I stay clear of the school theme and have little interest in magician based shows, but after reading the description, and remembering I did enjoy the Harry Potter series, I decided to give it a try.

I binged the 12 episodes in 2 days, the storyline was that good and the protagonist was that likeable. I give it a solid 8 if only judging it on that.

So why did I give it a 1? Simple, because of one supporting character and a perverted scene. That person is his roommate Rosti. A male who sounds and acts like a female, and I thought was a tomboy girl ... pretending to be a guy, who is madly in love with our protagonist, but all doubts about him being a girl was shattered when he said the two of them routinely take baths together...WTF??!!

Now it is very clear from the start that the main character is in love with a girl, so they show him as being naïve and oblivious to the homosexuality coming from Rosti, but that doesn't stop the pervert from taking full advantage of the situation. Honestly I would of dropped this show from the start if I knew any lgb+ was involved, but it wasn't confirmed until episode 8 so I stayed to finish the full 12.

I doubt anyone is reading this, but if they are and they don't want to watch any lgbt+ content they should give this show a hard pass.

Up until episode 19 I gave this show an 8, then they introduce a character named Lucifer and hint at the end that he might be a good guy and in fact is one of the main characters. I watched episode 20 to see if they did it and yes, one of the main characters turns out to be a fallen angel named Lucifer who wants to save humanity.
What on Earth were they thinking making the most evil being in the Bible the good guy? I could not continue, I skipped to the last few minutes of last episode to see how it ended ... and gave the series a 1 to show my massive disappointment, that they would basically call Satan the 'savior' of the world. Nobody in the production crew bothered to take a 5 minute crash course in Christianity?

If it's one thing i've learned about reviews it is that you should mostly ignore them. A lot of shows I really liked were rated poorly and had lots of scathing not recommended reviews. Anime is an escape, a visual novel, best to search out genres and themes that interest you.

King's Raid: Successors of the Will is high fantasy, good vs evil, a group on a quest to save the world, exactly what many of us are looking for. Animation is great, comradery is great, the storyline is good (great if you like high fantasy), the characters are likeable and fleshed out so you get ... to know them and the protagonist is not OP from the get go.

There are no filler episodes, but episodes 13 To My Dear Friend and episode 24 Those Who Stand Firm are recaps with a couple of minutes of new content that will not affect the storyline if you skip them.

If you enjoy high fantasy I highly recommend this show, I give it a 9.
