This series would be better named "Stockholm Syndrome and the Wendigo" , I cant quite figure out what others see in this series. Chise and Elias have a strained Owner-Pet relationship throughout the 10+ volumes i suffered through. It comes off as extremely toxic, and every time Chise forgives Elias for being a literal monster, it just seems so forced... Some of the side characters are more interesting, Ruth, Silky, and Alice Swayne have genuinely captivating backstories, and i would happily read a spinoff series about them.
The Ancient Magus Bride ticks a lot of boxes. I wanted to like this series, but honestly I
...
found it to be extremely predictable, not to mention boring. There seems to be some missing context to everything shown, like i should be reading this as a sequel to something else. Maybe this series gets by on it's impressive an beautiful art, however that is in vain due to how little narrative is actually displayed. The story moves like molasses, and seemingly important plot points are immediately glossed over or resolved by means of unexplained "magic".
I cant recommend this Manga, it was a chore to read.

Just like the motorcycle from which it takes the name, Super Cub is many things. It's a slice of life animation, a series of short stories, an advertisement for Honda's iconic Scooter, it's cute girls riding cute motorcycles. But above all else, Super Cub is a love letter to motorcycling, and a truly heart warming work of art.
Devoid of companionship and inner meaning, one's outlook on life is as grey as a winter day. This is where the story picks up with our protagonist Koguma. If you sit back and do nothing, a Cub won't help you. You probably have to have a desire
...
of your own. Something like the curiosity to turn down an unfamiliar road, just to see where it takes you. When you have that inner drive, and the tool to make it happen, suddenly it feels like life's possibilities are endless.
Motorcycles expose you, to the elements, danger, injury, death, and your own psyche. Some of the best and worst moments of my life have been onboard the bike. Though they are only machines made of metal and plastic, all the time we spend alone, riding and maintaining them, all those good and bad times with our motorcycles make it impossible not to become emotionally attached.
A big grin finally paints her face as she experiences a whole broader horizon opening up before her, that for the first time she's not just limited to how far her legs can carry her. We can all remember this feeling, even after many years in the saddle. A motorcycle is a form of transport first and foremost, however to many people it's a symbol of freedom and expression. Anyone who has gone through the process of learning to ride can relate to Koguma. I found great comfort in reminiscing of times past with our character on her journey.
Anyone who has watched an interest piece, whether it's on a sport or art that they hold dear has experienced that jarring sensation when they can tell that the producer of the work is not an expert in the field. It's often obvious when only a few sources of information have been used, and the production is not lead by enthusiasts. It's always in the little details, the lingo or the context that information is represented with that doesn't line up with your own understanding. Fortunately, the team at Studio Kai, or someone influencing the production is an enthusiast motorcyclist or is in love with the Super Cub, because i could not detect any falsehoods or make believe in the art or technical details. Even going so far as to apply style and period correct modifications to the bikes as the girls go on their journeys together, the level of detail is breathtaking.
Contrary to what other's have said, i think the art and animation are very good. Yes it's CG, but this is not an action show. There are many detailed scenes, such as the close ups of bike parts and maintenance that are on another level compared to other anime in the same genre. Many of the backgrounds when the bikes are moving are very beautiful. Episode 10 in particular with all the snow and the stunning imagery of a snowy forest at the foot of mount Fuji... gave me chills just looking at it.
Sound design is nice, using appropriate fill in music when needed, but not afraid to leave silence to punctuate the point of a scene. Voice actors did a good job, nothing special to note here but it fits well with the production values. The sound effect staff did a great job inserting realistic and detailed engine noises, the gearbox clunk and all the other tactile sounds that motorbikes make. Too often in hollywood, the engine sound and behavior doesn't match what is shown on screen, however in Super Cub it seems that effort has gone into considering what the characters are doing with the controls at each point in time, and the appropriate recordings were made to reflect it.
This show just does something for me, I spent most of my watching time with a smile on my face. I wish there was more,

Where do you even start with this controversial piece of hot garbage.
As someone who can appreciate a good hentai, and even some of the more hardcore variety when the mood is right, redo of a healer still has FAR too much fucking for my liking.
The plot at times, while mediocre, catches my interest. Its a revenge story, and one which is not afraid to dole out reasons for wanting the antagonists to suffer.
However, the transition from Anime to Hentai is frequent and jarring. It seems out of place after the first act, and continues to become more frequent and casual.
The voice acting is pretty
...
good, they've got a good range of talent on board.
Characters in this piece suffer from the usual low effort development that plagues shounen titles, one dimensional, obnoxious people who seemly act nasty as a character trait. Yawn.
Sexual violence in Hentai is not unusual. It's generally accepted due to the framing of such pieces of work as fantasy, where the protagonist is usually the one subjected to these kind of acts.
Maybe it's because redo of a healer places the protagonist as the rapist, that it makes us so uncomfortable. On one hand we're supposed to root for our hero, but in reality he is an anti-hero in the worst possible way.
Sometimes our hero protects demi-humans from the pillaging army, but then other times he commits terrible acts of torture and violence himself.
Redo of a healer is hard to watch, and not very entertaining.
I'm going to stick around until the end just for the memes and shock value, but only as long as the debauchery continues to escalate. Low audience investment the key problem with tying all your value to the shock factor after all.

I would have loved to be part of the acid trip of a creative meeting that spawned this 'thing'.
"Let's make an anime about trains, but the trains are actually cute lollis, and we'll make it a shoujo ai..."
My favourite scene by far depicted a meal shared by the raillords, where in two of them are EATING COAL WITH CHOPSTICKS!!! Genius! This keeps me up at night,
To be clear: It's wholesome, its short and sweet, the character designs are nice, and i learned a thing or two about trains. The animation however is obviously low budget, and while that can be charming, there isn't a redeeming
...
quality from the story.
Each episode follows exactly the same format, and so it feels repetitive, focusing more time on the "trains" themselves might have been more interesting, but so much time is wasted on details that only a Japanese rail fan would understand. It's a pretty complex topic to cover in 3 minutes per episode, too far a reach for it to be understandable by the audience.
The studio may have been better off using all the time for comedy/fan service, showing off the "trains" they brought life to and just left it at that
Art Quality - Surprisingly good.
Animation - Microsoft Powerpoint
Music - Meh
Story - WTF
Enjoyment factor - 10/10, turns out if you really set your mind to it, you can **** *** to anything.

A story of four painfully average "adults" who have communication difficulties and all of them are depressed.
Yesterday wo Utatte seemed similar in spirit to one of my all time favourites, NHK ni Youkoso! , The art and especially the atmosphere felt soft and gloomy.
Studio Doga Kobo did a great job animating this series, it will probably appear timeless in the future. The way that they handled sound was my favourite part of this anime, minimal use of music and long silent pauses really punctuated scenes adding to the serious mood.
Unfortunately the praise stops there.
There is a real lack of material here, that slow
...
build up was reminiscent of Steins;Gate, but without the massive payoff. This story pulled back the slingshot until the elastic snapped. The ending felt forced, and rushed.
This could have been a 9/10, but episode 12 ruined it.
I'm not knocking the characters, or even the conclusion. I thought Rikuo's development was perfectly suited to his character flaws. And it was the right way for things to end, but it needed at least another couple episodes of pacing to properly work through those complicated emotions.
I haven't read the source material, but i have a hard time believing that this is the entire story.
It would get a lower rating if it didn't seem so lovingly crafted.
