pros:
-storytelling made this show extremely interesting for me. Because it was non-linear it gave the impression of solving a puzzle which made it a lot more interesting and fun.
-Characters were unique. I've found Isaac and Miria really funny.
-Because characters are unique and interesting, character driven story works really well. Characters are consistent and their actions match with their personalities.
-OST was good. OP was fine. ED wasn't as good imo.
cons:
-cast is large and therefore it goes a little less depth for each character
...
-first episodes will be confusing and hard to understand
-the storytelling is either a hit or miss. It worked fine for me but I understand why some people don't like it.
-because of the complex story telling, show didn't go into too much depth about other elements.
-something crazy was happening in each second which made it feel like too much.
overall: 8/10. It's fun and entertaining, but with an addition of more episodes and depth it could've been a lot better.

**review contains spoilers**
Honestly, this season was a huge disappointment. It's doesn't deserve my kindness.
At this point, I won't even mention the plot armor around Emma, Ray and Norman. The season had so many problems that plot armor seemed like a less important one.
The story was a complete mess. The conflicts gets resolved in minutes and then you move onto another conflict that also immediately gets resolved and makes no progress. The whole show serves just as a meaningless shallow action rush that is forced into a fast ending. The pacing was terribly off and the storyline had no sense at all. You start
...
off with first 4 episodes, and then one of a sudden in the middle of a conflict you jump into years ahead and never even learn what happened in between. Then what happens? You find out Norman isn't dead and found a plan to destroy demons. Emma suddenly feels like not killing demons, so they make another plan. Norman abandons his plan, because in season 2, Norman and ray mindlessly follow what Emma thinks should happen. Everything then is rushed into a terrible conclusion, with no depth or whatsoever. Honestly, this is one of the worst plot writings I've seen.
Characters were OK in s1, but in this season they seemed flat and unreasonable. Entire show was based on how Emma feels, and even that had no real foundations. Characters were simple plot dummies, and they could change their morales entirely in a matter of seconds. In first season, Emma's blandness was bearable because of some other interesting characters. However, in this one, all of the characters seemed as bland as Emma. Ray and Norman was nothing more than Emma's pets and they weren't alone. Entire cast do whatever Emma says. The characters other than Emma don't have mind of their own. What's even worse? Emma's mind is flat, typical and unreasonable. She's a complete idealistic idiot who wants to do everything she wants without getting her hands dirty. You know what's even more unreasonable? The crappy plot writing just allows her to do that which zeroes down the show's logic. Emma can save all the world without even harming a fly. Wow. Talk about lazy plot writing.
Art and OST was as bad as the rushed story and characters. The first season was so good with its dark atmosphere and horror. I loved Isabelle in s1 and therefore started reading the manga. But this season... Honestly, it couldn't be any worse. Do yourself a favor and never watch this.
The show was dumb, pathetic and cliche. It had nothing to do with the quality first season had.
overall: 2/10.

why I hated this series:
-3 recap episodes -- with the final episode itself being a recap episode...
- unresolved side story
-inconclusive end
-moronic annoyingly stupid characters
- very cliche plot -- I'm sick of watching dumbos gaining common decency to be rulers
- the entire story could've been told in 4 episodes or so. the pacing was off
- Keiki was annoying to watch and they seemed really useless
- Rakushun and Enki were interesting but they didn't get enough screen time to save the show
...
- the show doesn't tell anything original
-MC is by far one of the worst losers of all time. Annoyingly dumb, does nothing but complain and be a pathetic loser. It takes her 45 episodes to put together one sentence, and by that time it doesn't even feel like progress anymore
overall: 3/10 Honestly, don't waste your time with this. I'm surprised by the hype this anime gets.

why I loved this show:
- OST and sound affects are top notch. Its soundtrack is really unique and one of the things that make CB stand out from the rest of the anime shows
- Characters are original and interesting, therefore, character driven storytelling works really good
Faye is a very well written femme fatale
Spike and Jet work well as a duo, and their different personalities makes a good match
Ed is just goofy genius kid, but for me, it felts sincere and she made me smile lots of times
team of ed, faye, ed, spike and jet makes a dynamic team with each of them
...
being interesting enough on their own. Almost all of them are enigmatic, and it makes the viewers even more curious about them.
- We learn the background of all characters, and all of their stories are well written. The emotions of the characters are reflected to the audience masterfully.
- Ending of the show is very conclusive and impressive
- This show's best quality is in its directing. Each scene is placed carefully, and piece by piece we learn more about the story. Some of the scenes are set really good, and stand out a lot (for example: church scene)
- animation is really good considered that this is a 90s anime
-although it is episodic, it's not boring and it manages to tell an overall story regardless. Many people criticize episodes in which we don't see Spike vs Vicious story, but I think they also serve well in terms of entertainment, giving a message on their own, and also showing characters where these conflicts don't exist (spoiler: they also fit well with concept of "fleeting dream" that Spike has).
- I liked that most of the episodes were named after songs
-This show is a very good example of "show, not tell." You can see this from just the dialogues. You never get someone explaining what's happening for 20 mins like lots of other show does. Instead events are shown through addition of details, and dialogues are used purposefully, rather than being used as a plot device.
-almost every aspect of the show is well thought. You can tell that it is really done with lots of effort. If you watch carefully, you'll be surprised by how even the smallest details were considered.
overall: 10/10. For me, the show deserves its vibe to the fullest. It really is a genre of its own. It's not so good if you are looking for an action rush and plot driven story. It's extremely good if you enjoy character-driven stories like I do.

Pros:
- it was interesting to see 3 different characters with different ideologies and how they interact
- makishima (chaotic evil) was only character that seemed interesting
- dystopian world building was well done
- art was fine, OST was good, and I liked the OP (Abnormalize)
- ending was well done in my opinion, by giving a conclusive ending with a few things left open
Cons:
...
- other than makishima most were flat characters that were used as a plot device
- even makishima himself wasn't too interesting, however, he stood out because rest of the characters were poorly written
-Shinya and Akane wasn't really well written. Shinya was typical careless MC who is going to do whatever he wants and Akane is the desperate lover. Honestly, these two didn't add much to the series and mostly felt like they were just plot dummies.
- show used shock elements (violent murders) too much when it wasn't necessary to keep the interest of the audience. Most of them added nothing to the plot or to the story
-it took about 6-7 episodes to get better, which felt like a waste of time
-plot writing was sometimes poorly done, and characters were acting inconsistent
overall: 6/10 -- it beats the average shows but it wasn't really good

PROS:
-world building started nice
-started good and interesting in the first episodes
- the documentary like story telling was nice
-architectural design was well done
-OST was very well done and helped a lot in establishing the atmosphere
CONS:
...
-characters were uninteresting and static. They dragged down the story a lot. Mostly it felt like they were puppies who were doing what plot wants them to do and didn't get much depth.
-power dynamics were unrealistic, and most battles were 85-95% plot 5-15% strategy. War tactics were treated as a magic wand, and to the trained eye many outcomes were also unrealistic. Characters' powers were exaggerated which conflicted with show's overall focus on trying to be realistic.
-didn't have a conclusive ending
-main story --arslan gaining some common decency after spending years as a naive prince- was cliche
-art was bearable but it wasn't really good
-OP and ED wasn't really good for me
overall: 5/10 it is a good watch to kill your time, but overall it was pretty average and didn't develop much.

pros:
1.shows the moral dilemma of what it means to be a soldier very well
2. it establishes a good world building
3. the story gets a conclusive ending that leaves the audience with complicated emotions
4. art is very good
5.symbolism is used very well
6.it gives a clear and important message
7. I liked how little red riding hood story was used in this movie
...
cons:
1.gets interesting only in the end, like in the last 2 minutes or sth
2. the show is very slow paced
3.could've been better if established more political depth and used the world-building better
overall: 8/10

PROS:
1-The show has a great political depth. It's very well written, and portrays the dilemma between best autocracy and worst democracy perfectly.
2- Characters are well written. All cliches are avoided. Each character has different set of principals and ideologies. We see realistic power dynamics between the characters and all of them get a good depth. It portrays some historical important figures very well
3- The show's documentary like presentation fits the overall theme.
4- conflict resolutions are not rushed, and doesn't feel plot driven.
5- OST and art is good at establishing the atmosphere
6- has no unnecessary fan service
7- good amount of time is
...
dedicated to showing logistics and military strategies of wars
8 - the show considers so many different factors that influence politics that it makes it feel like watching a real non-fiction story
9 - although characters do not progress or change a lot, I think this never bothered me because all characters were mature and smart enough. It was more interesting to see what an already grown and educated person does rather than watching a dumbo gather common decency for entire series like most of the other war anime does
10- it's never overly dramatic. It's a well-written slow-burn story that requires patience.
cons:
1- sometimes war tactics were overused and Yang Wen-Li's wins seemed somehow plot driven. However, considering this is just a show that was understandable.
2- economy was not as goodly portrayed as politics and military. Time to time, show acted like events had no economical outcomes. However, it was still good considering this is just an anime.
overall: 10/10. This bested everything I've watched.
