A binge eater, a muscle enthusiast, a weeaboo, and a famous cosplayer walk into a gym. No, this is not the start to a hilarious joke. It's actually the premise of this anime! Here, you'll find a diverse array of characters, all united by one mission: to get swole! And along that path, there is lots and lots of silliness and fun!
Every character has their own running gags that never get stale throughout the show's 12 episode runtime, and the jokes range from mildly amusing to top-tier comedy. Some of the comedic scenes go a step beyond and also educate you on how to
...
be a bodybuilder yourself. The advice shared is accurate and especially useful to beginner weightlifters.
Before each episode, there is an OP that is incredibly addicting and is a good representation of the kind of humor this show contains. It's a 1:30 minute song called Onegai Muscle (Gotta Get Muscle, in English), sung by the MC, who also voices Jolyne in JoJo P6.
There are very minimal differences in quality between the English and Japanese dubs. However, the English dub translates its jokes into the English culture and way of speaking, making it easier to understand for an English speaker. Plots for both versions are the same, and there are just some very minor differences in dialogue.
There is no ending to this anime, and all of the characters' arcs remain unfinished. The anime is adapted from a manga that is still publishing, so fans can look there for additional content.
