My best attempt at explaining my ratings-
10/10- I love everything about it, and actively revisit it often.
9/10- Similar to 10, I may not actively revisit it as much, but it left a big impression on me in one way or the other, or maybe it is a sequel to a 10 that I find to be ever so slightly inferior.
8/10- A solid show that you should consider watching if you have planned on it
7/10- A show I enjoyed- maybe a certain character or plot point shined through, probably worth your time.
6/10- Something that would be good to put on in the background, by no means bad. I might have expected far more from it, or I couldn't get into the story as much as I'd have liked to.
5/10- I probably didn't like it too much. Maybe a pointless OVA or special, which was neither funny enough or interesting enough. Maybe its something other than that, and I walked away from it slightly bored or bewildered
4/10- Either the show was boring and didn't hold my interest, or i actively disliked certain characters or plot points, but nevertheless did have a few things that I did like, usually minor details however.
3/10- I disliked almost all of it. Something like a good soundtrack or animation could save it from scoring any lower, but rarely ever both.
2/10- Reserved only for summer wars right now. Winner of the worst anime property I've ever seen. To briefly explain the 2/10, it needs to be something where I hated almost every character or plot point, a complete mess in other words. Maybe it tries to be 10 different things at once. (I still to this day have no idea why the movie is so highly praised, the plot is all over the place and it makes no sense.)
1/10- I await the day with bated breath I find something worse than summer wars.
