as well which made the dog fights that much more enjoyable.
Overall 9/10
I was inclined to first give this a 8, but this is a series that I would definitely love to watch again. My only regret would be that I have not watched a whole lot of Macross and this is the first series that I have watched. I will probably watch the rest of the Macross Series in order to understand the universe much more.
