This is my first review!
Story : ★★★☆☆
I do think Iruma taking the mantle of the young boss is an interesting premise, given that the Iruma (we all know and love) is a pure and innocent soul, incapable of inflicting harm. But that's the issue. I'd much rather have the gruesome nature of meddling in the mafia business challenge Iruma's whole identity more, and gradually morph his fantastical beliefs to a more realistic one. Obviously, I can't foresee if future chapters tackle this issue so I'll leave it at that. If having Iruma be the same positive beacon of optimism is your cup of tea,
...
I genuinely recommend you give this spin-off a read.
Characters: ★★★★☆
The personalities of the characters remain rather the same here, just in a different environment. I'll rate some of the characters:
Alice (4/5) : I like how the author tried to introduce a interesting background for Alice, having him work double-time.
Iruma (3/5) : This is my personal preference. I just don't really like how they did Iruma here. He has his cool moments and I'd like to see more of that.
Clara (4.5/5) : I really like her introduction and her personality. However, shes TOO much like the source material Clara (really childish). I'd like to see her have more serious moments.
Opera (4.5/5): I like his more "wild" and destructive personality, he's interesting and I'd be interested to learning about his history.
Art: ★★★★★
The art is wonderful. I really enjoyed my read-though. I found Clara and Opera to be the most well drawn characters out of the bunch.
CONCLUSION:
If you are a fan of this franchise, I 100% recommend you give this a read. Even if you're not, it's still a unique story with captivating art.
