Mahou Shojo Lyrical Nanoha: The Movie 1st. The movie is great in all level. As a fan of Mahou Shojo, this story, is just outstanding. The movie takes a different approach from the series and changes in outfit: like Nanoha have more robotic arms instead of all cloth; the fighting scene have more flying than the original series, and it's also widescreen to fit our modern monitors; along with different audio improvements; and different story transition. However, having said all of that, story is the same as the original series. I tend to enjoy the original series a bit more as how the author depicted
...
Nanoha as regular girl a little better. Not to mention, I'm not too much a fan of flying a lot though Danmaku is still an awesome idea regardless.
Personal opinion aside though, the story takes a twist like the original series. You learn the truth of everything and how the character deals with such truth and trauma and how the character continues to strive forward; that's a real art of heroism depicted well. Magic development could not be stated any differently. Nanoha initially turned out to be a beginner, who knew nothing about magic, but she wanted to grow. She wanted to improve. She wanted to be the best she can ever be - thus she continued to train.
I have felt many tears watching this movie. I will continue to watch, rewatch, and cry over and over in the world of Mahou Shojo Lyrical Nanoha. There is nothing like it! I give 10 in everything.

This anime gives me strange feeling. I can't say I I really enjoy the show. If there is one thing I have really enjoyed the most, it's Shana's voice actress. She sounds so cute and lovely that it was the only reason why it kept me watching the show. But story itself just lacked the kind of development and flow that makes one keep watching.
In fact, the story is rather dull. While I understand how it may be interesting to some, the fact that the story is based on one man's value due to what he holds inside just doesn't make it all that

interesting. They've done their best to protect the man because he is extremely useful. But that's about it. Usefulness, whether in wit or analytic skills, the flow of the story is at times vacuous, filled with half fillers and slice of life, while other filled with actual story line. One of the review wrote they found it boring; I found the same way after watching few beginning episodes. I skipped the boring part with past history and stories that made no sense, and went to the actual meat of the story. And yet, the meat just did not have that feeling of climatic feeling of despair and helplessness as they have made it out to be. And yet, not to mention that such climatic ending is only in the last episode. The rest is filler and building up to that ending. I just do not feel the reward after watching the show. Even the second season was disappointment, to say the least.
The artwork and sound is quite nice. I would definitely rate it as high as possible if I could as any modern anime nowadays. I certainly have no problem with artwork nor sound. Character requires a bit of work. Perhaps using Osaka person in the show would have made it even more enjoyable. Music is no doubt a great hit in my heart especially in using piano as one of the main instrument. But as stated above, my enjoyment is mediocre; albeit, fair at best.

The direction authors and creators took with Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha after Lost Logia shows complete aimless story with no real ending. Nanoha was great until A's. After she grew up in the subsequent series, the story deterred. I cannot recommend the story to anyone else at all.
They're going to do the championship and then what? Nanoha is no longer the starring role (she's already 22 and unimportant - thus boring), it's Vivio. The story is poor. While all these fighting is enjoyable, I wish they went back to Earth. Showed us the normal life style again and then tell us another mishap at

the place with which she needed to protect yet another monster or even that her friends learned/found magic to fight with her. This series completely disappointed me - just like Nanoha StrikerS.

Mahou Shoujo Nanoha first and the A's have been great. The character development, magic upgrades in the dire pinch, and finally working together after the rival fighting have been very attractive. However, StrikerS lacked all of them.
Nanoha is supposed to be a typical elementary school girl with two friends back home on Earth. There's no Earth; there's no family (which she had bother and sister), and a house she lived in. She's already a fully grown adult at 18 years old, living at Magic central station Honbu (Home Station). Nanoha is no longer the main character who we get to feel, listen, and be,
...
it's about building the perfect team called the StrikerS against the great scientist. Thus the focus of the story has been on Nanoha building the team, along with stories on all of the other characters instead of Nanoha. The authors should have called it Mahou Shoujo StrikerS. This anime was supposed to be Nanoha's stories and her contributions to the world, not the Team. I have to say, StrikerS has been a huge disappointment.
Next, Nanoha had magic upgrades when raging heart was defeated. In StrikerS, Nanoha already had the powers; all they did was restrict her magic as she (and few others) were far too strong. This already made them out to be a supernatural monster who have enough powers to destroy anyone without training and fighting and challenge. Where's the growth without challenging other more difficult situation? You can't suddenly attain over limits as it has been in the first two series. It's absolutely inconsistent and story lost its quality completely.
Finally, Nanoha had the power to turn the enemy as her own friend and fight with her to the end for the same cause. StrikerS made it clear that their goal was to destroy the plan of the unstable machines that's running amok and stifle his/her plan. She did not have enemies, she befriended nor did she have to help players, nor talk to them. Her goals were clear and straightforward. Build a strong, supportive, and trusting team, so that they do not have to rely on the very slow reaction of kanrikan.
The artwork is great along with sound. But story was just barely decent and characters were mediocre at best. StrikerS is the beginning of a decline of my support for any future Nanoha series if they continue on this road.
