Anyone who calls this a love story is out of their minds. This is a manga about two psychotic and truly mentally troubled individuals. Case and point the male lead nearly drowns the female lead by chapter 2 as a power move. All the characters except the female lead's secondary love interest are awful human beings, the secondary love interest being the direct opposite and the only good and upstanding person in the manga, so obviously she obliterates his heart and NTRs him.
Reading this manga will not leave you feeling happy. You will finish it and hate the characters. It is an amazing manga
...
but the enjoyment factor is abysmal.

This anime had a good premise and very good animation but it all went kind of down hill. The characters are enjoyable but complete stereotypes and lack depth and there are so many shonen cliches and not even the good ones. One of the most annoying ones was that obviously the first two executioners we meet are extremely skilled and strong, whilst when hoards of them show up they become fodder...

In other words this show had a quite a bit of potential but didn't come close to it. 7/10

Everyone who says this anime is awful is 100% correct. Should you still watch it? Yes! Whilst being objectively a very bad anime it is so bad that it is hilarious. It is seriously, and probably unintentionally, one of the funniest animes I have ever seen.
Look the story is generic trash, the art is also trash with just a few OK fight scenes, the sound is surprisingly good, characters are also trash and yet the enjoyment is great. I don't even think there has ever been an anime that has made me laugh out loud as many times as this one.
The bizareness of the
...
dialogue, the plot holes, and just how the overpowered MC deals with things in an over the top fashion makes this anime ridiculous. You can't help by laugh at how bad it is. The MC seriously defeats an enemy with his heart beat and literally picks up a castle and throws it around. It's so stupid it's peak comedy.
So yeah give it a try if you can laugh at stupidity.

I have just read Nana to Kaoru and Nana to Kaoru: Black Label back to back and whilst I found the original work to be Great the sequel is lack luster. On it's own or as a side story not set after the events of the original I'd probably say it's very good but as a sequel it is flawed. I have two main issues with Black Label as a sequel. The first is the change of setting from their Highschool and normal lives to a countryside house. The second is the focus on SM rather than on the relationship. Let me explain what I
...
mean.
The main conflict of Nana to Kaoru is Kaoru's own feelings of inadequacy. He feels that he cannot walk as an equal with Nana but not in their SM sessions but in society itself. What is important to Kaoru is not the SM itself, it's always been about being able to be with Nana. To love her openly, to always be with her, to not obstacle her dreams and to be recognized as someone who can do that. That recognition is society's recognition. It's not Nana's. Remove society and there is no reason why Kaoru couldn't be with Nana as there would be no one to judge their differences. Through their "breathing" sessions both are quite aware of how they feel for each other, they doubt but they also know. Ergo, the problem isn't Nana or her feelings towards Kaoru. The problem is how society wouldn't accept them because on paper Nana is way out of his league.
The change of setting and the focus on SM in Black Label do absolutely nothing to deal with this main issue nor progress their relationship. Everything in Black Label is done far away from the societal scrutiny of their daily lives. Sure, there is the own societal view of the country side where Black Label takes place and it has a more favorable view upon Nana and Kaoru being together but it is too removed from their actual lives. Kaoru needs society to accept him as someone who could be with Nana and that was exactly what was beginning to happen at the end of the original work.
A proper sequel should have resolved the remaining issues of the original work. The setting should have been that of the end of high school or beginning of University to answer the question, what will happen once high school is over? Will Koaru have managed to catch up his studies in order to follow Nana to university? Will society accept him as someone who can be with Nana? Will Koaru and Nana ever voice their feelings? Will they start dating as Koaru would like? Black Label makes very little headway in answering any of these questions.
Instead the focus is on the SM, with Kaoru and Nana learning from Sarashina (The SM writer Koaru adores) and Tachibana (the beautiful sex store manager who helped our MC in the original work). The two of them have had a SM relationship for 10 years and are completely in love. Yet, they don't voice their insecurities and feelings, leaving it to their SM sessions to transmit their feelings. By the end of Black Label, they do voice their love, insecurities, and feelings and as such develop as an ordinary couple rather than just their role as Dom and Sub. Despite this bloody example of preaching one thing but acting the opposite and finally reaching happiness Nana and Kaoru learn nothing. They still can't voice their love and therefore everything is left to their SM sessions to transmit their feelings. They do kiss as part of their SM session so I guess there is some progress in that department. However, it remains as something they can only do as part of their SM routine and therefore has only a limited impact on their relationship.
As in the original the art and characters are very good.

I've just read 14 chapters but this is an amazing story. It is a thriller that will stand the test of time. The entire set up is 100% believable and the traits of the MC make sense given his passion for murder mysteries and sales abilities. He's a quick thinker and excellent bullshiter and liar. You will get hooked as the stakes are high and he is far from overpowered, using his brain and skills to manipulate all the antagonists involved. If he makes one mistake he is dead, which is what keeps you reading. So far there are no hail marries nor deux ex-machina
...
to save the day. Everything depends on the MC's knowledge and abilities.
The worst aspect is the art and it is far from bad, being good in the least. Everything that happens is clear and easy to process. The drawings are rooted in realism, which helps with keeping the story believable.

Well, so far I have found the other reviews to be to extreme, which is what prompted me to write this review.
Is this manga good? Well, that depends on taste but regardless it shouldn't be getting anything less than a 5 nor anything more than an 8 regardless of an individual's taste. This is due to reviews containing at least a few objective parameters or else they become meaningless.
I'd like to start by saying that this isn't a think very hard manga. You're supposed to go with the flow of the story and enjoy it for it's sadistic revenge elements. This is what the
...
manga set out to do and does rather well. If you can't do that, then this wasn't meant for you.
I'll address the complaints I saw:
The major complaints seem to stem from the Hero's healing power. As it is actually explained in the first 5 or so chapters, the hero's ability isn't so much to heal. What it does exactly is undo time, whilst letting the hero experience the injury he is undoing. Through the "experiencing" the hero gains access to the person's memories, which allows him to learn some of the skills of the person and learn their info. In turn this allows the hero's stats to get boosted. The author does take liberties with this but so do most manga authors with their power systems. Overall, I don't think the MC's powers are so hard to get your head wrapped around of.
The exchanging of fluids with the heroes leads to stat boosts and that applies to all the heroes but the MC gets raped the most because he is initially weak, which allows him to be abused, which leads to the revenge story. The other heroes are strong to begin with and in a way or other related to the royalty so they go under no risk of rape due to the consequences of doing so.
Story: 7
The story is a sadistic revenge fantasy. The MC who is classified as a hero healer has the power I stated above but in the original run he gets abducted and drugged to the point he is completely addicted, and loses his mind, by the princess hero of the Kingdom. What follows is four years in which he is raped, beaten, tortured, and treated worse than a beast by anyone who wants to. This leads to him wanting revenge not only against his main abusers: the princess hero and the other heroes but also against the entirety of the kingdom itself. At the end of those four years, in the final battle against the demon king he is able to squash his addiction and regain his mind. Through regaining control of his will and body, he understands the various abilities he has gained and how he can use his healing abilities in combat. This leads to him defeating the demon king and using his heart, which acts as a magic amplifier, to 'heal' the world and turn back time by four years. There he begins his revenge, starting with the princess, by torturing her, raping her, and then altering her memories to alter her personality and make her his willing slave. From then on he begins his plans to bring down the entire kingdom.
Art: 6
The art is pretty bland. The details and artistic emphasis are left to the scenes which belong in a doujin. However, overall the art isn't bad, just not particularly detailed. As such it is clear and it is easy to follow the plot and fight scenes.
Characters: 7
The author allows you to see the transformation of the MC as a do-gooder village orphan to a man guided solely by sadistic revenge. He wants to see the world burn and whilst he won't hurt innocents for no reason he takes their deaths as further motivation for his revenge. The rest of the characters, well they redefine evil. Only when they meet someone even worse can you see their redeeming qualities as some of them have limits to their evil actions whilst others do not. Then there are the characters that the MC recruits in his revenge plan and whilst they constitute a typical harem, that is not their first role. Their first role is as useful companions needed for the MC to get his revenge.
Enjoyment: 8
You either laugh at how fucked up the plot and characters are or you revel in the revenge fantasy or a bit of both. Regardless, highly entertaining. The protagonist is dark gray morally and those are my favorite types as I see them the most human and natural.

So with only 8 Chapters out I have to give this a 6/10 overall but I don't see its potential going above an 8/10 and this is best case scenario.
The set up is ludicrous mostly because for some unexplained reason everyone remains oblivious to the MC dressing the female lead in her underwear even when it is the middle of class. For the rest it's kind of funny and interesting but you have to get past the first two chapters. However, past that the plot has a lot more to do with the character dynamics and the development of the MC from the lowest
...
of the lowest in academic and physical ability to someone who will probably reach the top. How the plot will develop seems to be pretty obvious. The MC will gain confidence and ability thanks to the help of the female lead and in the end they will end up dating. No big surprise. Maybe her future fixing abilities will come into play as in Mirai Niki like this isn't the first time she has co-opted the MC into spending time with her.
The art is the best thing so far. It is not exceptional but a strong 8/10.
Character 7/10.
MC is bland so far but will gain a lot of development as that seems to be the central plot line. The Female lead is interesting but kind of cliché.
I'd give this a read as it is kind of entertaining but it is far from a masterpiece.

If you thought the anime adaption was bad welcome to the worst manga ever written in history. Nothing is good. I forced myself through 30 chapters of this crap so that no one else had to. Overall: 2
story: 3
The most interesting aspect is how the characters will react over the betrayal and yet instead of jumping head first into that they ignore the matter and go into world building. Mind you it's the most stereotypical and yet boring world it could be.
The art is nothing special. You won't remember it but you can tell what is happening so I'll give it a 4
Characters: 2
The
...
characters are all superficial and dumb. Honestly between an annoying rabbit, a loli vampire, and an edge lord who within the span of 3 chapters pulls a 180 and mellows out and the barely touched upon classmates I don't whose worse.
Enjoyment: 1. It's pathetic and it should have never been written.

As many have stated beforehand this manga was a 9 or 10/10 up to chapter 220 something and then it just spiraled downwards. Nevertheless, I'll still give it at least a 6 since it was exceptionally good for like 80%+ of its run. I have never encountered such an addicting manga before. Once I found it I caught up to the most released chapter (219 at the time) in one sitting. I just read without sleep for 20 or so hours and in the next few months I had reread the entire manga six times. Therefore, I'd recommend new readers to stop around the 220
...
mark. Yeah it will be an unhappy ending but at least you won't witness the rapid decline in quality. EDIT TO THIS THE ENDING IS SO BAD I GIVE IT A 6/10 OVERALL(the ending last 50 chapters itself is a 2/10). READ UNTIL CHAPTER 220 AND THEN JUST USE YOUR HEAD CANON.
Story: 10 pre chapter 220, 2 post chapter 220
The plot was addicting, the relationships described authentic, and the pacing was great. Post chapter 220 it all spiraled. The arcs weren't that interesting. The best part of the manga: the relationships, went no where and the plot points that occurred were rushed. The only thing went well was the criticism of individuality, which remained a constant.
Art: 9/10
The art in this manga is exceptional the entire way through. The expressions and in particular the eyes that the author can depict are so good they are unrealistic. Kei Sasuga can perfectly depict any emotion she wants through just drawing the faces. There are even the .5 chapters which are a little more spicy and Sasuga could definitely get into doujins if she wished to.
Character: 9
The character development is quite realistic and accurate. In particular Rui, the female lead, goes from a robotic expressionless individual to the character with the most expressions throughout the course of the manga. All the characters are likeable despite their flaws, which they do to an extent overcome. There is a clear criticism of individuality and the choices that the characters make along those lines clearly backfire and lead to no success nor happiness.
Enjoyment 10 pre-chapter 220, 2 post 220 so 6/10 overall.
Overall 6/10
