Spy x Family

Both are some of the best animanga series out there (in my opinion) and are extremely similar in countless ways. If you like one, you'll undoubtedly love the other, I promise. Firstly, their casts are extremely similar in vibe and design. Twilight (Loid) is basically Shirogane as an overpowered perfectionist spy and Yor is basically the less cold, assassin version of Kaguya. Twilight is just as hard-working and tired as Shirogane and Yor is just as innocent and double-natured as her respective counterpart. Anya is basically Chika, but as a mind-reading child. Both serve as comedic relief and as foils for the two main characters. Heck, even Ishigami is also kind of similar to Yuri as well. Secondly, both are absolutely hilarious and very unique in concept. Both shows feature a main "couple" that can't absolutely reveal the truth (feelings/identity respectively) to their love-interest. Love is War focuses a bit more on comedy, while Spy x Family has a more dark tone to it. Both are really well-written in every aspect really and never miss with their comedy. I could really go on all day, but, I think it becomes quite obvious once you see it for yourself. Overall, as Love is War is nearing to its end, Spy x Family really feels like its spiritual successor in both quality and concept, all while remaining incredibly unique. Both are must-reads (and/or must-watches, of course) in my opinion.

Both shows are extremely wholesome comedies that star a shy loner girl with a visible communication problems and a nice, but ordinary boy who becomes her first friend. The female MCs each slowly opens up their worlds after befriending the respective male MC, quickly becoming inseparable. They both tend to occasionally hint to romance between the two main characters, without fully committing to it yet (both series, especially Komi-san, develop the romance more-so in the latter half of their respective manga).

Both shows are great wholesome rom-coms that show a shy loner and a popular girl slowly falling in love as they both start getting close (and eventually influenced) by the other. My Dress-Up Darling has a more traditional pacing and has a lot of great fan service, while Horimiya instead focuses on character development and is really fast-paced (in a good way overall). Both are some of the best shows the genre have to offer in my opinion and are very similar quality wise.

Both high-budget movies serve as the finale to extremely dark, genre-altering subversive anime original shows. Thematically these movies are very similar, however, End of Evangelion and Rebellion end up in similar yet opposite places. Without going into spoiler territory, these movies are about loving your self essentially, but in Rebellion, the characters don't reach this conclusion and you get to see the consequences, as if Shinji was the perpetrator of the events that take place in The End of Evangelion. They both are deeply complex and have confusing plot lines that converge to a major mind-blowing climax to twist everything previously established by its predecessor, combined with dazzling experimental visuals in an apocalyptic thriller. They also completely rewrite the original ending of their predecessor all while displaying great action sequences and philosophical yet chaotic plot twists.

Both are surprisingly super dark psychological, apocalyptic anime original shows with lots of psychedelic imagery and mind-breaking plot-twists. Madoka Magica is clearly inspired by Evangelion in some light. They both tell the story of young teens that must suddenly risk their lives to save the world against weird overpowered creatures that share an unknown link to humans. Both shows essentially start off in a more light-hearted fashion (more-so Madoka Magica than Evangelion) and follow the common tropes of their generic genres. Soon enough, the show abruptly subverts your expectations by applying dark themes, shocking plot twists and realistic emotional development to a genre that is otherwise incredibly trope-heavy and generic. As you watch these shows, you are simply left in awe as there is clearly no possible happy ending in sight. These shows completely revolutionized the Mecha and Magical Girl genres respectively for this reason.

Both are extremely similar. Each harem comprises of a beautiful tsundere girl who the MC must pretend to be dating (Chitoge and Chizuru), a cute clingy girl that the MC doesn’t have feelings for (Marika and Ruka) and a shy innocent girl that is hard to dislike (Kosaki and Sumi). Each of these girls all share something in common. In Nisekoi, which has a high school setting, they’re all long lost childhood friends of the MC and each have a mysterious pendant. In Rent-a-Girlfriend, which has a college setting, each girl is a rental girlfriend, who the MC goes on dates with at times. Both stories essentially tell the tale of a fake couple eventually becoming a real one in a bloated 200+ chapter journey that could’ve ended way sooner if the characters were honest with their feelings and the managaka didn’t feel like milking their series. Both series also have characters who try to foil the fake relationship in an attempt to expose it in Mami and Claude, who have previous ties to one of the main characters in one way or another. While both are pretty good, I’d say Nisekoi is a bit better overall due to the MC being less of a beta male.

Both series also involve the practice of similar rituals (the Shaman Fight and the Holy Grail War), where these special people fight each other to win the tournament, which each grant a grand prize (the Great Spirit and the Holy Grail).

A female protagonist who is cold and maintains distance from people achieving an unapproachable feel to herself. She has poor social skills, but above average intelligence and beauty to match her academic skills. Both anime have the same groups of students interacting with each other, the popular kids, the athletic kids, the smart kids. Osamake is reminiscent of what a worst version of Masamune-kun's Revenge would look like. Both shows' harem girls are well-designed aesthetically at the very least and make the show interesting, even if most of them are quite dumb characters in retrospect, Both shows feature a harem where the main love interest(s) and the MC try to get revenge on the other by betraying their feelings of love and making the other fall for them just to reject them afterwards because of a stupid plot point/misunderstanding. Both shows get very cringe-worthy because of an arc. In the case of Osamake, it is because of the first arc, while in Masamune-kun's revenge, it is because of the final arc. After these events that turn the show into a dumpster fire, the show just take a nose dive and becomes worst. despite the cringe, the shows are still amusing in their own way. Unlike Osamake, I think the manga of Masamune-kun's Revenge is probably worth reading anyway as it looks pretty good if you disregard the [LIGHT SPOILER] incredibly annoying Masamune imposter that ruins everything good that the story had going for it.
