Rilakkuma to Kaoru-san
|
An old claymation Russian cartoon that got dubbed into Japanese. Cheburashka is a little guy who winds up on some man's door step in a box of oranges and then he becomes friends with a crocodile. A little weirder/darker than RtK, but that's because it's a series of Soviet-era cartoons and you can see the decline of the Soviet Union in them. Still oddly sweet in it's own way, you'll like it if you like the animation style and the meandering, slice-of-life plotlines.

In Mademoiselle Butterfly, a young woman is in love with her neighbor whose trade is illegal (he is a tattoo artist during the Showa Era when tattooing was a crime).
