Anime itself is... beautiful. I mean, yuri, H fanservice, humor, some guest/crossover characters - all that filler part is whatever, a matter of personal preferences. However, the essence of the anime is beautiful. Elegant. Delicate. A very careful mix of Japan mythology, philosophy questions and tragic characters. Each episode is like a piece of a picture. No need to look on it up close, stand back a little and take a wider perspective. Yes, reverse storytelling is hard to comprehend in general. However, I believe after ~5-6 episodes you will memorize most of important characters/points, and further episodes will be easier to watch.

Soundtrack is nice, ... though felt repetitive sometimes. Visuals are mostly good. Storytelling is potentially the biggest issue for any viewer. If you are not sure about reverse order - can try chronological. If you are past 25-30% of episodes and it does not hook you - that might be the moment to drop.

Despite not playing OG VN, I think watching anime after playing VN will not give you a lot of new information. It is rather that anime advertises VN, not vice versa.

Interesting, convoluted and addicting story plot that takes quite a number of unexpected turns. Starting as a romantic drama/reverse harem, it turns into more a philosophy side later, delivering nice and clean conclusion. Most characters are well written with their motivation and goals being understandable. Good fitting OP & ED, graphics are ok for 2000. Early episodes have a certain amount of humor, but anime gets serious in the end.

On the downside, plot narration feels quite rushed, with certain sections within one episode having little connection between each other, as if creators just decided to heavily compress or skip parts of manga chapters. This makes ... reception harder than it should be. Overall though, different episodes do maintain a strong and coherent storyline, the issue is rather in the number of details and explanations within each episode.

Anime is not a family watch, but there is no unnecessary/excessive nudity/gore/violence. Definitely recommend if you are ok with old drawing (and overall style) and agree to spend certain efforts to deal with some poorly narrated storygaps.

Biggest feeling about this anime: not enough. There is BDSM fanservice - but it's only 5 minutes per episode. All characters are lesbians (I don't recall any human male characters at all tbh), but not much of a yuri vibe. Storyline exists, but mostly as an excuse for more fanservice with newly introduced characters. One character does have a growth, but there is not much focus on that. Humor, when it appears, is good. Three main characters are well written. Anime might get a little low in the middle, but last 2 episodes were great and unexpectedly heartwarming.

If you are good with some keywords mentioned ... above, try it, but don't invest too much expectations. There is a lot of good sides, but disappointingly, not enough of each of them.
