Over the 5 years, this season was honestly the best season for me. Every minute, every second, every single scene, expression, and sound was perfect in making my heart clench with excitement, worry and hope.
Despite being a solid Haikyu (anime) fan from the very beginning, I went in expecting a mediocre season, since pure matches-only seasons, in my opinion, tend to get draggy and boring, and maybe to some, this season was that for them. But not for me. Although you can tell that they're systematically going over each character one by one to try to give each of them a back story of
...
sorts, it does not feel "for the sake of it", but actually builds on the progress of the match. I felt that each time a flashback or a cut scene occurs, it was very well timed and did not disrupt the flow of the match. When one is watching a sports anime, usually what's most prominent is the sense of anticipation and //hope// to win. This was especially prominent in this season. Surprisingly, even the background music was very well timed to build on that sense of anticipation.
What I love the most this season was seeing the characters I love and even the new characters, grow and develop. Sometimes, the make the mistakes that you would expect from them, and it either makes me laugh or worry, and in the next moment, they do the unexpected, built from the many lessons that they have learnt over the previous seasons, and even from right at that moment, and it's so so beautiful.
Without giving any spoilers; Hinata was truly the ace this season, and I love him so much, as well as both teams. It was a heart-pounding experience. Please give this season a try.

Story: 10/10
Art: 10/10
Character: 10/10
Enjoyment: 10/10
Overall: 9/10 (because the story has yet to advance far enough for me to give a perfect score)
As of Chapter 4.5:
This story is really cute, much like Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, but with a developing relationship instead of a crush. It also has a pair of side characters that seem to have a very good relationship.
Characters are really relatable and very cute. Hirotaka (main male) is a little dense occassionally, but not to the extent of ignorance, so he won't make you annoyed at how nothing seems to be moving in the story.
...
The main characters were originally friends before they became lovers, so the relationship was not rushed, but seem to developed at a reasonable pace thus far.
Art is clean and beautiful and the occasional coloured pages only add on to the beauty.
The story made my heart dokidoki because all four characters were simply adorable.
So please give this manga a try!
(will update this review as the story goes)

A slow start for the story while characters were introduced, this story built up into something truely heartwarming.
The plot idea, as most who are interested to read this manga can tell, is very original and you probably have yet to read anything like this. However, I do feel that the story lacked a tiny bit of development in terms of the plot. And if you want to see very lovey
...
dovey scenes, well you won't get it from this manga (you'll get really heartwarming scenes though, which i feel is just as good)
The characters are very unique and what made me come to love this manga is the character development, especially in the later part of the manga (since, as i said earlier, the manga started pretty slow and slowly built up). The main (male) character slowly came to be (and love) himself for who he really is through the different experience with his friends and other characters.
What I love the most from this manga is how every character is developed, not so much so that it is overly draggy, but enough for you to understand their actions and how they change. See, character development right here for you. While the side characters were being developed, the main characters weren't left out either, and you could see the relationship between each character grow.
Art was beautiful too. Look at it. Enough said.
If you have time and some patience (to get through the front part of background infomation and slow build up) please pick up this manga. I promise you you will not regret it.
Honestly I dropped this manga for a bit after the front part because of how slow it was, but when i picked it up again boy did i regret dropping it. So if you ever get bored of it, just stop reading it and leave it for another time.
ps. it's quite funny here and there too, especially with how "manly" Ryo is and how Asuka can just randomly break out with sparkling eyes (he's so cute!!)

I won't lie, I was full-on bawling every episode. You don't need to like shounen-ai, since the main theme of the anime is about being human. How love, pain, sadness and memories make us, us. In each episode, the Hybrid Child will lead the main character to realise this importance through the heart wrenching stories.
The Story, Plot, and Character were really well done. You could feel yourself as the characters, understand their reasoning, their pain and happiness. even though the first two stories were only ~20minutes each, the story was not cut short and the characters were not under-developed.
...
Each story was wonderfully portrayed and beautiful. Though quite loosely so, each of the stories are linked together by the characters and when you finish all 4 episodes, you will truly understand the beauty of the emotions and memories of the characters.
The music accompanying the anime were chosen properly and played at the right time, making you feel the plot and character even more. The art was pretty well drawn too, although not perfect, was good enough to describe the character and plot wonderfully. (Doesn't kill your eyes in any ways as well)
Overall, I recommend it to everyone, whether you are into shounen-ai genre or not. This anime is definitely worth watching.

Will avoid any spoilers as much as possible so stay with me on this haha
First review on MAL and also one of the few animes that I watched skeptically at first since it isn't my main genre and I did see quite an extensive amount of bad reviews about it, although there were quite a few good ones too.
Guilty Crown was, as many as said before, a hit or miss. If it miss, you'll be left bewildered at what just happened and curse your heart out at the "horribly done plot and character development" This would especially be so if you didn't understand what was
...
going on, or was really confused throughout the story, since this anime leaves some open questions for you and many of the plot development were left unexplained only to be answered much later. But even then, it may all be twisted all over again, and you'll be left unable to understand what is going on. Or you may just not agree with the way it is done, because you hate these kind of ambiguous plot (even though you understood it pretty well).
However, if it was a hit for you, well good luck to you, to say the least. You'll feel your heart be torn out of your body, thrown into walls, and then being handed back to you at the end of the anime. Prepare yourself, because this anime is not for the weak hearted. It is a beautiful gem, beautiful on the outside, but touch it, and its sharp edges will cut you.
I'll stop this nonsense of a description now and go on to the main part which you are reading for.
Story: 9/10
Despite all the praises I gave to the plot, there are, of course, certain things I do not agree with. Since the whole story was done within a mere 22episodes (sounds like a lot, but really it's short for how much more this plot could have went). However, I do feel that Production I.G and all the producers did an amazing job on bringing the story through all the way to the end and finally summing it up amazingly.
The summary seemed somewhat simply for all the action-genre lovers, but it's not just about the action (done very well too, if i'm allowed to say so), but also about the development between characters. It touches not just simply about "hero"s and "villain"s, but built on these characters to bring out things like sadness, loneliness, guilt, trust, friendship, and most of all, Love. Not just simply a relationship form of love, but also family love, between family not of the same blood, love for friends, and just love. Say any more and i'll end up giving the story to you, so i'll leave it as that. But believe me when I say that, although the plot may seem rushed and unclear at first, if you choose to be patient and watch through the end, you'll be rewarded. Greatly.
Art and Sound 10/10
I think almost everyone can agree that the art and sound were pretty good. The graphics were very well done for an action anime, clear and not confusing in the least. The music, however, might be dependent on your own taste and thus may or may not be to your liking. The main song is repeated in crucial places throughout the anime to bring out the emotion of the character (only for you to fully understand the song right at the end finale). But if you really hated the song, having it repeated through the anime will be a pain for you. It was enjoyable music for me though, so the music, as well as the bgm, only brought more tears to my eyes. Sound effects were just as amazing too, gotta see it to believe it.
Character 10/10
I think the character development was the one thing that I loved the most in this anime. Characters were almost never stagnant throughout the story, developing and growing continuously. Interactions with different people and all the experiences changed them, as it would have in real life. People affected them, experience changed them, guilt consumed them, loss stripped them bare, then love build them up again as the characters gained a new found confidence and try once again to save what had saved them. Typical sounding character development, yet done so well that "wonderful" would be an understatement.
But once again, it may be this overflowing character development that overwhelmed you and thus make you come to hate this "confusing" character because he/she changes "too fast". Your own judgement.
Enjoyment 10/10
As you should be able to tell by now if you managed to read till this point, I really love this anime and how the plot, art, sound and character fused together to make this spectacular anime. Little to no plot holes were available (if there is, it could be "solved" with some thinking and assumption/inference made with the knowledge of how the characters are like,) and no characters were left behind the development on both the plot and characters as everything was blended together.
Overall 10/10
This anime is one that touches the hearts of many or leave a bad taste in your mouth. However, this anime is definitely worth the try, and whether you like or hate it, in the end, it will definitely be an unforgettable anime.
Hope my review was able to help you decide on when you'll watch this anime HAHA
P.s. bet you'll fall in love with the side character "villains" ;)
