Is it worth it? Of course. You are not going to regret watching this anime. Give it a chance!
Now being more detailed. If I had written a review up to chapter 6, I would have scored it higher. It had very good pacing, was a little bit fast but consistent, and that's what I worry about the most.
Sadly, towards the last 3 chapters, and especially the last one, it feels rushed, and there are some characters' decisions that I don't understand anymore. I don't like when their progress goes backward without good reason, at least that's what I feel.
The show was definitely one chapter short,

I'm gonna keep it short: I think this movie is genius. It fixes almost all problems with 3.0. If you are into it (meaning, watching videos that explain what happens with every Rebuild movie), you should definitely see it. If not, maybe leave it for another time, don't watch this movie just to pass the time.
Now, for a more thorough opinion, sadly, I can't really separate this movie from the whole Rebuild experience, so I have to score it as such. As someone who watched NGE, who watched a bunch of videos explaining the changes between the original series and Rebuild up to the second film, ... |
