Each are fantasy/magic genres that deal with gender differences from original stereotypes, where Binan deals with male magical girls and Utena deals with the reversing gender roles of typical "rescue the girl" tropes. Both series are mainly episodic and deal with riddles in every new episode, however Utena is more psychologically/drama based while Binan is more comedy/light-hearted focused. Characters like Wakaba from Utena and Yumoto from Binan, bring an optimism and similar warm humor to the two series making it more enjoyable to watch.

Gugure! Kokkuri-san

Beautiful male characters live with secluded loner-girls who are animated in a simple, comedic way. The goal of the male lead is to help the girl become better in society and live a healthier lifestyle. In The Wallflower, the girl mc is helped by a group of men who live in an mansion together, they must help her become lady-like to get cheap rent, and in Gugure Kokkuri-san a young girl who lives by herself and eats instant cup ramen for every meal is visited by a spirit who refuses to leave until she starts eating healthier and is less gloomy. Both are comedies but The Wallflower edges more on reverse-harem/romance while Gugure Kokkuri-san is more of an every day life with some supernatural ghosts being cute and stuff. If you've enjoyed the personality makeover themes of The Wallflower, Gugure Kokkuri-san would be recommended for you.

Nanatsu no Taizai

There is a slighty similar art style between both series along with historic/fantasy settings and a cast of bright and lovable characters. Both series are fantasy action adventures following a young cast in a land with multiple kingdoms. The main characters of both shows, Alibaba and Meliodas, are both successful and ambitious blondes with similar characteristics. Magi and Nanatsu no Taizai both have unique artstyles that are bright and not too realistic, favoring a younger teen audience however both series contain darker themes with battle, war and murder. That being said the shows mainly contain lighter themes like easy comedy, fun and justice. I'd say if you really enjoyed watching Magi last year and want to watch something similar this season, Nanatsu no Taizai would be a perfect match.

Both series are episodic with a reoccurring cast that helps new characters in each episode. These secondary characters are given their own stories and importance that shape the main characters into the people they genuinely are. Jigoku Shoujo however, is a modern Japan supernatural/psychological anime while Space Dandy is a futuristic space scifi. Both series however are executed to create and solve mysteries episodically. While Space Dandy has much more comedy than Jigoku Shoujo, when the series does take a serious turn the atmosphere can feel very similar.

Both series contain heartfelt experiences that may or may not make you cry, along with a daughter-father relationship in the works. They have beautiful animation and art style and deal with similar death related themes. Ai from Kami-Nai and Ushio from Clannad also share similar childish characteristics although diverse from their ages. In each world, the characters are also given second chances. In Kami-Nai however, darker themes are discussed and it is more death-related and fantasy than Clannad AF. In Clannad AF, more drama and romance is involved and it is definitely more slice of life with a slight mix of supernatural.
