This is a weird series. It is interesting, fun, quite often all over the place, but it keeps you watching. Let me explain.
Plot
Ever since the first season I was caught by the show due to the protagonist being way too OP for this world. However, what I hate with most shows is that when a character really wants to hide their identity, you just can't do anything but feel the need for them to eventually reveal themselves. This show seems to be an exception - this is the single show that I didn't feel a need for the protagonist to reveal their identity. In the
...
end, there is pretty much only one person who somewhat knows how powerful the MC is.
Execution
The world building is wonderful. I haven't seen a single show that employed so many different art styles. I saw episodes with 3D CGI, low-poly 3D, VN-style dialogue and point of view, as well as game style and LIVE-ACTION segments. The whole show is sort of surreal because it set in the future, but more often than not you feel like it's set in the past due to the way certain clothes are portrayed, certain dialogue is done. In the end, it just keeps showing you more and more.
It even nails it with the comedy, some episodes have really funny quirks at the end or near the end of an episode. Despite how silly chinese anime comedy is, there are really wonderful moments that the anime manages to portray. There are episodes where you see actual people, where dimensions are breaking due to the artists being burned out from drawing, the director being missing and whatnot. It really feels as if the studio is breaking the 4th wall speaking to you. In one of the episodes you were able to pretty much indirectly understand the message being given off as "thank you for all the staff for making this show come to life".
Animation
The animation quality can't be ignored either. Every action scene is fluid, you can see the movements clearly, the fights are intense, sound effects are massive, visual effects are vivid. I've seen some god-tier animation and this show doesn't disappoint. As chinese animation, it has left me with huge expectations for other shows as well, and let me understand that chinese animation has come a long way.
Downsides
Of course, there are some downsides. One thing being is that the plot is confusing sometimes. One time you may be in a massive fight, another you might be preparing for someone's birthday. Even though in the end the dots actually connect and you didn't expect it to actually be significant, it can be confusing. Another issue is lack of character development. Although some characters can be seen developing, albeit to a small degree, for the most part, all of the characters remain the same without any changes in their behaviour whatsoever. It may be fine as the series doesn't seem to be taking leaps in time, but it would be great to see characters and their relations proceed to a higher level or proceed further.
Long story short, it's a good watch, it gets your attention and you want to know what's next. It doesn't take too long to finish the series due to the shorter episode length and it leaves you with high expectations for the next time you watch chinese animation. In my opinion, it was worth my time, so it may be worth a try for you as well.

Minor spoilers by the end (regarding what will follow the story in the future).
Even though the story is all over the place due to the weird translations, it's fine as long as you have ever played any Chinese MMORPG or have watched a donghua before. It's actually impressive because the animation isn't some CGI massacre, so the fight scenes are relatively good.
Story is as follows.
The premise is similar to what you have in most MMORPG games these days - you have levels and advance by gathering experience. You do main quests, side quests, kill monsters, etc., and level up, then explore new areas,
...
new quests and so on.
Sometimes you have some additional paths for gathering special points/experience that allows you to spend extra points on skills to open new upgrade paths, optional effects or have an altogether different spec for your character. This is very similar and why it's easier to look at it from that perspective.
We have a protagonist who is, as they call it, in the "Qi Refining Realm". Above that, there is the "Foundation Realm", in the end you also get to hear some other realm names that are irrelevant to the story in this animation. The "Qi Refining Realm" is what you can consider the basic level system of a generic MMORPG, and the "Foundation Realm" is what you could consider the awakening spec of a class in an MMORPG (Black Desert Online, Blade and Soul, etc.). The protagonist, Bai, is unable to reach the higher realm despite training for more than 3000 years. Over time he has become pretty much the most powerful being without reaching the "Foundation Realm". Anyone who proceeds to the higher realm is immortal, so he is basically a Chinese Hercules/Heracles, who can fight and defeat immortal beings without being immortal. He is known all over the world, but doesn't have a single disciple.
This story should be about him trying to find out about the way to the higher realm, but as someone who has lived for more than 3000 years, there are more important matters than that, such as saving the world. You will see him going to find out more about the higher realm, or so it would seem, but ending up saving the world, helping a neighboring sect or such. Basically, this is an MMORPG playthrough where you follow the main quest and do the side-quests on the way as well.
Due to the fact this only covers one arc, there wasn't much character development, which is a let-down, but that could change in the future seasons, if that ever happens.
Animation Quality
The animation is good if we overlook some unimportant scenes. The fightning scenes are alright and for a donghua, this is already way better than you could hope to begin with. However, the sound effects are really lackluster, that is very evident during fight scenes sometimes, because what you would normally expect when seeing good visuals is the clashing of swords, sounds of the ground going boom etc. That is where they definitely saved the budget, however, it's much better than having poor animation quality. The silliness of the characters can be bothering sometimes, but that is the way donghua is. It ain't game breaking, but sometimes it's just weird.
Closure - read at your own risk
The story doesn't have a very clear closure regarding the Foundation Realm aspect, we only get some clues where to go next, but it is clear this donghua only covers one of many arcs in the story. The next arc is him going to the monster realm to find out more and help a neighbouring sect's leader with some important matters, which would be covered, if ever, in the second season. However, we get a closure to to this arc, which is great. The whole quest about finding out more information on the Foundation Realm is more like a secondary quest that's hinted at every once in a while and it's more like a secondary quest, and motivation for the protagonist to proceed further.
TL;DR
It isn't for everyone, but it's a fun watch when you have some free time. The episodes aren't that long and you get to see enough story and action in each episode without being overcrowded with information. You get a closure to one arc and find out about a lot of the characters. The story wasn't rushed that rushed, but you don't get to see a lot of character development as well.

This season is a massive improvement. If you didn't watch the previous season, you will still need to do so in order to understand the story, but past that point, it only gets better.
- Animation and Sound
The animation quality is much better. Not only the fight scenes, but overall movements and scenery became clearer and more fluid, sound effects also are present as well as drastically better compared to first season. The impact is there, the fights are there, everything's alright. Although some effects did sound out of place sometimes, which could definitely be improved, it didn't stand out enough to ruin the immersion. However,
...
you can clearly feel their need to add comedy to the show sometimes.
- Story and Characters
Surprisingly, the story isn't rushed and moves at a relatively good pace. You have enough time to understand what is going on and piece the puzzle together as you go. Furthermore, the episode length has become twice as much compared to the previous season, which has drastically improved the experience. We actually experience character development, we see certain characters grow and start understanding each other despite their desperate rival issues regarding love.
Even though the story ends up on a massive plot twist, it was very well placed and executed. Neither did I expect it, nor thought it would happen that way. That massive twist literally forces you to watch season 3 as soon as possible, which means the story did captivate me. Definitely recommended.

This show is promising (it's similar to Leadale no Daichi nite in the way that it has a female MC who got isekai'ed, which in itself does have a massive twist in s2 that I cannot reveal), but it has many flaws. Even though the premise is interesting, pacing is wack. That is mostly due to the episode count and episode length. Having at most 8-10 minutes of actual watching per episode is way too short, but they do not seem to rush the story too much. Second season does account for the episode length, so if you finish this to the end - you
...
may as well continue on to season 2 because it will be much better compared to the first one.
Last episode finishes it off on the weirdest cliffhanger that I could imagine. It just doesn't work where the cliffhanger is - you know those cliffhangers before the next episode when something big is supposed to happen (so the fanbase needs to be hyped up for the next ep)? Except without the massive hyping and drawn-out fillers before it. It doesn't have an impact, you don't even realise that was the last episode and boom - you see credits and behind-the-scenes of the show.
The animation is, depending on the situation, bearable to watch. During fight scenes it isn't that bad, but it's obvious that the budget was limited. It becomes eminent at times without fighting that the animation is relatively choppy. However, besides that, there is one issue as with many shows like this - the sound effects are lackluster. You definitely don't feel the impact of the hits, swings, jumps, drops and whatnot, which ruins the immersion.
Overall, it's a great show to pass time and enjoy a nice story. It has an interesting plot behind it, but at the end of it all, it is (kind of) another isekai without enough budget. Depending on your tolerance (which would mean surviving like an hour), have fun watching it until season 2, which greatly improves upon the shortcomings of this season.

There are certain things you have to keep in mind going into this show, which I can tell halfway through already. No major spoilers, but general information and tips ahead. TL;DR at the end.
Regarding this show, there is a huge problem - the source material, despite being more than 50 chapters in, hasn't provided much progress. Sure, it can be justified that it will eventually mature into something more, however, that's not what people typically enjoy watching shows like these. What it is at the moment is an awkward dude who had the opportunity to experience close connection to a girl for the first time.
...
Being such a young fellow and getting such experience makes him jump between two girls without being able to settle on one. It is relatively realistic in that regard, but at some point it just goes beyond that. You either have to have no guilt, or be oblivious to continue this way without any character growth as a human being, and I am speaking from experience. It can be justified that he's just a teenager with low self-esteem, which is logical, but only time will tell what the story will give us in the end. However, one thing remains certain - DO NOT expect a closure at the end of this show.
Animation is alright, the vibrant colours remind me of NGNL sometimes, so the contrast and colour palette was good from my point of view, contrary to some other reviewers' opinions. There are many mature characters in the show and the general circumstances are relatively realistic for the most part, and portrayed in the right direction. I am glad that in certain scenarios, some of the scenes provide mature acting from certain characters like Hamano Mei.
TL;DR
If you want to enjoy a lot of romantic moments that a guy experiences for the first time in his life, meeting a girl he doesn't really like but ends up liking after having to live with her (and now being unable to understand who he loves for real, just like his now-wife), this is a fun show. However, if you are coming into this expecting a closure, some kind of solution to the situation, lower your expectations. It might be a wonderful show, and will provide you with a great experience while watching, but in order to reach a conclusion, there has to be one first.
In the end it's fun to watch, and you want to know more, reach an ending soon, but in the end, it will keep going up and down until the end. If there is ever a season 2, it might happen once the manga has finished.

It was a great anime to pass time. Although it reminded me of "Reincarnated as a Slime" anime a whole lot, it was a fun journey. It was relatively basic, but the pacing was okay, the main character wasn't an idiot and we saw relatively mature reasoning behind his actions. Not only is he a thinking human being, but also OP, just as you would expect.
On the other hand, the animation quality was clearly not the best. It was okay, it was watchable, however, in certain fight scenes you would expect much more tension, which is typically shaped by sound effects and intense animations.
...
Nowadays, that is something I mostly would love to expect from most fighting anime. It was clear they were trying to save costs on certain fight scenes in order to deliver a good final battle in the last episodes.
Other than that, this is basically a light-hearted anime because the MC is mostly traveling and trying to avoid trouble and attention. Regardless of that, he still gets into certain evil plots that he wants to stop while piling up the burden of wanting to protect the people he met and loved the company of. It does pay itself eventually, but with each journey he becomes more renown in the world due to his good deeds that he stops by to do.
This isn't an AAA title, so keep your expectations rather low going into this, but it is a fun and entertaining experience. Give it a go, watch a couple episodes and if you are into it, you might as well go ahead and finish it whole.

This has been my favorite anime for the past year or so. I can't express how much I loved it even though it was really just a spur of the moment that I decided to watch it (I'm not into mecha-style genres really).
The emotional aspect was the key-point in this. It has been an emotional rollercoaster from day one. Ever since the first season, I was hoping for Handler One to meet the Eighty-Six. On that journey that took us on two seasons, it has been incredibly well crafted to keep us connected. That is because regardless of the happy moments that occur, they are
...
always surrounded by sadness. All of that was building up for the last episode of Season Two, which is why it had such massive impact, at least from my perspective. Due to how the episodes were structured, every episode it seemed like it was the absolute end. Even if a certain episode ended on a happy note, it wasn't complete, it wasn't truly happiness, which was the main reason that kept me going, especially after Season One.
The studio took it's time to polish the episodes, there were many delays, but it was all worth it for how good the production quality has been. The quality of the animations was superb, as well as the little touches that are more difficult to spot. The story went on perfectly, eventually giving us backstory and certain information to connect the dots during some periods of time.
I was craving and hoping for certain characters to do something at certain moments, and it has all been redeemed at the end of the season. It took time, we were all waiting for it, and after so many episodes, our wishes come true.
Do I recommend this? Absolutely. My enjoyment was skyrocketing, but it highly depends on you. Even though you might not enjoy mecha, just as I am not particularly fond of it, the emotional aspect and character development more than makes up for it tenfold.

It was so bad that it honestly made me laugh. For the enjoyment, I give it a solid 2!
I have no idea why I have decided to watch this in 2021 and gaze my eyes upon this masterpiece.
The review is written using a 2 point system, meaning that the highest score you can receive is 2.
Superb animation, magnificent voice acting (especially the screams) and top-notch romance perfectly balanced with mecha elements. What could you ask for more? I have no idea.
I didn't ask for anything. This was a late night decision. Now I can sleep in peace, and so should you.

When I first read the reviews, it made me laugh how many people are overcomplicating things to an enormous extent.
The setting is really simple - we have people with talents that excel in certain ways, they have special features / abilities that they are able to use. On the other side of the table, we have every-so-often deployed serial killers that take out the talented in order to maintain order because as it seems, human mind has not developed any farther in the portrayed human civilization that proper education and help would probably be a better solution rather than using brute force.
So, what could go
...
wrong if someone infiltrated the ranks of the Talented, right? Well, as you would expect, many things could go wrong. Despite Nana's holy protection of the PlotArmorPlus™ warranty, not even that saves her from suffering in one way or another. Nana driven by revenge and anger supposedly justifies her actions and takes the information provided to her by granted, which as you would expect by watching, is really suspicious the more you watch.
The characters were great, I really liked the fact that we had many different personalities that had very distinct features, which allowed me to relate or enjoy one or the other, Kyoya being the spotlight of the show with his great detective skills and the ability to speak of his motives in an absolute absurd way that nobody, for the most part, would even suspect you to be not serious about. On the other hand, we also have simply silly characters that will most likely have no development whatsoever in the future, or so you would expect. Unfortunately, the show doesn't cover that much farther, which is truly a shame. However, that does save us from any butchered story or poor animation and execution.
Finally, what should be your choice? Well, I believe it is a fun AND serious show. It has comedy, action, detective elements, and what I loved about it the most, is the absurd amount of explanation, hypotheses, theories and stress that you can witness within a single episode. As a matter of fact, each episode leaves you wondering what would happen next, and with each episode you could probably expect a plot-twist sponsored by the PlotArmorPlus™ warranty, thus I believe it is a good watch that everyone will find something enjoyable in.

Honestly, this is probably going to be one of the worse reviews around here, but I don't even know what to say. It started off kind of great, and I saw potential in the future, but then it just went on it's merry way with the typical goals of "peace" and "justice" that we can hear more often than we should, accompanied by unsurprisingly weirder rivalry of so called seekers of peace that really shouldn't take place, if all they really care for is the end of war and conflict.
On top of the already pretty generic story, relatively interesting premise, and an obvious hint of
...
an ever-expanding harem with a potentially only one victor, the animation was actually not that bad. Keep in mind that my expectations were low to begin with, though. However, the lack of background information and justification for characters winning certain battles looked pretty silly. Even if the justification is fictional, I always welcome it with open arms because it adds depth and reason to the actions and certain outcomes. That was not precisely the point here, unfortunately.
For what it is, I enjoyed it as much as I expected I would, I didn't ask more or less, and it was interesting to me aside the lack of certain aspects that were not present. Other than that, it is a slightly-better-than-average show that will work for passing time and keeping your attention.
Is it really bad? No, it isn't.
Is it a masterpiece? No, it isn't.
What it is though depends on what kind of person you are.
If I were express that myself, I believe it was good for what I expected it to be and for how much I enjoyed it as a result.
