I believe that while storywriting and technical aspects of a show are important, the most significant part of a show is the enjoyment that you get out of it.
I binged BNA in two days. I watched nine episodes the night before, then woke up and finished it. To put that in context, that is something that almost never happens for me, but BNA was so enrapturing that I couldn't put it down.
To start, the story was iffy. All the aspects were there for a great story, but the 12 episode constraint condensed everything down too much. I feel like this show would've been much better
...
received if it had been 2 seasons, a 15-18 episode season, or had a more narrow scope. A lot of plot points weren't tied up or fully developed. For example, The Family was introduced, but we never exactly knew what their schemes were or how they fit into Anima City. Characters were introduced, but not followed up on.
The ending was satisfying and the show felt like it ended on a good note, but the events in the ending could get a bit annoying.
Additionally, I know a main complaint is that in the end Shirou and Michiru's hero complexes don't change, but I think the point of this show is to show that the residents of Anima City are human and flawed too. However I do see their point.
Everything else though, was above average or absolutely glorious.
For instance, this show did worldbuilding right. Michiru is new to Anima City, so we get to learn what its like through fresh eyes. We aren't told what Anima City's culture is like, we experience it. Michiru herself is a really compelling character, and she bounces off of Shirou in a really entertaining way.
The art is AMAZING! I'm a bit biased since I've always looked up to Studio Trigger as an inspiration, but the animation in this was weighty, high energy, and addicting. Studio Trigger's style is already great on its own, but the color choice for this anime was really nice and gave the show a futuristic mood. The character designs are unique and memorable as well.
I think I have to speak on the soundtrack too. I've gone back and listened to the OST multiple times. Not only for Night Running (the ending theme) but also for Marie's theme and Turf War. Just a great OST overall.
In conclusion, BNA is flawed, but if you take a step back and watch it for what it is, a character driven action political drama, it ends up being really enjoyable.

Komatta Jiisan is not an anime that you'll walk away from with some new perspective, absolutely raving about why you love it, revelling in its genius...but one that will leave you with the dumbest smile on your face.
The show takes literally 13 minutes to watch, but it was 13 minutes well spent. This show is exactly what the synopsis says, and it revels in it. You know the punchline, and yet when the punchline comes, its still just as charming.
Komatta Jiisan left me with a glow after I finished it, even though it was 12 at night and I was exhausted. I just...honestly kinda
...
love it.
I may not recommend this to any of my friends, but if you are wondering if you should watch this, DO IT. There's no reason not to.

I'm not sure why the reviews are surprisingly low. This show is very well done, even if it fails a bit as an adaptation. I'm more of a manga person myself so I'd say read the manga. The detailed drawings add a lot more.
You can't avoid spoilers when reviewing this show so GO WATCH IT BLIND
Story- 10
I already love zombie stories and the idea of camping out in a school during the apocalypse is already a good setup. The story is less about killing zombies and gore, and more about the daily activities of the gang as they try to shelter Yuki. Whenever they have
...
to face zombies or something horribly depressing and traumatic happens, your heart will drop and you may burst into tears. This show has its lighthearted moments to keep it interesting and to keep the story from becoming so depressing that you can't watch it anymore. That's not to say that it's lighthearted. It walks the line very well and I appulade the creators for being able to pull that off.
One of the characters is there from the beginning when in the manga they show up in the second volume. Having them from the start makes the mall scene lose some oomph.
Art- 8
A solid 8. The cutesy style of the main characters contrasts well with the dreary backdrops. Comparing to the manga, the emotions in the anime can be a little less intense but I can't really fault the animators for that. The animation is nice. Nothing too experimental or amazing, but good enough to not be jarring.
Sound- 6
The sound design doesn't really stick out in any way. The opening is very average and annoying, but purposefully so. I wonder what it would be like to go in entirely blind. The opening would definitely give you the idea that its a cute moe anime and then all of the sudden you get hit with zombies.
Characters- 9
None of the characters fit my taste exactly. They are a lot more mellow to fit the strangely iyashikei (and dark as hell) vibes.
Yuki acts very cute and cheery. She's the kind of character that I would probably punch if she didn't have depth. (SPOILERS) However once you find out that everything is a delusion and its just her trying to block out trauma, she becomes a character that I genuinely want to protect. Her breaks in her delusions are heart wrenching. She's such a well written character.
Kurumi is a tough girl who falls a bit into the schoolgirl thug category. Her obvious concern for her fellow friends is very touching. Not one of my favorites but she's great nonetheless.
Ri is kind of the caring MILF character. I don't remember her standing out, but she wasn't an unpleasant character.
Naoki is my favorite of the core characters. Her personality is your usual shy, withdrawn type which can be cute out of context. Once you know why she's more withdrawn *inhales deeply* its no longer cute. I don't remember if they had this scene in the anime, but the second volume includes a scene at the start that gives me chills. I get that dark gut feeling ya know. Ugh I just love Naoki
Megumi is pretty similar to Ri. I like her for giving Yuki support throughout.
Enjoyment- 10
An obvious 10. This show is easy to just sit down and binge. It takes you through the motions.
The anime doesn't really reach my top ten but the manga is definitely in my top ten. Grab a friend and a tissue box and enjoy!

My score of this is exceptionally high and you may be asking "Why does a generic schoolgirl anime get this rating?"
Well to be put simply, this anime makes me very happy! Whenever I want something that I can just watch to decompress, this is one of the first shows that I gravitate to.
Story- 6
My god is the story mediocre as hell. The gimmick in this show gives it a lot of flavor though. In the end, it's still a cute-girls-do-cute-things episodic plot. Nothing gets too deep since its a slice of life in the end. A lack of depth doesn't mean that a story is
...
bad though. The plot structure and gimmicks are interesting enough to make this a very enjoyable watch.
Art- 8
The art style itself is very cute and clean. The color choices are extremely appealing and the character designs are tastefully unique. The animation is nothing to write home about. It services the show well enough but you don't ever have a moment of "my god this animation is sexy as hell!"
Sound- 7
I can see the soundtrack being irritating for some people because it is very happy-go-lucky. I personally would listen to the intro outside of the anime. Other than that, the soundtrack doesn't stand out to me very much.
Character- 9
Now the characters are hit or miss in this show.
Hanako was SO IRRITATING. I just don't like a plain jane happy character. I love characters with spunk and I enjoy when they're over the top in a cool way. Hanako is just not that. She's overly cute with little flaws so I don't even want to hug her or anything.
Hibari was very very very very cute~ She reminds me of a more outwardly chill Hifumi (from NEW GAME!) She definitely compliments the other characters, and would initially be our usual shy character if she didn't have her crush on the sign. Her romantic interest and embarrassment about it adds some cute depth to her character. I would hug 10/10
Botan was pretty irritating. Her negative demeanor made me roll my eyes constantly. She would be so much better if she was a more ara ara~ MILF type smh.
Hibiki is mildly irritating on her own. She a token tsundere but actually has a reason to be like that. Her love for Ren is very sweet and adds almost a protective side to her character. Her interactions with Ren make for some good gags. By the end of the show, Hibiki was one of my favorites.
Ren was my first waifu (before I knew that waifus were a thing) She has a pretty relaxed and chill demeanor which makes her a good partner for Hibiki's disheveled personality. Her constant tiredness adds to the cuteness factor too. She's a character that I look back at with fondness.
To address the yuri. I APPROVE! Sometimes yuri can be very bad (like in Inugami to Nekoyama ahem) but Ren and Hibiki have a very natural bond. It makes me really happy to see well written yuri and I'm glad that they didn't have to make a big deal out of it.
My enjoyment of this anime is obviously very high. It just gives me the fuzzies.
I'd recommend this show for a snow day when you don't feel like getting out of bed just yet. Not the best moe ever, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san was an anime that I was looking forward to watching for its cute yuri moments. I was VERY disappointed by it.
The story was just kind of bad. It went nowhere with its characters and would mention potential plot points left and right like the biology club and karaoke with the entire group but just didn't deliver. Short form animes can deliver on stories (ex Please Tell Me! Galko-chan which has good development about breaking down walls and stereotypes) but Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san ended abruptly because nothing happened with he characters. There was just no closure. I gave the story a 3
The art
...
was unimaginative and boring. It felt very generic. Would've been nice if the colors popped a bit more. The animation was very basic and primitive. Nothing special there. I gave the art (and animation) a 4
The sound design wasn't bad. The ending theme was actually quite cute! Some of the voice acting annoyed me but that was because of the character tropes. I gave the sound a 5
The characters weren't bad, they just weren't fleshed out well. The two mains were nice. I really liked dog girl and cat girl was okay. The pigtail loli girl was annoying af. I liked the sadistic girl and the sick girl since they felt more real and I could relate to them better (and they weren't super obnoxious) I gave the characters a 5
I did not enjoy this at all. The episodes were boring and it felt like they dragged on forever despite being 3 minutes long. I felt pure exhilaration as soon as the final episode ended. The fanservice was sooooo awkward and honestly creepy sometimes. I'm fine with fanservice but this show practically fetishized their animal attributes (and gayness) I gave my enjoyment a 3
Overall, just don't bother with this. If you want a moe short form with characters similar to these guys, just watch Please Tell Me! Galko-chan. I gave my overall score a 4
This is my first review so I apologize if its disorganized
