Much akin to The Tatami Galaxy anime, I found this movie to be an absolute delight. Several human emotions are visually personified so simply and beautifully that it deserves the masterpiece tag. As a viewer, one is continually exposed to a feel good atmosphere (kind of relatable to drinking days back in college minus the anime histrionics). The young adult difficulties encountered in life are vividly portrayed, interspersed with several humorous settings, culminating with a great ending. I really don't want to say any more about this movie than to just watch it - a fine 90 minutes respite in the world of anime we ... so ever love

Kaiba is probably one of the most innovative anime out there when it comes to all facets of judgement, be it story, art, sound or character. It is a prime example of why we turn to anime for a different outlook on any topic which can never be found in mainstream television. While Kaiba portrays a sort of dystopic setting in which memories can be transferred between individuals, the manner in which the adventures of the protagonist (who suffers from partial memory loss) play out keeps you ever so involved in the plot. It manages to actually portray significantly mature topics in a simple and ... candid manner with a pace and efficiency borderlining masterpiece. The only downside I feel is that the ending was a bit rushed, which is unfortunately characteristic to a lot of anime these days. In conclusion, I would say that its definitely worth a watch since it achieves the objective of making the viewer think on the importance of memories, relationships and responsibility in a very realistic and simple manner.

Devilman Crybaby personifies an anime to have lost the plot along its way. It starts off very promising, especially with regard to character development and plot course. The manner in which events played out ensured a gradual build towards a climax that felt like it would be as badass as outrageous the concept of creating an adolescent crybaby-devil protagonist.
Things get a bit fast paced towards the middle of the season after which it seems like just a rush to end the agony of having failed to capitulate on the initial spark of creativity. Another let down was the emotional display of characters which seemed more ... confused than resolute. The only plus point is the artwork which was fantastic and sort of kept the interest alive, albeit to a disappointing finale.
In conclusion, this isn't an anime worth investing time in. I haven't read the manga so I don't really know if that pans out differently - the most one can hope for is a new adaptation with the same characters.
